Velma Review of Season 2 Episode 3 where Velma brings up the economy. Obviously Mindy Kaling knows lots about the economy, from the perspective of a lazy person who wants everything for free anyway. So what follows is an entirely deluded hate fest at the foundations of society, where she literally says she'd get out a sickle if she could just stand other people. Velma is basically the English but without any of the good bits in this episode, a MUSICAL episode. But what did you think of what you saw? To be fair I had to teach myself about her.
Marie Curie is only one of the most famous scientists ever BECAUSE she’s a woman. She’s also one of the most overrated scientists BECAUSE she’s a woman. Her name wouldn’t have even been included on the Nobel Prize in Physics she won if her husband Pierre hadn’t simped so hard on her behalf. A Nobel prize they also shared with Henri Becquerel who was the one who actually discovered “radioactivity” and Marie Curie is just the one credited with coining the term. Her Nobel Prize in Chemistry years later was for the same discoveries as the one in Physics and only she was credited because her husband was dead at that point and couldn’t receive his proper credit.
She lives in her little bubble.
Velma doesn't hate being rich. She hates people who have things she doesn't have. Which is why she hates Scooby Doo. Because it has humor and quality which she doesn't have.
And Scooby-Doo wasn't even that great to begin with, i mean many, many episodes are just copy and paste. Still, they are more enjoying that even 5 minutes of this preposterous travesty.

The show had genuine talent, innocent(and not so innocent) jokes, funny moments and iconic creatures. Even the live action movies had some charm. Tl:dr - would i watch Scooby-doo instead of Dexter's lab or samurai jack? Probably not. Would i watch it instead of Velma? Yes

It's a modern, secular form of the Catholic indulgences for sin. It's okay for Mindy to be a multimillionaire because she speaks for the peasantry by excoriating the wealthy. It's the same reason Amazon and other media corporations have so much anti-capitalist messaging in their products and so many of the leaders in environmentalist organizations fly all over the world and have huge, extravagant parties to celebrate themselves. It's okay when they do it because they're engaged in good works. That or they don't really believe what they say and just know it's the in vogue position to take.

It's scrappy, scrappy is the villain and he only goes for the crotch because that's around his height. So surprisingly they never bring up the fact that all the victims died to an animal attack, and scrappy is a super soldier so it's surprising that he never went for the throat or underbelly. Yet I'm sure it's girls think with their brains guys with their equipment and all the men die while the females get their lives back.
Mindy couldn't believe no one liked her show. So she made another season. Now she knows for sure no one likes her show. Except for those ten people in her inner circle who fight over who kisses her butt the most.

She was given a two season deal,from what I know,so even though the first season was a garbage fire she was contractually obligated to hand them two seasons of this dreck. I think that they did both of them before they even released season one tbh,so although the first season was ratioed,roasted and review bombed to hell this horrible crap got the greenlight due to contractual obligations. Pray that they didn't renew Kaling's contract to produce third and fourth seasons. 😒

Featuring a very based infant and a very based mechanical arm, both of which are more intelligent than any other characters in the show.
The people that Velma hate seems to be the characters that are actually decent people.

The reference from Velma over the world hunger and ammonia-based fertiliser production would be addressed by the Haber process, from Fritz Haber, a man who became so reviled people actively refused Nobel prize nominations so they wouldn't be associated with him. During a house party he threw, his wife walked outside and committed suicide. He believed his positive outcomes from the Haber process in generation of fertilisers that allowed the population explosion seen over the last 100 odd years (pre Process to now is around like a 6 times expansion) was a disaster, people misappropriating his work towards chemical warfare and genocide.
Haber was happiest when making people suffer. So he's just like Mindy and Velma in that respect...

It's verifiably false in the case of humans.
A study showed that giving young kids tests, and telling them "Good job! You're so smart!" Ended with them getting _lower_ test results and giving up quicker than the second group of kids, who were told "Good job! You worked so hard on that!"

Well Fred's family is portrayed to be the top rich ones. In season 1 they hire her dad to be the lawyer to defend Fred. So he must be a good lawyer for them to hire him as they wouldn't hire a bad lawyer or lawyer with little cases.

@@haku8135 her dad is a lawyer who was hired by one of the richest people in the show indicating he must be a pretty good lawyer. Her stepmum also works. Not to mention she goes to the same school as the guy from a ridiculously rich family who is in the top 1%. Unless the Jones moved to an area under their social class, you would expect Fred to either go to a very prestigious school or a private school. Or for them to live in a better/richer area (especially since they are so obsessed with their wealth and image) so the fact Velma attends his school, lives in the same area and her dad was hired by someone in the top 1% also indicate she is well off.

Anywau, Sure alchemy was a pseudo science, but it built chemistry into what it is today. She was a core part of that, specifically the usable bits.

Lol the black man asking for a urine sample to pass a test is one of the subplots of this episode? I have no problems with stereotypes, I'm black. But when it's done so unintelligently that it's actually kind of insulting. Im glad you're getting these reviews out quickly. I've heard other people say the show has scrappy doo of all characters as the end antagonist and i NEED to know if that's true
I'm 99.99% certain it is
There's a masked figure referred to as "Uncle Scooby" (name is a red herring, it is NOT Scooby-Doo) as well. But yeah, the killer really is Scrappy. The military manages to get Project Scooby running again, and the "super solider" that they create to spy on "meddlesome kids" turns out to be Scrappy. An invincible nightmare fuel version of Scrappy that turns on his makers within minutes, hides out who knows where while season 1 is happening, and then spends season 2 biting the dicks off of all the guys who helped to make him. But in the end killing him will be super easy, barely an inconvenience. Fortunately it only costs Velma's life to destroy him.
The pink dress is the same one Mindy wears in real life and Velma's taking the piss out of it. Finally, something I can get behind.

Season 2: Gets a haircut from Mrs. Nerdrotic, grows a beard, and becomes a professional manifester. I reckon the next part will be him manifesting an infinite season of Velma, and then he will become richer than Elon from reviewing it 😂

When normal weirdos write self-insert fanfiction, well, 1) they're a fan, and 2) said self-insert is normally a decent person.
But, _these_ kinds of self-inserts aren't done by normal weirdos. This is a case of potentially genuine narcissistic personality disorder.
I will say, the occult bookstore subverted my expectations. I thought that Thorne would be using it to not just cook her own meth (something I imagine she learned how to do sometime during her pregnancy with Amber) but as a front to sell the extra she wasn't going to take herself. But I guess that's the one crystal in her shop she's keeping all to herself.

When I was young, if our football fell into a particular garden, it would get knifed, no questions asked, and we would all get scolded by our parents, no matter who threw it. She gets an RC car on the street, it gets destroyed and people pay her as a sign of apology, but somehow I am privileged and her self insert is somehow oppressed. But then again, what to expect from someone who is best known from a crappy show that passes as "comedy" in the USA 🤷🏻 I just love how Velma ticks all the "stereotype" boxes, while talking to "evil white man" about how they are bad and that all stereotypes are wrong.
