    I made the terrible mistake of putting my almost 10yr old plant into a bigger pot, oh my goodness. Leaves turned yellow bunch of em died, Only 5 leaves left. I pulled the plant out of the bigger pot and found root rot😢☹️. So I cleaned up the dead roots and I noticed small nubs coming out (baby roots?) So I've placed the plant in water to see if more roots will grow and try to save the plant. It was a gift we got from funeral when someone passed away and we've had it for so long, sentimental. I'm praying 🙏 it will survive. Once more roots grow I'll plant it back in soil.
    It appears these plants do well in those plastic containers with the large wholes. Mine was in it for years and we put it in a fancy one with no wholes 🙈 costly mistake.

      You can repot the plant in peat moss. I purchased a bag from Lowe's for $4.77 in the miracle grow brand. Sometimes regular garden soil can get too mushy after it remains saturated with water for so long. This causes the plants roots to turn brown and stop growing which causes the plant to decline. Don't let your plant get so dry that the leaves droop. Keep it watered to encourage new growth.

    • @keshab9533
      @keshab9533 5 лет назад

      @@seekingserenity1209 reply yes I'd agree with you as when I changed the soil I found the new soil to be too mushy compared to the older soil. Once the plant new roots get a little bigger I'll definitely buy the soil you suggested and give it a go. Thanks!

So I cut bad roots let it dry added some neem oil for the roots and let it dry over night and repotted it and now it’s dropping more then ever. Brown spots and streaks can also develop if direct sun is hitting the plant. ... Overwatering and under-watering can cause leaves to wilt and the leaf edges to turn yellow or brown

    I had taken this plant home from my sons funeral. We decided to do 2 on either side of his coffin. They were both very large, dark green leaves and had flowers on them as well. Extremelly healthy specimens. Put them in a spot in my apt. that has light,but not direct sun. Did well but leaves would get droopy every 8-10 days. I took that as a sign it needed water. Watered from below, distilled water each time. Its a vicious cycle that has been happening for 2 months now each 8-10 days. Leaves are turning yellow here and there which I assumed would happen until it acclimated to my place ,from florist.
    Nope.
    #1. I purchased so I can have something to continue to grow in my sons memory, rather than flowers that just die.
    #2. It was the perfect specimen IN THE FLORIST
    #3. It is a low light plant, so what could go wrong!
    #4. WTH
    I am now going away for 10 days, so either this trip with me away will either nake it or break it.
    HELP😳
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
