  • There is perhaps no one better at doing heritage reissues than Longines. Over the last 5 years, we have seen some great pieces get released that were inspired by the brand's archive, however, in this video, we perhaps look at their best work yet with this Heritage Classic Sector.

    Longiness always grabs my attention. The blue hands gives this watch the perfect mix of class and sportivity. One of the highlights is the size. Many brands forget.how good 38,5 mm looks both.in smaller than in bigger wrists. Another great review Teddy! Congratulations!

    That is an amazing looking watch! They really tweaked it to perfection. And, it looks to be the exact right size for your wrist. I like when a watch not only looks good close up, but also fades back in the right degree when viewed from a distance. This tells you that they got the small details, line widths, and shading right. This is a home run for Longines. The time spent on this really shows. Whenever you can best a watch 5 times more expensive, you've done something very special.

    "who is this for?" Me: "raises hand!" I loved the way you captured the glint of light on those hands, as well as all the videography as always. So gorgeous, but then when you showed the JLC I thought oh I'd really have loved to have seen raised metal arabic numbers on this dial. but still, it gets an 11 out of 10

    Have to agree teddy ,,,this is a cracking watch ,,I’ve always liked the look of Longines watches and this is no exception..I personally would have liked an exhibition case back ,,,I would love to see the movement,,,but I suppose that would defeat the point of keeping as true to the original design as possible...thanks again teddy ,looking forward to the next one ❤️

    Recently picked up the Longines 18 carat Elegant with the L888.2 movement(65 hour power reserve) with Roman numerals on the dial and a sexy patent genuine alligator leather strap and I know that not all things Longines epitomise the companies heritage but this watch you’ve appraised in this video and the Heritage diver 1967 are probably the best to date in that respect.
    Nice pics by the way.

    Great watch! I think its design is pretty versatile. You could wear it for a formal meeting as well as you showed in the video with a denim shirt and casual shoes. The look of it is neat. I hate extremes, that is, when dials are so busy you can´t even tell the time, and when they're so simple you don't even bother to look at it, execpt for the need to know what time it is. I know I like pieces because I simply love to see them and admire their craftmanship.

    Love a lot of the Longines Heritage range. As long as I can remember my dad has had a Longines or two in his collection. But for the most part they just didn't do it for me. The Heritage collection just takes the brand to another level in my book.
    If I had one gripe about this model it's the 19mm strap but that is me just being picky. If I were never to change the strap then I wouldn't care in the slightest. 😀

    Hi Teddy,
    With the Tudor BB 58 Blue as the sporty watch in my two-watch collection, I ordered this Longines Heritage Sector watch (white dial with the blue-ish strap) as the second watch. However because I am re-considering to keep this or to purchase a 35 mm Nomos Orion as the dress watch in my collection.
    I have a 6.25 inch wrist, and I enjoy small, medium, and even large size watches (preferably with a not-so-long lug-to-lug measurement). I work from home and my wardrobe is mostly casual with some smart-casual clothes (oxford or chinos), and the occasional suit-and-tie for weddings and events (I do like dressing up). Do you think the Orion is too elegant for casual to smart-casual clothes most days, or do you think maybe I just like the idea of an elegant dress watch? Do you think it's better to dress the Longines Sector up for my outfit, or is it better to dress down the Orion for my outfits?

    • @trupcb
      @trupcb 3 года назад

      I really did not want a date, so I went with the JLC sector Geographic, fantastic piece. Said that, this Longines for 2K seems a great option. Is it worth x4 price for the JLC? Well, that’s subjective i think. The case details and finish is different league, as well as the brand and movement. I wanted a JLC badly I and already have a Longines (hydroconquest which i love) so for me it’s worth. If i would have bought a non-sector JLC i’d certainly get this one next! Good job Longines.

    Hi Teddy,
    Thanks again for another great review. I have a question. What are the main differences between Longines Heritage Classic that you just reviewed and the Longines Classic Tuxedo? They look slightly different but they are very similar regarding movement, strap, case and functions. However the former costs GBP 1,800 in the UK vs GBP 1,570. Do you have any idea why the difference in price?
    Thanks in advance for your time and attention

    The relatively new Longines 1946 Chronograph seems to be a homerun as well. The Hamiltion Intramatic Chrono, BlackBay 58, and those two Longines are probably the best vintage inspired modern watches. I love the new Breitling Toptime too but I'm not even considering spending that kind of money on a watch with everything going on in 2020.
