IMO you're underselling the killer feature of Onion OS, which is that every time you power down the system with a quick power button hold, it also automatically save states where you are. Then when you boot the machine back up, it auto-loads the last game you played and also loads that save state. So you can get into and out of a game WAY quicker than basically any other handheld emulator. This makes it really perfect in the pocket factor, because you can so quickly pull it out and be gaming, and just as quickly put it away. Perfect for waiting for the train, a short car ride, killing 5 or 10 minutes here and there. I use it almost exclusively as my pokemon GBA romhack player. It's the perfect size to play RPGs 1-handed

Ever sense my job switched over to iphones I've been digging into these little portable emulators. I currently use the RG3000 which at the time of purchase was $35 on Amazon. So far I've been happy with battery life and I primarily use it for gb, gbc, and gba emulation. It does have snes, nes, and a few 64 and PS1 games that run okay.

These retro game handhelds are tempting for me not for nostalgia sake, because I never had one growing up, but mainly to see what I missed out on playing!

In my head I'd put ps1 emulation at around the $100 mark.
It being able to do that at its price is pretty amazing.
Hell no to the form factor tho. Would be great if there were instructions to transplant this thing into a 3d printed case to move it to the gba form factor so the L and R buttons aren't horribly uncomfortable to use.

This thing is practically impossible to get in the US at the moment. I was selling these for about 65-70 each after getting them straight from a factory in bulk this summer. Then one day the seller just stopped filling orders. They said the factory was having issues getting the displays. And that they wouldn't be able to get more until mid August. Well, be late September they still weren't able to even send out 5 units at a time. So I gave up. Right now they're going for like 120-150 depending on the color, and you still might be waiting for overseas shipping times at that price.
All that Said, this thing is still fantastic. Just please don't go around spending 150 bucks on one, when they are almost certainly going to be available for closer to 50-60 by spring.

Great pick, nice that you got yourself one. Happy with mine and love the form factor. I was hoping in the past to get the bittboy 2, but it sold out very fast where I was from. Almost immediately after I see the new model is selling for like 45 bucks after tax and shipping lol. I like the old model with a non corded battery though, it seems more modern.

I have one and I love it. It runs c64 and floppy emulation without dropping a frame (switching on VIC video emulation or reSID does however!), The 640x480 screen is awesome, and it's SO TINY! The only negative thing about it that the battery lid likes falling off because the closing latch mechanism isn't tight enough...

The pocket go has a lower refresh rate (30 hz) which causes screen tearing, plus the screen resolution is only 320×240.
It barely runs SNES games and very few ps1 games can run at all.
The Pocket Go and MIYOO mini is definitely not in the same league.

The thing that makes this handheld better than most anything else in it's price range is the community support. There are so many customization options, both physically and digitally.
But Wulff Den makes a good point that if you can't get the Miyoo Mini at MSRP, then you should just go with a Retroid Pocket 3 instead. The Miyoo Mini's official price point makes it right on the cusp of being worth it; a higher price is too much.
I'm hoping that their next version will be a Miyoo Mini XL that is about 1.25 - 1.5 times bigger.
