Why the Playstation Portal WILL NOT fail
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 авг 2024
- The Playstation Portal is released on November 15th 2023. It’s set to position itself as the next generation of handheld gaming. Who is it for and why will it be a success?
There seems to be a lot of misinformation about the PS Portal. Some people think it’s a new Playstation Vita. Some people think it will only work at home. Some people think it’s a replacement for the PS5 and some don’t realise you need a Playstation 5 for it to work in the first place.
The Portal rapidly sold out in Japan and pre-orders seem to have been solid in the west too. I’m convinced that, for the west at least, this handheld Playstation Remote Play device is aimed at us middle aged gamers where time is precious and pick up and play matters. Yes, I firmly believe that this is for the gaming dads and mums of the world!
Is the Playstation Portal perfect? No, it definitely is not. But will it allow me to play my favourite PS5 games on the sofa or in bed whilst the kids are doing their own thing? Does it give the best of both worlds? The answer to both of those questions is YES.
In this video I explain why the Playstation Portal is going to revolutionise gaming for parents. I also explain what the console does and what it does NOT do as well as what it has and does not have (bluetooth audio anyone?). I touch on what the new Playstation Link system is as well as the newly announced Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds and the Pulse Elite Wireless Headset. They supposedly have lossless audio in an ultra low latency audio format that Sony claims will help bring “next level audio performance to the gaming experience”.
Is Playstation Link a good system or is it another case of Sony trying to push yet another proprietary system where it’s not wanted or needed? Will the Portal’s network quality requirements lead to negative reviews?
There is a lot to get into. Either way, I am convinced that the Playstation Portal is going to be a giant success story and cannot wait to get my hands on mine.

53 year old gamer dad here. Been in the mix since playing Pong at my grandmothers house in the late 70s? This device is, to me the ability to play my PS5 and or PS5 quality games in my house. No longer having to lug the system around. Solid video 👍
Full circle time then!? Pong (Zen Pong?) on the PS5 via your PS Portal, in every room of the house!
If you’re on pc or have a smartphone, just get remote play, can still play ps5 games elsewhere
@@HeartlessSlayer3 That's what has been the norm. But I cant pass up an accessory that has dualsense controls with an 8" screen.
I wish I could get my gpa to play video games
@@DR.DisInfect 🤣😂🤣 I nearly gave up with Atari. I knew one day that games would get better looking and more open worldly. I'm glad I stuck around.
I’m not a gamer dad, but as a 46 year old gamer that likes to play wherever, I preordered this and am looking forward to it
You and millions of others. 🍻
Steam Deck:
@@jackofblades3171200 not even expensive
@@ReeksofChees3I have one but everyone doesn’t want a steam deck because it’s a pc, much more complicated than something like this
@@iamddttju6500 Switch?
“And you’ve got little other choice than to sit there, and have that HAPPEN TO YOU!”.
My lord did I feel this.
Gaming dad here...and completely agree!! Have mine on pre order as have a big backlog!
My steamdeck has been my main gaming device for a while now!
Oh man, the backlog... tell me about it! What are you planning on doing about the sound? 3.5mm cabled headphones?
@@TheGameFatherUK I'm thinking 3.5mm might be the only option. On my steam deck, I use Bluetooth buds ...but refuse to spend a further £200 on the linkbuds. What about yourselves?
Whats on your backlog?? Dying to actually play GoW Ragnarok. Got it for my birthday back in February but cause I have 2 under 2 plus work....I don't have time for anything right now. Wait for my eldest to get to sleep and then get an opportunity to game in the same room as my wife and daughter lol
@@mohsinashraf5466 I totally agree, it'll be a bit like going back 10 years but 3.5mm headphones will do fine, I can't justify the cost of the buds either. I managed to squeeze GoW Ragnarok in when it was released but I still have FFXVI to play, Resident Evil 4 and the Ghost of Tsushima DLC. I'm slowly playing through Alan Wake 2 hour by hour but I think that's a game that's best suited to a big screen.
Next challenge will be trying to actually keep the Portal in my own hands. I can almost feel a little lie coming on about it only working on my own Playstation Profile. Such a horrible parent 😉
I can't wait bro..take a family trip.i can play my portal in the room on some downtime
Great perspective from a gaming father. I work two full time jobs. And I'm tired of traveling with my $500 PS5. Now I can pull this portal out completely comfortable
@@jackofblades3171dude it streams over wifi... Meaning ANYWHERE there is wifi🤦♂️
I'm a parent and a big user of remote play, cannot wait until the 15th!
I believe you can plug a Bluetooth adapter into the PS5 and use that to stream audio whilst using it on remote play, which could be a good work around (personally I use one that supports APTX adaptive in game mode to limit any latency issues)
Yeah I believe that to be the case also, I think I'm just going to go with cabled earphones, may as well get some use out of the old Apple ones that were never taken out of the box! :D
I work out of town a lot and have to pack it up everytime I go. Pain in the ass. Plus I have to worry that somebody is going to steal it. Now I can leave it at home and take the portal with me instead! Thank you Sony!
That's some dedication right there! The pick-up-and-play nature of the Portal is going to be a game changer. Love the Avatar btw!
Lol he said Blippi! He gets my life as a Dad. This is exactly why I appreciate the PS Portal.
Blippi is one of those things that you don't know until you have to know. Then you can NEVER un-know it. It's life changing.
@TheGameFatherUK if you want to expand your options check out Handyman Hal, he's the East Coast (of the USA) version of Blippi. I like his content a little more.
And there you have it, going from talking about gaming to recommending shows for our kids. #dadlife
Father of a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. I also work from home, so by the time I get them down to bed, the absolute last thing I want to do is sit back down at my desk and game. This device is perfect for me and will be a huge step up from using the remote play app on my iPhone.
YES! Finally someone who represents my thoughts as a gamer dad. I agree 100% with this fantastic video. Subbed.
Thank you! Us gaming dad have got to stick together! Have you played a competitive game against a teenager recently. Talk about humbling experiences 😂. Appreciate the sub my friend!
Couldn’t agree with you more!
Gamer dad here. I have mine pre-ordered and im excited for my playstation portal.
Same here, I am a dad, and don't even own a TV, so the portal is a fantastic option for me
Also, I can't wait to hear your thoughts when the Portal arrives. Urs is the only review I'll actually take heed of
I'm a 43yr old retired royal marines commando and gaming dad
Gamer dad and husband who's wife also loves Netflix so this is aimed at me and not taking the TV up for hours got mine pre-ordered and set for delivery on release day
It's going to be a game changer! Hope you enjoy it!
@@TheGameFatherUKme to can't wait for it.
1:10 SO SPOT ON! Got that exact OLED for basically frickin blippi. Wasn't interested in this originally based on prior initial impressions of RUclipsrs but I'm definitely interested now.
But no OLED is a massive miss no doubt.
Blippi.... could that character be any more insufferable?? If televisions could cry... I haven't managed to find a good answer why there is no OLED in the portal, it certainly does seem like a glaring missed opportunity to me too.
this is not just a gaming accessory for parents. i am not a parent but i love playing one or two games a lot. having a device i can carry to a different room, house, or country without moving my main console is super convenient. AND, because the controller is modeled after the actual PS5's, it makes adjusting to playing on the portal so much easier than the steam, or backbone that are smaller and have a different look to them. There are many more reasons why i think this is a great investment for anyone (With a PS5 already) and enjoys gaming, but i just want to make it clear that you dont need to be a parent to see the value in the device.
Oh don't get me wrong, of course I know it's not aimed soley at parents. I'd be buying one with or without kids and probably with or without a partner for the exact reasons you've stated. It's definitely a great step forward in convenient gaming (hopefully!).
PlayStation Portal will be great and I am wondering how the audio will be. I expect it will support 3D Audio given the new headsets but also the possibility to use Pulse 3D wired
I travel for work aLOT so this is perfect!!
I'm excited for this, it looks massive!! Just got a notification that mines being prepared to ship! Mcribs come back the same day also, amazing
I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE MCRIB! What a day it's going to be 🥳
You know me so well. Just today I had to sit and wait to play until 10pm. I have to work early in the morning so I basically am watching this and going to bed.
Well, I appreciate that you spent those precious few minutes watching me blabber on about a games console whilst trashing Blippi 😅. It's going to be a game changer when it comes out next week!
Watching this vid on my phone sat next to my 2yr old on the sofa while she watches Bluey on my 65" 4k Oled 😂🤦🏼♂️ (pre ordered my portal as soon as they opened pre orders) #dadlife lol
That's a hashtag right there 😆 I feel your pain, my heart sinks for that poor TV. It's life should have been filled with 4K HDR cinematic wonders... Alas, Bluey it is 🥲 Only 5 days to go now!
Bro just sat there and described my life completely. Down to the love island part...xD If this product just works like we all hope its a game changer.
Hah, man, that show... talk about the cancer of TV! Fingers crossed for Wednesday!
100%. I’m getting this for when I watch hockey and football and the kiddo watching his show
I'm currently playing the Vita because I spend alot of time at work. Instead of me lugging my ps5 to work an only being able to play on the weekends or the off shift I can now play the Playstation portal during the day shift like I do with the Vita.
Yes! This is will be the way! If you're playing on a corporate WifI, check to see if there is any port blocking going on, otherwise you might need to rely on a tethered internet connection. The Vita was a piece of class for it's time, great device!
Can’t wait till Wednesday I’m hyped to play on this thing
Great summary of why it's wrong to write the portal off just because it's not for everyone. Personally I'm still on the fence whether it is for me but I'm in severe danger of jumping off and onto the purchase side once I see this thing running, especially if it's flawless
Honestly, if you have a stable internet connection, this might be an amazing device.
Hoping so!
I'm not a parent, but there are times where I'd like to have some TV playing while I game, or my wife wants to watch something. This will come in handy all the time, just can't justify buying one at the moment. Christmas here I come.
I'm curious... if you are someone who uses remote play (let's say on an Ipad) and currently experiences no latency or other issues, is there any chance that the Portal performs worse under the same conditions?
Probably not. The biggest factor in performance of the Remote Play is the connection you use. The second biggest factor would be the device you are using and how well it is suited to run the app. This can be something as simply as using a device that runs an older Android OS that may not be able to properly run the app or detect your controller properly. The benefit on using the Portal is that you wont have to worry about any of that.
If your internet is that good that you can already play remote or stream ps plus games smoothly. The portal will suit you best
I can't imagine that would be the case really, like others have said, it should be as good if not slightly better :)
I remote play on a zfold4 whit dualsense at my cottage on 5g(bell) and it’s awesome.
Im a gamer dad and i have a switch, ps5 and pc.. the only play on the switch with my wife like you mentioned. Ive been saying this since they have announced this product. Can finally play some of the ps5 games lol. This is a great video it really hits home for all of the gamer parents out there.
Thanks very much, I just hope it's going to be great. I think it will be super useful, especially for casual-ish games like Diablo. I wonder how it'll do for online games with a competitive element, not that I do that any more... I get destroyed online these days 🥲
@@TheGameFatherUK I'm right there with you on the competitive front haha.
Works for me tbh I'm a dad and my son uses my TV to watch his shows and I have to play my ps5 when he sleeps so now I can play while he uses my TV
This is the way!
Honestly it’s aimed at whoever wants to play portable. I have a steam deck and a gaming laptop Bc I love the portable experience of playing games. If I didn’t have those devices and I had a ps5 I would definitely get this, I’ve used remote play and it’s pretty cool, this device is actually made for it so Ik it will be even better than using a phone, anyone who has pretty good internet and just simply want to play in bed or wherever in the house should get this.
As a gamer mum, I agree 100% with this video 😊😊
YES! The parent-gamer revolution is here (almost)!
1:12 omg I can’t tell you how true that is 😂that is jus straight truth
The only thing that bothers me is what if i get stick drift.....
Yeah, you have an excellent point there. I've been fortunate with the PS5 so far having no sign of it. Not sure if the smaller sticks from the PSVR 2 have addressed the drift issue?
"Love Island" -LOL!
Great video mate. Gamer dad here myself and totally agree with you.
36 years old with 2 kids
Your analysis was spot on 🤝
Oh I tell you what, playstation couldn't have released this at a better time. My life needs this device. Its a day ! No more complaining from the partner when I spend an hour playing playstation in a separate room 😅
This is exactly it!
I got a 7 month old daughter. I cant spend hours at a time in one room where mh ps5 is set up. With the portal, ill be able to take it on the go around the house. 😆
Even if I'm not a dad / parent I want it
Because I hate when other family members want the TV and I need to stop 😂
So it's good for everyone who has just one TV at home and is not alone 😁
You are 💯% right
its aimed at anyone that has decent wifi n wants to game on the go..dont understand the hate or misconception
I totally agree, dad mode is probably the hardest difficulty irl…check that, spouse mode is properly- the boss keeps one hitting me most fights. With all that being said sitting down with a handheld will feel more guilt-free and easier to disconnect from when family calls.
Totally agree! Gotta watch out for the boss spousal mechanics. It's next-gen AI, they can change at any given moment 😁
I’m like one minute in and he talking about me lol
I tried remote play on my phone and tablet and its still pretty inconsistent. 😅
Bummer! Did you have good network/internet connectivity?
I’m a 58 year old gamer dad and I think it’s pretty cool. Might not be for everyone, and that’s cool too! Cool video too! I’m not a fan of PS5 audio products as you need a dongle to connect it! My Xbox wireless headset connects to my Xbox Series X AND my mobile at the same time via Bluetooth, yet SONY couldn’t manage this??
They do love a bit of proprietary hardware, it's very frustrating! I'll definitely be checking in with reviewers that get theirs in December just to see what they think of the new audio devices. The price is the main thing that puts me off, seems very expensive to me.
I got my pre-order in the day they went live and now just days away from it arriving. Very excited! I'll use my Pulse 3D's with it, wired, until the Pulse Explore's get a price drop on Amazon or something. Good preview though, I just subbed.
Thank you! Yeah I might consider the new Pulse audio stuff if there is a decent discount at some point, but I couldn't justify the cost right now.
@@TheGameFatherUK yeah same, after the PS5, PSVR2, Pulse 3D, extra Dual Sense and now a Portal, I didn’t think I should be spending another £200 on earbuds. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the Portal, but then a little disappointed with the price of the Explore’s. A good discount next year and I might get them, if I feel I need them for Portal.
Im a dad and yes, the only ones that really get it!
I have a question if remote play is used whilst away from home, is that through a VPN? Or does that require something else?
That's really up to you, a VPN is not a must have to play via Remote Play, although some ISP's use a technology called CGNAT which does make things more complicated. You'd have to check with your provider to see if they use that. Otherwise, it should just be fine. You can always just test that on the free app on your phone, it's the same tech so if it works on your phone, it'll work on the portal :)
@@TheGameFatherUK Thank You, I have always been interested on how people access their PlayStation whilst away from their home.
It won't fail because a lot of people want to play their ps5 games on the go
This is going to single-handedly make life in my relationship better. I’ll be able to play my games away from home at my girlfriend’s house.
Another option is using COAX which is even faster than power line. If you don’t have cable anymore.
Where has it said that you’ll be able to play over 4G or 5G? You can’t do that at the moment via Remote Play! 🤔
you can connect to your phones wifi hotspot
@chechin is right. As long as you hotspot from your phone you can play via mobile data. You still must have a decent connection though and some providers like T-Mobile make it tough to configure. I use it via hotspot from my phone at least a couple of times per week, works great!
That’s interesting! Will give it a try… Thanks! 👍
I didn’t pre order but on the 15th I’m going on a mad dash to find one .
Good luck! I know it's been a mega sell out in Japan, but in the UK there still seems to be stock, not sure about elsewhere.
I have to agree with the people at the start. You kind of touched on why. It's not gonna appeal to a lot of ppl. I cancelled my order. The whole headphones issue put me off. Spending £130-200 extra for portable audio was enough for me to cancel. Will it fail. Dunno, depends on how many units Sony plan on shifting. Like others pointed out, they have loads of competitors who do it for a lot less. If you want the ps5 experience, hook up a controller. I'd of definitely got one of they didn't demand more money for headphone audio.
It's the biggest own goal for sure and you're right, time will tell if it's deemed a success or not. I think I'll personally get a lot out of it just from a convenience perspective, even if the sound situation is a pain point.
I like playing on a big screen. There's different tastes out there
Absolutely! I'd never want to give that up either. I think the Portal is about convenience and options. There are some games, like Alan Wake 2 for example, that I wouldn't dream of playing on a small screen.
I’ve pre ordered mine it looks amazing I can’t wait
Me too! Only a few days to go now, gonna have to set up camp on the doorstep mat on Wednesday!
I noticed you don't have very high upload speed. Is upload speed a factor for Remote Play to work well? I have 150mb download and while its usually symmetrical, sometimes my upload speed is really low.
Yeah I can't get full fibre where I live (yet), upload is certainly a factor when you're playing away from home. But it's not been an issue for me, I just about scrape over the 15mbps recommendation and my ISP is really solid. Just gotta wait for the new fibre!
Fantastic video!!! Summed up my thoughts exactly, you have just gained a sub!
Thank you!
OLED version might come up in the future is the product it is successful. OLED would have cost 100 quids extra
Definitely worth the extra if it does come out at that price point. I'd expect to see a lot of 2nd hand portals on the market it that happens 😅
Agreeeeeee!! This is great for us parents
I’m on the fence right now waiting for the first reviews
Review embargo I believe is lifted on Monday for all those that Sony sent one too early, for everyone else it'll be a case of waiting until Wednesday. I'm hoping to get something out by the weekend :)
Gotta get that network right though, I think there's gonna be a major review bomb because of poor wifi, lack of port forwarding and misunderstanding what the portal is and does.
Nice video, how has no one else picked up on this use case! This is exactly why I’m buying it.
As a non-mom but just someone who loves gaming, I just want to lie down and play from my bed for an hour or so before sleep. That's all I need from this accessory.
It's going to be amazing to play the Portal in bed!
Hi TheGamerFather, amazing video preview! You are very detailed and clear about the expectations of this new Sony device. I plan on getting it too and looking forward to it. Also looking forward to your review once it is out. Thank you.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and write that comment my friend!
I feel it’s more of hype device but time will tell
It certainly will and you may well be right. I think if remote play was already part of your gaming life then it'll be a fantastic upgrade.
Spot on man! While the missus wastes my beautiful tv on watching the kardashians I can at least make use of my ps5 now.
I've managed to avoid the Kardashians (thankfully), the Portal will be well used when Love Island is on the TV in our house!
You heard it here first. PS portal 2 will be OLED and cost $250 to $275
Everything you said is my life down to T😂🙈
Hah, there are more of us than I thought! I bought an extra TV as an initial attempt for the best of both worlds. That just created a different set of problems entirely. I've got big hopes for this!
@@TheGameFatherUK aw mate i feel your pain that’s exactly my situation! I paid a fortune for the new 65” Sony Bravia 120hz TV for the ultimate gaming experience now the only thing that’s on is Thomas the tank engine 😅 let’s hope this solves our problem buddy! Roll on Wednesday 🙌🏻

If it wasn't for th no Bluetooth, I would have bought the portal
If you can’t afford it, just say it. Don’t hate😂 This is and will be better than remote play on your phone or tablet
No doubt, a dedicated device will definitely have its advantages. No hate here though, had mine on pre-order since day 1 😇
Yes sir! 100% correct :)
you can also play it on your mobile hotspot game hopefully I'll get a response back
You only have one tv in your household, no phones no tablets…. People need to stop making that ridiculous argument for a useless product that’s obviously a cash grab.. and I’m a gaming dad
Great video man . Just had a son hope to use this while moving around the house
Congratulations! I think it's going to be great for pick up and play, especially for playing just around the house.
Watching this video on my phone as my 65” oled 120hz tv is being used to watch peppa pig on 😂😂. I see the benefit of the Portal 😊
If I could like your comment twice, I would!
Can’t wait for my PORTaL
It’s gonna be perfect when I’m over the in-laws and need to catch up on my massive backlog. 😂
Preordered and hyped!
Haha, are we the same person??? It's been a great year for games too. The backlog struggle is real!
I am curious of a couple of things. I think $200 is a bit high. I think it should be more around $150. my question is once it's activated to a PS5 is it permanently mated to that PS5 or could it be linked to other consoles? Meaning could it be sold second hand? Also curious how much better it works over regular remote play. I know the portal is supposedly optimized better than the regular app.
I think it should be able to be sold second hand because, when one sells their stuff they are most probably going to reset the device.
@@KamalTiwari82 I understand that. But I am wondering if it will be like the removable disc drive on the PS5 Slim. Once that is installed on the console and you activate it via internet, which is required for it to work, then that disc drive is then permanently mated to the console that activated it.
That's a good question. It won't be a permeant link and if it's anything like the Remote Play app, it prompts you to ask which console you want to connect to. So if those consoles are all connected via the same PS account, you should just be able to choose. Only a few days to go though until we can be sure :)
@@TheGameFatherUK yeah I am trying to be optimistic but I know Sony is notoriously anti consumer. Especially as of late so I am trying to not assume this will just be more of the same.
Great video! And I've thought this way about the Playstation Portal since it was announced. It's a great idea (for those it's intended for) and I am excited to get mine
The new buds do not support Bluetooth because that technology creates a lot of lag.
People complaining about it or hating on it if u cant afford it just say that.. its okay u dont need to hate or rain on everyone else’s parade who wants it.. yea u can use ur phone yea u can use ur laptop etc but dragging around ur laptop plus controller plus a charger etc just to play is not as convenient as having it all in one handheld
Exactly this!
I pre-ordered the Pulse Elite for £130, returned my Razer Barracuda X (2021) headset to Amazon for a full refund due to a faulty volume control. I was expecting the Portal to work with a wireless headset adapter the same way the PS5 works
I think we all were, the lack of Bluetooth audio is a downer for sure.
Tbh I still stand with “it’s gonna fail” category of the group, but will see what happens, and if I’m wrong then good cuz this might bring back the psvida or the psp
As a soon to be father, this device is really interesting to me. However, I'm a fair bit away from my router and live in an area with many overlapping signals, so maintaining stable connection is concerning. I'm wondering if could use a WiFi extender to bridge the PS5 and Portal, rather than my home router. Basically, put a repeater/extender in my room, connect my PS5 to it via ethernet, then connect to the extender's network on the Portal. Intuitively, since the home network is handling the streaming, this seems no different than being in the same room as the router itself.
That being said, I suspect the signal might pass through the router no matter what, in which case this isn't feasible at all. Since I will have a little human around, I'm hesitant to run a cable through the apartment, and I'm also not sure if ethernet-over-power would work in my place, as I live in Japan and have only dabbled in recreational electrician work.
You're not too far off from how I have it configured at home actually. I have a few access points around the house, two of which are connected via LAN over Power plugs. They're not 100% perfect, but they've been more reliable than just extending the WiFi. I couldn't comment about how it might be different in Japan unfortunately but it seems like something you might be able to try with little cost?
My portal arrived this morning, I am currently running it through some tests in different places (in and out of the house). I'll try and get a video up over the weekend with my findings, so far so good though!
@@TheGameFatherUK Thanks for the reply. I also have been playing around with mine since yesterday, it's pretty shocking how great it works. Even on my pretty bad router, I haven't had any stutters or anything, so long as my PS5 is wired in. Just a few disconnects here and there. And the quality is much higher than I thought on certain games, though I don't think there's any solution for games with a lot of foliage. Overall, it surpasses my expectations. I'll be on the lookout for your video!
Oh no no noooooo get those kids a tablet. That Tv is YOURS 😂😂😂
My nieces and nephews do not claim the televisions. They have fire tablets lol
But yes the portal is useful for certain people. Bad vision…😅And migraines don’t mix with wearing glasses. Now I won’t have to deal with my head hurting. :D
Crazy you said the exact reason why im getting it just became a dad recently and its perfect for that reason
Congratulations my friend! Enjoy the portal (and your child... obviously) 😀
@TheGameFatherUK thank you and too you as well 🙂
The one thing about the portal that I don't trust is that when I try to remote play with any other device the connection is trash. And I mean I have amazing connection in the house but for some reason remote play just sucks. I don't trust buying this and not being able to connect or getting stick drift in less than a year
Also now that I'm at the end of the video I'll be checking out the video for remote play tips next so fingers crossed
Question: If my brother has a PS5 a state away, can I benefit from a PlayStation portal? Can I connect to his account? I travel a lot for work. would I be able to play the portal?
It's a yes, but a slightly complicated yes. Assuming you have the account details there's no reason why you couldn't connect to it, if you have your own profile on there that would be even better. But, remember that it's a window into the PS5, so your brother wouldn't be able to play at the same time as you. Only 1 player session per PS5 at any given time :)
If you're on the fence about the idea. Just download the PS Remote Play app for free and give it a try before you spend the $$. Try before you buy!
@@TheGameFatherUK thanks. Will do!
I would assume there was an issue with cloud gaming so it’s not being release on launch, but an update. That’s wishful thinking so I wouldn’t get my hopes up, but I agree that it would make so much sense to cloud game on the portal
I agree, it seems like such an obvious thing to have included, there must be a reason why it's not. Hopeful for an update too!
100%👍
Nailed it.
Its gonna be soooo good
this just sounds like the switch 2 will ruin whatever train this is when it comes out, it should be standalone...
Great video. I'm really looking forward to your post-launch detailed review. I was decided to buy it, but now i'm having serious doubts: if i can't use it from a different network or from my phone's hot spot, then it's a no. I really don't want to be messing with router setup, port forwarding and stuff like that, because it's too complicated and has never worked for me in the past. I just want to grab and play.
Thanks! I'll be out and about with it as much as I can for a couple of days to see how reliable it is over hot spot and such. I do have port forwarding setup at home though which I'll mention in the follow-up, it can (and did for me) make a difference on the Remote Play app.
For me like you say its perfect!
