I can appreciate this video because she is explaining just some of the problems that we run into on a daily basics.Sometimes we think that we have all the answers to a particular situation , not knowing that it is so simple to get some knowledge from another source.
I made the terrible mistake of putting my almost 10yr old plant into a bigger pot, oh my goodness. Leaves turned yellow bunch of em died, Only 5 leaves left. I pulled the plant out of the bigger pot and found root rot😢☹️. So I cleaned up the dead roots and I noticed small nubs coming out (baby roots?) So I've placed the plant in water to see if more roots will grow and try to save the plant. It was a gift we got from funeral when someone passed away and we've had it for so long, sentimental. I'm praying 🙏 it will survive. Once more roots grow I'll plant it back in soil. It appears these plants do well in those plastic containers with the large wholes. Mine was in it for years and we put it in a fancy one with no wholes 🙈 costly mistake.
You can repot the plant in peat moss. I purchased a bag from Lowe's for $4.77 in the miracle grow brand. Sometimes regular garden soil can get too mushy after it remains saturated with water for so long. This causes the plants roots to turn brown and stop growing which causes the plant to decline. Don't let your plant get so dry that the leaves droop. Keep it watered to encourage new growth.
@@seekingserenity1209 reply yes I'd agree with you as when I changed the soil I found the new soil to be too mushy compared to the older soil. Once the plant new roots get a little bigger I'll definitely buy the soil you suggested and give it a go. Thanks!
My peace lily does the same thing. I have found that by running water thru the plant, rather than watering in the pot that gold water it perks back up. I have mine in the back porch in the shade and water it every couple days.
I recently received a peace lily from my Nana's funeral as a gift. My Nana was the best at growing plants. She once took one leaf and grew it into a plant :D I don't have that green thumb lol. Because I can't tell what is happening in the soil, I decided to grow my peace lily in water. We shall see. Thanks for sharing for us rookies!!
My case was it was under watered, followed your tip and couldn’t believe that the plant came from “droop” to alive in the matter of 2-3hrs... couldn’t believe it 😀 thanks!!
I take care of the root rot with peroxide and water. No cutting roots or any of that. I leave it in that solution until the leaves stop lifting. Then repot and don't water. If the leaves don't lift trim them. I'm sorry it didn't survive.
Kim Rashad Unfortunately it didn’t make it, so no update. i think i had already let it go on for too long. it just kept turning yellow all over until it wilted away, even though i allowed it to dry out. i hope you have better success than i did! 😞☺️
