Look at the Eray, which is a hybrid based on the Stingray, and it gets 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds, with 10.5 in 1/4 mile. Imagine if they do a z06 hybrid version?
The problem for the Eray is that it dosen't get a lot of range for being a hybrid that is its weak point.@@Northanteus

This is the reason the Laferrari was and still is my favorite of the Holy Trinity. Its reliable, fast, sounds amazing, looks great. Just such an amazing car.

@@MRJAYDANGEROUS no it didn't, the McLaren broke first race when Brooks was driving it. This is the 4th video with the Laferrari and it has not broken yet. Porsche is the only supercar brand more reliable then Ferrari. Some individual cars might be great like the Huracan but the brand all together is not as reliable.

The C8 ZO6 owner's manual says that after hitting the 500 mile break-in point, you need to turn off the engine, close all doors and let the car sit for 15 minutes to disable the torque limiter. Looked to me like you left the driver's side door open so you might not have had full torque that day.
What camera body are you using now. Haven't watched in a bit but the quality is stellar

If you’re looking for a fair fight on the basis of horsepower, Ferrari did make a 661bhp Ferrari 488 GTB.
But the Corvette C8 Z06 used the 458 Italia as a benchmark.

@@pitmie Yep! I considered only the na engines. The 599 GTO and Enzo would be better, similar power, but that’s it about similarity. They’re a world apart from the C8 Z06 in all other aspects.
It’s all about power to weight ratio. Also doesn’t the LaFerarri have it’s electric motor between the engine and trans plus another one up front that helps it launch?

The Z06 is super cool, but wait for the ZR1 and Zora
ZR1 is going to have twin turbos strapped to the Z06's 5.5l V8 making over 800hp, RWD.
Zora will have the TT V8 from the ZR1 and the dual front electric motors from the E-Ray making it AWD with around 1,000hp.
Going to the track in my Chevy to race a some Ferraris if cool. Beating one of them… priceless.
This is a case study in the difference between a Super Car and a Hyper Car.

I love the mid engine Vette - it's a competitor in street races or on he highway. Biggest flaw? For an expensive sports car, it takes FOREVER to get into the high band speeds, say 150- 180. (Not sure why). Dollar for dollar, there are others out there that carry that speed right thru to top end, (911's, BMW, Supra, etc..@@JohnWinzil

That's not very likely. Against modern hyper-cars its not likely to be that fast unless it the ZR1 finds a way to seriously save weight. A 1000bhp ZR1 for instance would probably be about equal to the McLaren 765LT. Also the ZR1 while expected to be cheaper, isn't ever going to be cheap! - The Z06 and Stingray launch very well indeed but sadly have been very mediocre straight line performers. I still think it's an amazing thing, it looks great, sounds incredible and the Z06 is fast at the track so there's not too much too complain about!

And the ZR1 is gonna be 800bhp car which means a high 9 second car for 200k being that the Z06 and the E-ray both can achieve that and in fact Emilia took a barly broke in Z06 ti the track and got 10.4 in just a few runs whoops!🤭 And cheap is a relative term for what it is so for the performance per dollar camparible just like the E-ray and Z06 it will be “cheap” as you put it. You get loads of carbon fiber, the look, the performance of much higher sports and supercars……..the AWD TT Zora will compeat with said HyperCars for a fraction of the cost Whoops! 😜

The Huracan was also considered to not be class leading when it came out 10 years ago, although to be fair Lamborghinis are very rarely class leading, they are more about style/noise which of course they excel at. I wonder if the ZR1 will make it into the 9’s, hopefully there can be some serious weight saving if it has 800bhp and then I think as you’ve said it could get into the high 9’s.

Curious to see this new z06 running with the c6 and c7 ZR1's ... From standing still and a roll on
I’m very curious about this too. I see the dragy times on 1/4 mile runs and it looks to me like the C8 ZO6 is a force off the line through 60 mph, however the 60-130 time is only (ha, only I say) 8.0 seconds. That’s not as quick as a C7 ZO6. Now I’m not seeing DA data or any of that, so I want to see it live, but I know first hand as a C7 ZO6 owner that it will run 6.8-7.5 seconds 60-130. I am waiting for direct comparison of the C5/C6/C7/C8 performance that will include 60-130 times. Clearly Drag Times is a drag racing channel, so we may not see that here since neither the C5 nor the C6 will even hit 130 in the 1/4 mile, and it takes a tire for the C7 to do it. That comparison will be from a roll.

Motormatchup is cool, If you like playing with the curve on the Dyno graph it will; go back to stock curves when you want to change something.
Trick is to. Leave your previous torque amount hit ok (changes your curve to stock again) then go to tires and press apply. Go back to the curve and your previous changes in the curve will be up. Aggravating when it does that and you have to start all over.

Chevrolet needs to be more clear to owners regarding break-in. Yes, the rev-limiter expands after 500 miles, but they still don't recommend heavy thermal loads (i.e. racing) until after 1,500 miles. Personally, I would change the oil at 500 and again at 1,500 since the bearings have a sacrificial, malleable layer on them. Since people don't like to read anymore, the owner's manual becomes just another souvenir, but here is a great video on the topic.

Drag racing isn't considered racing in the same context as the owners manual. They don't want you to be doing road course sessions until after 1500 miles where there is constant acceleration and hard braking for long periods of time. Drag races are over in 10-11 seconds and are only done a few times which is perfectly acceptable.

Possibly in SavageGeese's video is one example. But yeah, drag racing is considered "street" activities and only the Road Course is meant for "Racing".

Stop mentioning year like it means something. a 918 is still faster than an F8 even though it is 10 years older. What does that mean? that the 918 has more power, nothing more. compares cars by category and price. Laferrari is not in the same category as a Z06, and like I said, it costs millions, it's more powerful, it's lighter. beating ZO6 is not an achievement, it's an obligation. just as the P1 is still faster than the 765LT or the Senna. because P1, Laferrari, and 918 are hypercars. Z06 should be compared against cars like R8, Huracán, GT3 etc... but it seems you are too dumb to understand that
yeah, let's put a 600k/1000hp SF90 and another 350k/ 819hp 296 to race against a 160k Z06.... let's also put a Senna against an R8, a Chyron against a Turbo S and a Nevera against a F8...

Can anyone tell me why the Laferrari is having a lot of difficulty pulling traction on this drag strip? because in all the videos they made of this LaFerrari, I could see that when it stopped it was having a lot of difficulties in traction and doing a good drag race, I believe that the problem is not entirely with the driver who is driving, but the problem would probably be with the tires on which the laferrari is using it. Laferraris actually get better traction than mclarens in general. It's just that hypercar mclaren pound for pound are just faster than anything else on the road with the same horsepower. Mclaren has the best aerodynamics of any supercars, nonetheless I still like ferraris better.
Even my -08 stock C6 is faster than the 458 Spider.
