    Great tips! Especially about the preview render. Just tried it and it works with a level sequence as well! Just hit play and it follows all shots in the sequence. That saves me the time of rendering out product and not seeing the final version until its loaded into the editor. Thanks for this

    Boss, put the level sequence into the scene and check Auto Play - Infinite Loop. However, in the new material system of ue5.4 substrate, it is normal to run the simulation, but the tonal exposure using the built-in MRQ rendering output becomes difficult. It's the same - no matter what I do, the MRQ rendering output in the new material system of ue5.4 substrate is inconsistent with the viewport preview. . .

    • @JoshToonen

      Check out "How to Make a Samurai Film in UE5" on my channel! There's clean up involved, but if you're not using swords (where two hands have to hold an object) it's not too bad out of the box!

  • @rodolfoaraujovanucchi7395
    @rodolfoaraujovanucchi7395 9 месяцев назад

    Hey, the unreal has a bug when you detach an actor that is attached to an actor that already is attached to another.
    For example in your case the stage actor is the first actor without any attachment. Then we have the samurais. If i try to make the samurai (first attached) take an apple (second attached) from the ground and then leaving it with the attachment/dettachment system, the object simply teleports (like it doenst save his position anymore).
    Do you know how to solve this bug? (i already changed the "preserve current" in the attach options).

  • @rodolfoaraujovanucchi7395
    @rodolfoaraujovanucchi7395 11 месяцев назад

    Thaaanks a lot bro! Where did ou learn all this stuff? Only reading the documentation?
    There is a way better to organize the actors in the sequencer? Even with folders, some times i struggle to animate several actors in only one sequencer.

    • @JoshToonen
      @JoshToonen  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Rodolf! Documentation but mostly trial and error and trial and error and.......
      Look into Subsequence Tracks if you're looking to separate actors into their own sequences (you can nest any sequence inside another sequence with these)

    • @JoshToonen
      @JoshToonen  11 месяцев назад +1

      Whatever’s easiest, we created the assets so we knew which material slot did what, but most assets (Quixel assets at least!) just have one material slot anyways. But the guess and check method never fails!

But if I have some mo cap where 2 guys are fighting and I want to slightly retime (slow down or speed up) individual animations, is this possible please in UE5? I know I can change play rate in properties, but you cannot keyframe this! Any way to do this please?

    Hey Josh. Great video :) Im new to Unreal and I was wondering how the workflow is if you want more than one level/background. Do you go over that in your course? Can you work with multiple levels/backgrounds in one Unreal project? Or do I need to create one project for one environment?

    One i still haven't find yet who could clearly step up my game is how to animate a camera based on my spacemouse's movements, anyone have a solution for this ?
    Seriously everytime i navigate my scenes with my spacemouse i'm wondering if this is possible because that could enable some very creative workflow !

    • @JoshToonen
      @JoshToonen  11 месяцев назад +1

      I've never used a Spacemouse tbh, but look into creating some custom hotkeys for it!

    • @Franckie.G
      @Franckie.G 11 месяцев назад

      @@JoshToonenFirst ( my previous comment was cut here ^^´ ) huge thanks for your incredible tutorials . It’ already super helpful for diving deeper into UE5.
      Regarding the space mouse, I really appreciate your hotkey suggestion but not sure if i correctly explained my problem .
      For example without spacemouse when you’re navigating your 3D scene in Unreal Engine 5 using your mouse and keyboard, how will capturing those spontaneous movements as you explore ?
      If you wanted to record those movements exactly as you made them, turning them into a camera animation path within the Level Sequencer, how would you approach it?
      That’s essentially the challenge I’m facing with my space mouse
      I’m looking for a way to directly record these navigations to refine them into dynamic camera sequences.
      To give you a bit more context, I’ve already got this plugin that lets me navigate through my 3D scenes as if I’m controlling a camera directly with the space mouse.
      It’s fantastic for creating dynamic camera movements like if i was controlling a very precise drone ´s camera that I’d love to capture as animations within the Level Sequencer.
      However, even with this setup, I’m hitting a snag when it comes to recording these movements as camera animations.
      I’m curious if you have any insights on using perhaps the Sequencer or maybe the Take Recorder to capture these movements as camera animations (because in the viewport it's already reacting to my spacemouse) ?
      I’m looking for a way to directly record the camera paths I create with the space mouse, but so far, I haven’t found a way to do this within UE5’s existing framework.
      If you have any suggestions or could point me towards a feature or tool within UE5 that I might be overlooking, it would be massively helpful. I’m really keen on preserving the originality of these movements in my projects.
      Thanks again for all the help and inspiration.
