Mary Wilson's beautiful alto filler voice along with Florence Ballard's soulful soprano voice in the background are Beautifully haunting & Iconic.. They had such great harmonies.. Ms. Wilson kept The Supremes going Top notch & relevant with the times for 17 years with Motown Records.. Her unexpected passing took the world for a Sad surprise in 2021.. She gave The BEST Concerts, always leaving the audiences with big smiles on their faces & expressed So Much Love.. I was blessed to see her in concert a handful of times in my lifetime. Check out some of The 70's Supremes golden Hits,, Floy Joy,, Nathan Jones,, Automatically Sunshine,, He's My Man,, Touch,, Up The Ladder To The Roof,, You Are The Heart Of Me... Rest In Heaven Lady SUPREME Mary Wilson & original Supreme Florence Ballard... Motown Rock n' Roll R&B Pop Music Royalty

The Supremes recorded on the Motown Record Label based in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit was the center of the automobile industry at the time so it got the nickname "Motor Town" and "Motown" was a play on that nickname. Motown was an African-American owned label and achieved great mainstream success. The music coming out of the Motown label was known for it's sleek production and pop appeal. Some of the other artists recording for Motown included The Temptations, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five, and many others. From 1961 to 1971 Motown had 110 top ten hit songs. One of the secrets to Motown's success was they had a core of very talented studio musicians playing on all of their songs. There was a great documentary about the mostly unheralded Motown musicians called "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". Trailer for the documentary: ruclips.net/video/2tqQBh2Ra_o/видео.htmlsi=963gge6OP7FQWqjL

Oh yes, the Supremes were _the_ female super group from MoTown, no two ways about it! I still listen to them on regular rotation on my car deck on my USB stick, and this song in particular, along with a number of others. Great music is timeless and so much of the Supremes and MoTown qualifies as timeless! As good in the 2020s as it was in the 1960s! 🎸💖😎

The music is a reflection of the times. That you appreciate it and recognize the difference with most music today, is parallel to recognizing basic changes in modern culture...not for the better. It's heartwarming to see young people (younger than me, anyway) who can listen and hear and appreciate the difference.

Thank you for your great reaction. The Supremes were one of the biggest recording artists on Motown Records (Motown is a nickname of Detroit, Michigan. The founder, Berry Gordy, started Motown with a $800 family loan and became one of the largest black owned companies in the U.S. Listening and learning about the Motown sound would be very rewarding. Please give a listen to Marvin Gaye “Inner City Blues,” What’s Goin On,”, The Four Tops “Ask the Lonely,” “I Can’t Help Myself” and “The Same Old Song” to start. Have fun.

The Supremes were one of the best Motown girl groups from the 60's. Most of their early material was written & produced by Berry Gordy or Smokey Robinson. They had so many great hits such as "Stop! In The Name Of Love", "Someday We'll Be Together", "Baby Love", "Where Did Our Love Go", "Back In My Arms Again", "I Hear A Symphony", "You Can't Hurry Love", "Love Is like An Itching In My Heart", "Love Is Here & Now You’re Gone", "You Keep Me Hangin' On", "Love Child" etc.

🇬🇧 Motown is my kinda music. I have always loved it. This was a hit in 1964, the year I was born. I like all kinds of music, but I much prefer music from yesteryear.
I don't listen to modern music either. Don't like it much. Although I do like Lewis Capaldi. 🎼🐾🎶

Motown was their own genre, and sadly they didn't keep it. Instead we ended up with Disco & the worst thing possible, Rap. The Supremes were a huge part of Motown, but there are so many more artists that made the 60's and early 70s special.

As a full on metalhead, who was born around the time this came out. I absolutely love this kind of music. I consider myself fortunate growing up in the area that I did, we had all different races, I myself am mixed race. I grew up, listening to the great oldies/rock ‘n’ roll of the 50s and early 60s, grew up listening to the rock ‘n’ roll of the 60s and 70s and became a full on metalhead with the metal of the 70s and 80s. But music like this always warms my soul. There is so much great music too much to list here, from the 50s and the 60s that you really need to listen to. I always and I mean always enjoy your reactions. You two are so much fun and your faces say it all. Keep listening and keep discovering great classic music. In doing that you are helping keep great music alive. 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙

    The 60s And 70s.
we're filled with songs about love, innocent love. Special love, one of a kind love. Remember 1969 was the year of the sexual revolution in the United States where people went wild. Everything was about love, the one you're width. Love love love, make love not war ,flower power, yeah. They were special times I see you guys listening to the music. The way you look at each other the smiles on your face and I put the tear in my eyes that you guys are learning. About the good music, the special music keep doing good work. Guys, love you. You guys are the best and you are funny. Make me laugh thank you
