Hey Joshua, RUclips just recommended this channel, its like google is reading my mind- I am envisioning creating some films via unreal but as I am yet to start learning the tools, I am a bit lost of how much I can pull it off with perseverance and without having a team.I wish if you could start a series for newbies like me- thank u!
This could be really powerful to use in conjunction with Wonder Dynamics AI Animation once the tool is more developed for studio level production! Thanks for always showcasing new developments in VP
I was under the impression you can already do the location walk around with VR Scouting in Unreal and a VR headset without having to leave your home. I haven't personally tried it yet, but I'm excited to Experiment soon as I have several VR headsets
@@JoshuaMKerr Ah ok, your missing out lol Thats if your into 1st person shooters, and the million other forms of Gaming on the Quest. I own 4 headsets, so yea Im hooked jhaha :)
So , as a beginner, what is the best setup for me? I’m trying to get into Unreal and I want to do virtual production, but I have no idea where to start
Great demo! Cool product. Trying the free version. Have Autoshot plugin installed properly in Blender and everything with the image plane and material seems to work properly but I'm not seeing the Autoshot node tree when I open the compositor. Just the regular Render Layers node. Anyone else having this issue?
Very cool, thanks for the detailed **giggle** walkthrough... I really like this approach.. when it comes to physical location scouting, do you have a recommendation for an app or tool that would be best to quickly capture a location during a recce? I am thinking it could be useful for documentaries and site specific videos of a factory for example to rapidly capture the 3D environment and then be able to plan out shots after the fact, and then return to it with a solid shot list that is based on recce + virtual production plan. thanks
Can you please point me to the right direction .. i want to start learning UE5 from scratch , what courses should i begin with ? until my journey ends where You are now in Virtual filmmaking !!
Been trying to learn unreal engine hopefully you do more longer tutorials on unreal film making and more also if you recommend any other videos to watch or paid courses that would be great.
@@JoshuaMKerr sounds good. I'm trying to do something similar to your set up for low budget feature films. I've done a very quick short film on the huge VP stage at Xplor in Wakefield, it's on my channel, but I'm planning low budget green screen operation for zero budget horror stuff for RUclips
Im not sure about full shorts, but if you're looking for some results, this is a very good one done by compositing academy. ruclips.net/video/TUPGJj4TjMk/видео.htmlsi=70Ka_curTnF9wc92
The tracking seemed jumpy - almost low frame rate. Wouldn't that transfer over to the path traced version later on making it unusable for the final shot? Or is there some kind of smoothing filter that can be applied that would make it look natural and very believable?
The tracking was fine. The shots were handheld so the footage is quite jittery. better to use a gimbal or mount it on a rig to avoid that. You wouldn't get better tracking from a phone, but as I say the developers have some interesting tricks for the future.
Yes -- I do most of my testing with a 12 Pro Max. Jetset works with earlier non-LiDAR phones, but the LiDAR is a huge help for tracking and lets you do 3D scans of the location which is extremely helpful for post production work. The newer phones have better GPUs and cooling, though.
It's a pro tool. So unless you'd use it regularly, you probably just want to buy when you're in production. Edit: Yes, as Eliot says, it does have a free version. The paid options open up a lot more features for professionals, but it's great that it can be used by anyone for tracking.
The Jetset base version is free, and can record full camera tracks that our Autoshot post system can then convert into Blender, Unreal, After Effects, C4D, etc.
@@eliotmack When I hit save and run in Autoshot, Blender opens with the footage I shot and the tracked camera. But the background (x wing trench run) doesn't load with it. Am I missing something? Is this only available with the paid version?
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Must check it out!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

you are my favorite fellow nerd, although your level of skills is beyond mine. Nice to see your growth. Keep it up!
Thank you, fellow nerd!

No worries, I enjoy making these video for you all! I'd be interested in that type of integration too.
Dude got a green cat 7:24 - commitment.

This was just my quirky way of illustrating the merits of leaving the house. I also dont have any vr headsets.

Thanks for watching

Are you still having this problem. Maybe head over to my discord and post in the support forum. Then you can add images of what you're seeing.
I think Sony or Blackmagic (Prob more so BM) will have built in 3D camera tracking in future cameras (LIDAR etc)
That would be a step ahead for them.

hmm done some googling - wonder if you agree NeRF + Luma AI is the answer for this type of workflow? thanks
Have you tried reality scan or polycam?

Ill have a course out in s couple of months
@@JoshuaMKerr waithing for it...!!!
Working on it
Cool. 👍
@ 7.26 is that a cat or dog behind you? Looks cute ☺
Haha, yeah I get photobombed by my cats all the time.
@@JoshuaMKerr i really learned alot from you Joshua. I'll keep supporting you 🤝
Cheers man!
Great demonstration
Thanks man

Planning a course of my own :)
@@JoshuaMKerr Interesting hopefully it's for beginners and goes very into detail with cinematics and film making I will keep a look out.
@@JoshuaMKerr take my money please.
Haha, it'll probably be a month before I start doing them. Planning them as live sessions 2-4hrs

Awesome
Wow! This is amazing!
I think so :)
need a video using this on the apple vision Pro
That would be interesting...wish I had one.

Thank you, but I need to make cartoon. Can you please tell what is the correct aspect ratio?
I'm not sure what you mean. There are many aspect rations to choose form. Most common is 16:9
Ok thank you I will use it.
is this like CamtrackAR which is amazing btw!
Similar, but I think this has more features
@@JoshuaMKerr thanks for replying
so coo! thank you :)
No problem 😊
What iPhone did you use? Can iPhone 12 pro do this?
This was the 15 pro max, Im not familiar with the 12, so I couldn't say for sure

🔥🔥🔥
Too bad you only get the apps for iPhone, don't you have them on Android?
Im afraid not. The lidar on the iPhone and the consistent build quality of the components make iphone the only viable device at the moment.
I thought that was a green ghost at 7:27 🐈
Spooky...
what is the android version of this ?
Its just on iPhone because it has the processing power and lidar sensor
i'm sad that the subscription is so expensive

Skyglass is better
how so? At a glance Jetset is more targeted at professionals and has more useful features. Keen to hear your thoughts.
@@JoshuaMKerrway better why tf u hating ur a big creator such a nerd 😭😭
What makes you think I hate skyglass. Im just pointing out its entry level. But nerd...yes, yes very much.
@@JoshuaMKerr cold response
jetset cine costs too much. without abilityto export to unreal, it's useless :(
Have you looked at the free tier? Or looked at the cost of decent entry-level trackers, they can be even more expensive.
