19:30 I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I feel so deeply for Luigi rn. When hes on camera, I wonder if some of his jaw clenching is to make sure he doesn’t cry.. he must know he has to appear strong to the public.
Prince, you always make the content I wanna see! I'm a decade older than you, but we have some very similar experiences, influences, and perspectives. I'm always sat for the new work. I gotta get into your book
He's sort of cute but I'm 43 and not a cougar. I donated $50 to Briana Boston instead because I know how it feels to be a mom struggling like crazy to get help.
It’s not that he’s hot. It’s that he did it in real life and he’s hot. There are a bunch of revolutionaries that aren’t hot, but we still listen to them
I didn't need to know what he looked like to understand his motive and sympathize with the justified anger at the system. I think fetishizing him is a way to distract us from building on the momentum and actually achieving healthcare reform. Instead of posting thirst traps we need to organize
Aesthetic has always mattered in EVERYTHING. How do we know Luigi is bisexual? I keep hearing this being thrown around, but no evidence. I don’t care about his sexuality, I’m just curious because strangers who don’t know this man are writing his life for him.
Good video and glad I found this channel. I dislike how some are reducing it to that, saying "look at these dumb people thirsting for this dude" to dumb it down, to avoid talking about the issue at hand, that being the state of the American healthcare system in the case of Luigi. I think the halo effect comes into it, too, though, like how average-looking rock stars become "hot" because people like their music. The AI edits are just weird though.
Personally, I’m in love with him because he’s awakened many Americans to the reality of class consciousness- a hitherto unrealizable feat. If his attractiveness helps propel the story, so be it.
I feel like Luigi’s looks have become somewhat of a double-edged sword for him. His good looks are pulling people in to educate themselves and match his intellect and are expanding the conversation about the abusive and exploitative US healthcare system… but they are also distracting people from a) the severe charges he is up against and the real pain he suffers from b) the UHC shooter’s message of holding the wealthy elite accountable (whether or not this has anything to do with Luigi as he has pled not guilty). I’ve seen AI videos, retail companies capitalizing off his face with slogans that imply he was the shooter (which puts him in further danger) using photos that he could not consent to the distribution of, girls fighting over who he would be attracted to based on personal details shared by so-called friends that he could not consent to being shared. His privacy has been invaded cause of his looks with no regard to who he is a person. I agree with you that whether or not the suspect ended up being hot, there would still be support but these crazy levels of so-called “support” that sexualize and objectify him are not productive at all. Too many people are not taking what he’s up against seriously and it’s sad to watch. That being said, it really depends on the person’s reasoning too - many were crushing on the UHC shooter prior to a suspect being announced as a vast majority of us put great value into the bravery of taking direct action. It’s false to say that most people’s attraction to him is shallow and solely based on looks.
Same reason you can tell someone something but they don't take it seriously unless it came from a different source, one they RESPECTED. People tend to give more value and attention to attractive people.
Looks help when it comes to spreading a message. Most people here would sign a petition from a person who looks like Diego Luna over someone who looks like Luis Guzman. I posted about how pretty Angela Davis was with her afro on a “why are people interested in Luigi” post.
They made Rosa Parks the face of the movement because she was light skinned and attractive. The first person who actually refused to give up her seat was a darker skinned teenage girl who they didn't think was attractive enough to lead the cause
Another great video! I had to cheer out loud at 3:52 cuz like YES!!! “An entry way but not a road in!” This is such a great way to say it cuz it helped me realize that I’ve been thinking about WHERE this road even is for a while now… Cuz like the entry way of just taking in the info and listening to ppl w/experience is “easy” to get comfortable in… but, speaking for myself, I think I’m worried about ever getting to that road and beginning that journey… Hmm…much to think about!!! Thank you for the new perspective!!!
I'm not from the USA, so I don't know how much that affects my perspective... But I follow and interact online with people from multiple countries and I have observed this fascination with Luigi Mangioni, and my assessment would be the opposite from this vídeos tesis. It seems very clear to me that most people were expressing their attraction towards this person not because he's conventionally attractive BUT because, mostly circumstancially, he happens to represent a certain cause they agree with. He brought attention to an issue that causes inmense discomfort, pain, resentment and even intergenerational trauma; which is the state treating medicine and public health as a business. The common people feel so strongly wronged about not having access to free public health service, and were so excited about an opportunity to bring this conversation to light in a way that can not be ignored, that they wanted to like this criminal. They like him because of what he represents: a demand for change, a refusal to accept the status quo, a metaphorical finger pointing towards a culprit (CEOs of health insurances). They don't hype up and scream about how hot Luigi is because he's handsome, they wanna praise his looks because what he did meant something to them, some sort of catarsis or opportunity to vent about their experiences. Now, I do agree people started liking him more due to the sociopolitical stance they're projecting onto him, and I agree the details that have come out about him make him more relatable and inspirational to many... But I distinctly remember people being extremely happy or relieved or showing so much anticipation, way before any real information appeared, or even photos of his full face. I do believe the topic you're talking about is interesting, I just don't think this case is a good example of it.
I fully agree with this beautiful and insightful comment. Americans are likely the most alienated, divided and isolated people , communities are weak and often merely symbolic. The measure of their importance is income so when they are most vulnerable their loneliness is abysmal . The mere idea of being heard, seen, to the point of someone avenging them with such extreme, troubling actions was a breakthru for so many. Indeed here good looks are icing on the cake . Nice cultural gossip but focusing on this would mean missing the whole story .
Luigi happens to be good looking but I would feel the same way if he wasn’t.I have ptsd from some of my experiences with the healthcare system.my late husband broke his neck in a work accident and we didn’t have insurance all that we especially him went thru was absolutely horrendous and my husband was straight if he was alive today he would of cheered Luigi on.Also generally in society people like attractive people better sad but true.whether their scimbags or not
I don't care about what the young man looks like and the people who do will forget about him when someone else grabs their attention. He did bring to mind one of my favorite movies - Bulworth

Because humans are shallow , and it almost makes me sometimes want to be a misantropic which is bad , I was fat for 25 years of my life 150 kilos and people treated me like a s*** . Now they treat me better ,I don't know but the wounds remained. Be hot and you have everything.

I have not been obsessed with L.M. at all. I saw his picture and thought he was superficially attractive but other than an initial and basic LITE superficial attraction, I don't spend time looking or thinking of him at all. I don't allow people I don't actually know to take up space in my mind (actors, politicians, sensationalized people, etc....). I find L.M. is just a gross distraction for the easily swayed masses. Here's a video that expands on how I feel on the matter, ruclips.net/video/YHcsuYFlKDM/видео.html. Thank-you for sharing more of your thoughts, I'm glad you also focused on the Black Panthers.
26:39 - tentative yes to both questions imo! The difference might be the dampening of the action from being hot is from outside distractions whereas the fact ppl will care less is done from within. Outside distractions to me are like news and radio and all types of traditional media that jump onto the perceived hotness and keep it going in the public zeitgeist for as long as possible to diminish the importance of the action. If Luigi’s (alleged) action is covered with a similar energy as Kim wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress, it gets shrugged off by more people. I do think the extraness the judicial state is pulling is a larger factor in scaring away ppl, but hey it’s multidimensional 🤷🏾♀️ Oh and from within I just mean like the idea of discussing the action for as long or as seriously doesn’t cross as many ppl’s minds in part cuz we’re taught to think that way re: desirability. The state has to more often utilize brute force to detract further action…i.e Donald’s shooter(s), response(s) to George Floyd protests, etc
He's also valedictorian, ivy League educated, nature lover, wealthy (who gave it up for a cause) and authentic. Not a staged toupee clown. So it's not just about looks.
I think an engaging aesthetic is a good thing for the left in order to win cultural war, i'm too a bit annoyed by people thirsting at Luigi but it seems to have drawn people to the conversation. Facism is also VERY OBSSESED with good aesthetic and i think it is because they know people (especially young) pay attention to those things ! Great video, greeting from France !
@@elleanna5869 I didn't knew Saint Just but i have made research and it seem your are right, people where saying that about him, thank to you i discovers a new historical character. Hope you are doing good in those complicated times !!
I think Luigi being hot makes him more useful if he and the commentators covering the situation make it a point to focus on the issues and not his looks. The outreach is also tremendously helpful. I mean you got Bill Burr saying free Luigi on Jimmy Kimmel, that’s how mainstream this has become.
Also, I think you're being a little dismissive of the discussion that's been happening surrounding this event. I haven't really heard anyone like laser focused on his attractiveness. Certainly not leftists. In all the conversations I've had about it they center around class consciousness and how this is the first pitchfork. Hopefully
I agree with your point basically. In many ways, I think the whole fanfare around how he looks makes me think a lot about aesthetics, and the folks that might never move beyond that, but I do kinda disagree with my point in the video that it's "an entryway, not a road" all the time. Definitely is case by case in how what happened to that CEO moves or radicalizes people. Lol, maybe this video is an "entryway, but not a road"
The Civil Rights movement particularly the seats in and march in were very aware of an aesthetic- presenting themselves in suit and ties absolutely were meant to influence white and black people to see them in a particular light. Today Jeans are ubiquitous however back then in the United States to wear jeans folks would assume you were a farmer. The choice to wear a suit was a conscious one.
14:10 ngl that’s kind of a brick wall. I dont think anyone hyped up about this event is concerned about those conversations. My first thoughts when this happened were about how stuff like this happens all the time. What I gathered from reading history of political movements is that the CEO’s gonna be replaced, the act isn’t building anything, and it’s either misleading or ineffective as propaganda. I might be wrong about the last one, they didn’t have social media when _propaganda of the deed_ was tried, but it’s still an example of just the destructive side of the coin. Anarchist health organizations and open, free medical education could be the constructive side (I know there are some anarchist orgs doing that), which is why I think this is the perfect time to be pointing everyone towards those rn. But I digress… I don’t think the CEO would be an ally during his lifetime anyway. But I also don’t think increased repression before we have set up as many horizontal organizations as possible would be wise. A state can be illegitimate to the populace but not to its police/military/foreign allies
0:19 for this guy in particular it was just such a shock and realizing once again that even the gym rat tech bro musk simp nephew of a deeply conservative politician could be radicalized in this way I remember people being more shocked at how he looked than anything
It was the first news I saw, that day. Rolled over and opened my phone. I leapt out of bed like the grandad in willy Wonka and cheered and danced before I had the dopamine in my system from meds to even do it. I was making jokes about being in love with him long before seeing his face, I am AMAB, and we didn't know Luigi is bi, who mind you is only allegedly him. I do believe there's optics in a lot of things, but ultimately, I thought Luigi was mid until I was people calling him hot and was gonna ride it with them. It's cultural, beauty isn't in the eye of the beholder, ugliness is.
What my xomment was: I have no friends because kindness is weakness and having nothing and no one is a crime, I need iconoclasm and doing bad things better than others do bad things to me before others can accpt good things from me and do good things for me. Indoctrination (the tower).
Firstly, Malcolm X was a revolutionary. Luigi, not so much. He's just another white boy populist who is easily radicalized. Secondly, I will admit to have major crushes on some black men in the 1960s and 1970s. But Luigi is pretty basic, as your generation says.
Firstly, we have yet to see trial and motives - but if he consciously and with no insanity issues acted against for profit health and against corporate pervasive greed and power,, this would make of him a revolutionary not only like MX but even bigger. Maybe people expecially in the US struggle to realize how huge and global those issues are, and will be even more sooner than later. He's already above the "another White boy radicalized" ...would you mind providing some examples of white boys whose alleged acts started the conversation that noone wanted/ dared to fully expose even with decades of studies, reports, evidence - and a conversation that is one with democracy and Justice themselves? Looks like US weren't able to produce many of these cunning white boys. Hopefully for oligarchs, Americans will waste any momentum in trivial divisions, and hopefully for him in order to walk earlier and skip the chair,he will get insanity - yet the issues he allegedly addressed are enough for 2-3 global revolutions , and will surface rampantly - in 5-10 years
But has he said he’s bi sexual or been openly bi sexual? I don’t think he’s said it or been openly bi so it shoujd not be stated as fact. To your point about wealth - I agree. The fact that Luigi has both a wealthy upbringing and all of the elite access that came with it took it to another level. That’s almost more of a driving force than his looks- it’s his affluent background. The AI is CRAZY and it seems he didn’t like that kind of cornification and commented about it on X. So it’s wild folks who claim to support him are making hyper sexual AI edits of him. Also the commodification of his image is wild too considering it’s while people are simultaneously making Luigi an anti capitalist symbol. Folks trying to say he’s wearing luxury clothes and then folks making merch and launching meme coins… ITS SO GROSS
It was day 1 of the tragedy- I bothered to read comments, thousands dropping the darkest, harshest!, edgiest! and most bitter comedic gold that no recklless and smart pro comedian could ever drop And anti-snitch ones kinda "I'm broke AF but not this time, I won't snitch this guy for 1mln" Or one that got me "today the world brigthens, raise a chalice to the children, the mothers, the fathers who died - that's to their memory" Looks age background and gender (many thinking of a woman) of the shooter were still unknown ...now, I don't care about Luigi as a priority, don't get me wrong he deserves a fair trial, every circumstance carefully wheigthed , I personally think he's overcharged with t3rrorism (unless we finally, openly admitted that oligarchy is real , corpos run the show and own our lives, then shooting a ceo of largest monopoly group in pivotal sector shakes State order more than shooting a prime minister), currently overpunished before trial with 23 hours a day in a windowless cell. And yes, that perp walk was a whole circus But it was Americans reaction that got me. Alienated , isolated people beholding themselves and their loved ones struggling against avoidable humiliation, suffering, abuse, loss thinking "Nobody cares, I'm on my own, things will never change" - then hearing 3 gunshots and... Wait. Maybe. It's not really over. Or maybe it is but this is one for me , and then reading others "one for the TEAM" You see, maybe it will turn out that Luigi is just a nut deranged gen z unaffiliated class traitor who could not get any trade off with his family business, his own health issues caging his youth and a whole world not making any sense to him. And just snapped But the giga Pandora vase he (allegedly )opened and the voices that raised after those gunshots are valuable. Immensely. Sometimes things need to happen and loneliness needs to burst ,even in some kind of wild chaotic togetherness started by a lonely troubled young man gunning down a lonely troubled man double his age and maybe his misery too This could be even called revolution (Allegedly)
For real… you tell them somebody killed Robin Hood’s father about taxes and left his dead body on the lawn while Robin Hood was out of town… his father was dead hanging in a tree when he got back and they are like “Was Robin Hood hot?!? Was he wearing green or red?!?” 🟢🔴🏹🤑☠️
This video was inevitable, haha. Hope you're doing well, because 2025 seems like the first step towards a descent to a hellscape, given that climate change will only gets worse; and all this political turmoil is making it all far worse.

I gotta get into your book
aw, that's so kind and means so much to me! i hope you resonate with my book
He's sort of cute but I'm 43 and not a cougar. I donated $50 to Briana Boston instead because I know how it feels to be a mom struggling like crazy to get help.
It’s not that he’s hot. It’s that he did it in real life and he’s hot.
There are a bunch of revolutionaries that aren’t hot, but we still listen to them
Look up Louis Lingg. He was a "hot" anarchist too. Not much about him in history books that I can find
My brother once told me women with cellulite shouldn't wear shorts in public. 🙄
Men who create arbitrary rules for women determined by their bodies shouldn't show their face in public
It’s not my fault that Stalin was a looker.
Sooo true
I didn't need to know what he looked like to understand his motive and sympathize with the justified anger at the system. I think fetishizing him is a way to distract us from building on the momentum and actually achieving healthcare reform. Instead of posting thirst traps we need to organize
Aesthetic has always mattered in EVERYTHING.
How do we know Luigi is bisexual? I keep hearing this being thrown around, but no evidence. I don’t care about his sexuality, I’m just curious because strangers who don’t know this man are writing his life for him.
I’ve heard from a few sources
Good video and glad I found this channel. I dislike how some are reducing it to that, saying "look at these dumb people thirsting for this dude" to dumb it down, to avoid talking about the issue at hand, that being the state of the American healthcare system in the case of Luigi.
I think the halo effect comes into it, too, though, like how average-looking rock stars become "hot" because people like their music.
The AI edits are just weird though.
"midwestern hot" - LOL Never heard that one. Love your work - thanks for doing it!
Thanks for listening
Great video. I was personally rooting for Luigi before we found out he was a hottie patotie.
People care about Luigi being hot bc ppl are basic af lol
Same reason you can tell someone something but they don't take it seriously unless it came from a different source, one they RESPECTED. People tend to give more value and attention to attractive people.
With all the California fires, I am looking forward to the seeing & sharing the upcoming Mutual Aid video.
almost like the act of trying to change the world no matter how futile, is desireable.
“An entry way but not a road in!”
This is such a great way to say it cuz it helped me realize that I’ve been thinking about WHERE this road even is for a while now… Cuz like the entry way of just taking in the info and listening to ppl w/experience is “easy” to get comfortable in… but, speaking for myself, I think I’m worried about ever getting to that road and beginning that journey…
Hmm…much to think about!!! Thank you for the new perspective!!!
Cause they good looking people with a conscience.
Nice cultural gossip but focusing on this would mean missing the whole story .
people loved him before we knew his face, but being hot and white definitively helps the cause. it wasn't our main point though.
Luigi happens to be good looking but I would feel the same way if he wasn’t.I have ptsd from some of my experiences with the healthcare system.my late husband broke his neck in a work accident and we didn’t have insurance all that we especially him went thru was absolutely horrendous and my husband was straight if he was alive today he would of cheered Luigi on.Also generally in society people like attractive people better sad but true.whether their scimbags or not
What's not to love about a hot revolutionary? I blame Zack De La Rocha for forming this personal type for me.
I don't care about what the young man looks like and the people who do will forget about him when someone else grabs their attention.
He did bring to mind one of my favorite movies - Bulworth

Thank you!! You said everything I felt about this situation but I didn't know exactly how to articulate it
thank you for the video! 💥
thank you for watching!
Because humans are shallow , and it almost makes me sometimes want to be a misantropic which is bad , I was fat for 25 years of my life 150 kilos and people treated me like a s*** . Now they treat me better ,I don't know but the wounds remained. Be hot and you have everything.
Man•jee•oh•nee Luigi Mangione!
I've been in love with your content, thank you so much for this work. Can't wait to end my work ando go read ur indications. Sry for the wringting, im from brazil hahahaha

True, Lenin was the first bald hottie
I have not been obsessed with L.M. at all. I saw his picture and thought he was superficially attractive but other than an initial and basic LITE superficial attraction, I don't spend time looking or thinking of him at all. I don't allow people I don't actually know to take up space in my mind (actors, politicians, sensationalized people, etc....). I find L.M. is just a gross distraction for the easily swayed masses. Here's a video that expands on how I feel on the matter, ruclips.net/video/YHcsuYFlKDM/видео.html. Thank-you for sharing more of your thoughts, I'm glad you also focused on the Black Panthers.

thank you for watching!
Just a thought. If Luigi organize a protest in front of the UnitedHealth building, would the public notice his protest.🤔
I do think the extraness the judicial state is pulling is a larger factor in scaring away ppl, but hey it’s multidimensional 🤷🏾♀️
Oh and from within I just mean like the idea of discussing the action for as long or as seriously doesn’t cross as many ppl’s minds in part cuz we’re taught to think that way re: desirability.
Left and especially in France has been engaged in aesthetic forever. At least since French Revolution, Saint Just alone had such hype for his hotness😅
@@elleanna5869 I didn't knew Saint Just but i have made research and it seem your are right, people where saying that about him, thank to you i discovers a new historical character. Hope you are doing good in those complicated times !!
Can't believe i clicked on another video where the answer to the question is in the question🤦🏿♂️ Good vid (ir)regardless👍🏿
Thanks❤❤❤
7:05 You know, those wholesome good old "traditional values."
But I digress…
I don’t think the CEO would be an ally during his lifetime anyway. But I also don’t think increased repression before we have set up as many horizontal organizations as possible would be wise. A state can be illegitimate to the populace but not to its police/military/foreign allies
0:19 for this guy in particular it was just such a shock and realizing once again that even the gym rat tech bro musk simp nephew of a deeply conservative politician could be radicalized in this way
I remember people being more shocked at how he looked than anything
The fact that he was an attractive white man that was wealthy was the trifecta of attracting attention. We worship the wealthy in the United Sates.
Beauty is power.
wait, is luigi bi? i thought that was a joke on twitter
me too😭😭😭
It was the first news I saw, that day.
Yes, Malcom X was a handsome man but yoooo i just now realized this but anderson.paak looks like malcom x 😮
great work !
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
What my xomment was: I have no friends because kindness is weakness and having nothing and no one is a crime, I need iconoclasm and doing bad things better than others do bad things to me before others can accpt good things from me and do good things for me. Indoctrination (the tower).
Jesus christ theyre gonna start calling Marc Cuban a revolotionary next
very interesting topic, you slay king❤i fear
thank you!
Because most people are style over substance. There you go.
Hopefully for oligarchs, Americans will waste any momentum in trivial divisions, and hopefully for him in order to walk earlier and skip the chair,he will get insanity - yet the issues he allegedly addressed are enough for 2-3 global revolutions , and will surface rampantly - in 5-10 years
@@elleanna5869 u bluefoot are so useless
It was day 1 of the tragedy- I bothered to read comments, thousands dropping the darkest, harshest!, edgiest! and most bitter comedic gold that no recklless and smart pro comedian could ever drop
And anti-snitch ones kinda "I'm broke AF but not this time, I won't snitch this guy for 1mln"
Or one that got me "today the world brigthens, raise a chalice to the children, the mothers, the fathers who died - that's to their memory"
Looks age background and gender (many thinking of a woman) of the shooter were still unknown
...now, I don't care about Luigi as a priority, don't get me wrong he deserves a fair trial, every circumstance carefully wheigthed , I personally think he's overcharged with t3rrorism (unless we finally, openly admitted that oligarchy is real , corpos run the show and own our lives, then shooting a ceo of largest monopoly group in pivotal sector shakes State order more than shooting a prime minister), currently overpunished before trial with 23 hours a day in a windowless cell.
And yes, that perp walk was a whole circus
But it was Americans reaction that got me. Alienated , isolated people beholding themselves and their loved ones struggling against avoidable humiliation, suffering, abuse, loss thinking "Nobody cares, I'm on my own, things will never change" - then hearing 3 gunshots and...
Wait.
Maybe.
It's not really over.
Or maybe it is but this is one for me , and then reading others "one for the TEAM"
You see, maybe it will turn out that Luigi is just a nut deranged gen z unaffiliated class traitor who could not get any trade off with his family business, his own health issues caging his youth and a whole world not making any sense to him. And just snapped
But the giga Pandora vase he (allegedly )opened and the voices that raised after those gunshots are valuable. Immensely.
Sometimes things need to happen and loneliness needs to burst ,even in some kind of wild chaotic togetherness started by a lonely troubled young man gunning down a lonely troubled man double his age and maybe his misery too
This could be even called revolution
(Allegedly)
you are making me bankrupt, had to buy 4 books now 😛
Use the library
@ they are not at my library
For real… you tell them somebody killed Robin Hood’s father about taxes and left his dead body on the lawn while Robin Hood was out of town… his father was dead hanging in a tree when he got back and they are like “Was Robin Hood hot?!? Was he wearing green or red?!?” 🟢🔴🏹🤑☠️

Think of the dude who killed the CEO of cashapp. Can’t remember what he looks like or his motives huh?
Isn't Jesus depicted as attractive with long brown hair and Anglo Saxon nose?
Who is we lol
This video was inevitable, haha. Hope you're doing well, because 2025 seems like the first step towards a descent to a hellscape, given that climate change will only gets worse; and all this political turmoil is making it all far worse.
