I don't even think it's really triggering. I think he gets a kick out of being a contrarian at times. Pretty masochistic, imo, but I'm not gonna kink shame him.
Dude open world games today are just a contest of far the devs can spread the fun out. Only 10% of the map actually has something to do. I only have a few hours a week of spare time, I'm not trying to ride 45 real life miles on horseback to get to the next quest and find 50 question marks along the way. Perfectly reasonable scores on games that could have been great.
New Vegas is amazing specifically because it wasn't made by Bethesda, but by the old Black Isle team that went on to form Obsidian. They know their own franchise better than Todd Howard ever could, and proved it by churning out that masterpiece in less than two years.
Cyberpunk feels for me like the greatest RPG of the decade. It revolutionizes the mechanics of side quests, character development and without any doubt lays emphasis on ones decisions. One can discover the game anew simply by changing V's origin.
Stardew valley is S tier for me. My husband and I played co-op all throughout lockdown and it helped us stay sane. Such a wholesome game. Can't wait for haunted chocolatier to come out.
did the same thing with my girlfriend, full blown lockdown farming 14 hours a day. To bad that i cant beat the prairy king to platinum it ;( It´s S Tier for sure. As a kind of a methadone we started to play Sun haven which is also a pretty good game.
Finn, much like you’ve warned people about the metal community, it’s time to pay it forward and warn you about giving your opinions online about video games. Nothing but bad things come with this. Good video and tier list though!
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA lmao, what I love about you is even if I disagree wildly with some of your takes, you own it and I respect that. More people need to be like that. After all, no matter what you say, someone is gonna be upset regardless lol
Go into the Sega/Nintendo games of the 90s on your next one. You probably came of age right at the zenith of Genesis vs SNES, which is my favorite era of gaming by far. I was a SNES kid, obsessed with Square and Enix JRPGS, but there was still plenty to love outside of those games.
I remember seeing Pertubator play a set right after Between the Buried and Me at a festival, would love to see more bands do these types of tours, makes for great variety rather than 3-4 hours of a few bands that all sound too similar.
Oblivion has aged so horribly, but it is still so much fun to go back to and play. The NPC dialogue never fails to make me laugh. Easily has the best guild quests, especially the Dark Brotherhood.
The thing with Oblivion is I hate Oblivion gates. They're so annoying and repetitive, and I groaned whenever the game threw one on top of me when I was minding my own business. Dragons in Skyrim are also annoying once you're so powerful that they don't pose any challenge, but at least you could dispatch them much more quickly
It really saddens me with how far technology has come for games and STILL they haven’t been able to recreate an open world game like FONV. I still replay it to this day even though I know everything about it, but goddamn it’s just so good.
BOTW is an incredible game, but the breaking mechanic is annoying as fuck. Also not a fan of certain mechanics like slipping off a mountain when it rains or getting struck by lightning when a metal weapon is out. Still great though.
I lost interest in gaming in '95 after my mom took my SNES due to very bad grades. Good on mom, too, cuz I sure didn't need to be a game nerd AND a music nerd. Anyway, you should do a tier list of older games or, better yet, arcade games!
I fully agree about Saints Row the Third having the perfect amount of silliness and Saints Row IV going too far, but that first mission in SR4 with the nuclear missile and Aerosmith was absolutely god tier, as was the Christmas DLC
Cyberpunk feels for me like the greatest RPG of the decade. It revolutionizes the mechanics of side quests, character development and without any doubt lays emphasis on ones decisions. One can discover the game anew simply by changing V's origin.
I put so much hours into Skyrim simply due to not having the internet in my apartment. Once I beat the main quest and and about 70% of the side quests I was honestly satisfied, and started playing Halo 4 instead. I LOVED GTA:SA, I feel like it had the perfect balance of nostalgia and good gameplay. I also feel that the controls was better suited for dual shock controllers. Not to mention the fantastic soundtrack, arguably the best out of the series. Vice City comes in a close second.
I don’t really have the kind of time I’d like for video games these days, which is why I rarely go for open world anymore. I am having more fun with games that can be knocked out in 10-20 hours max.
Finn, as a casual music fan I've loved your content. Never concerned w/ what you do w/ your lists. Video games though... now you're entering my realm of passion. I look forward to watching and having internal heated dialog w/ your opinions haha
I like it, you and I have very similar takes on most these games. Thank you for calling out Skyrim lol. I love Bethesda and I do like Skyrim; but coming from Morrowind to Oblivion to Skyrim it sucked to see the "RPG" side of things sucked out of the formula like that. I'm a turbo-nerd when it comes to single player RPG's and Skyrim just ended up being more of an open world dungeon crawler than anything. They technically did the same thing with the Fallout IP, but I actually REALLY love Fallout 4. I think the open world FPS framework translates better to a more casual experience than the Elder Scrolls formula did.
I bought cyberpunk 2077 specifically because of edgerunners. Whoever came up with the idea to make a show connected to the game, should get a raise. 9/10 show, still haven’t completed the game.
Well, I would've put Stardew Valley one tier higher personally, but that's the only place we differed, and that's entirely a personal taste thing, no hate whatsoever.
One of my absolute favorite gaming moments is in Fallout: New Vegas. If you shoot the Hoover Dam war memorial while this guy is looking at it, he'll confront you, saying you're being disrespectful and his brother died in the Battle of Hoover Dam. You can give a response back that says "you're a little bitch, and your brother was, too," starting a fight. It's hilarious. Playing that game as an evil character is fucking awesome.
s tier content as usual. i'd say my favorite games are river city ransom, kirbys adventure, gta san andreas, mario 3, simpsons road rage and knock out kings 2001.
YES! I will forever love GTA San Andreas the most out of the whole franchise. best story, great radio stations (even K-Rose), and an honestly groundbreaking game. i was blown away at how big that map was. i logged an utterly depressing amount of hours on that game. i think i'm gonna replay it soon, now that i think of it. i bought it for my PC a year or so back for 4 or 5 bucks and forgot i had it! also, Stardew Valley is my all time favorite video game...and i have been playing video games since 1987 or so. that game is fucking perfect. and this is coming from a guy that loves the DOOM and Wolfenstein franchises. It sort if feels like bushwhacking in the mountains to me, something I greatly enjoy doing IRL. Thank you someone who agrees the Bethesda games aren't amazing. Also referencing what we now call the ubisoft effect that has permeated 90% of open world maps with meaningless dull content. It's always fun to dig on him. He seems like he's probably a decent guy irl, but his entire online brand is comic book guy from the simpsons meets 2016 anti-sjw videos. Also, he dropped deets a few weeks ago basically hinting that most of the far right who push...not so nice propaganda are romantically interested or having "relations" with LGBT people. Always the ones who preach hate of something are the ones who secretly love it more than anyone else. Jack Posobiec, Cernovich, and several others can't remember who. I feel like Jeremy reminds me of a movie character, but I can't put my finger on which one.
Was with you up until the BOTW slander. Dude, just give Ocarina of Time another full playthrough (equally goated) and then next time you play Breath of the Wild you’ll find a lot more appreciation in my opinion
Idk man, every game was described as "shallow". Witcher 3 has side quests more in depth than some games main quests. Tbh I've never understood the love for anything by Bethesda. This channel is actually a testament to the fact that putting out good content is important even though viewers may disagree with the opinion.

‘I don’t think Geralt is a interesting character’
Heresy
That Quartering dig was kinda great tho 😂
I think it's safe to say that a final fantasy only tier list would be prudent.
Oh good call!
Was with you up until the BOTW slander. Dude, just give Ocarina of Time another full playthrough (equally goated) and then next time you play Breath of the Wild you’ll find a lot more appreciation in my opinion
Don’t care for OOT either. I’m a LTTP kind of guy
You’re breaking my heart right now 🥺
Hey Finn have you seen the new teens react to ska video? (if you wanna ruffle some feathers... 😉😆)
Idk man, every game was described as "shallow". Witcher 3 has side quests more in depth than some games main quests. Tbh I've never understood the love for anything by Bethesda. This channel is actually a testament to the fact that putting out good content is important even though viewers may disagree with the opinion.
witcher 3 is definitely great but not that great lets be real
@@leviskata Witcher is great, let’s be real
@@devilman444a yk what okay maybe ur right
Awesome tier list, I agree almost completely. Tons of these games that are considered "masterpieces" like BoTW or Witcher 3 are really not that good
Manhunt? God Of War? Megaman X? Terminal Velocity?
Manhunt. Now thats a game i havnt thought about since highschool. A forgotten treasure.
100% agree about Botw. It's not a bad game but it's not even in my top 3 Zelda games and I'm not even a hardcore Zelda fan.
