That blueprintue website looks amazing. Others even share codes for a general idea how to do something. I'm in a very stressful state with trying to learn unreal engine because i have no instant response to questions, so at least with this i can sorta see how something is being used and possible nodes i need to use and how others are doing things. Thanks for this.

I am using chatgpt to code my game; obviously, he cant give you exact answers on how to blueprint stuff, but saying "hey, i am creating a bossfight and I need projectiles to follow the player - where should i start?" helps immensly in getting a starting point and loosing a lot of stress. 90 percent of the time his answers are worthless, but they get me on the right track in terms of research videos, forum posts or nodes and blueprint functions I didnt know about. The last two months were amazing this way. Oh and by the way; you can ask him 20 times if you didnt get something, unlike some people on the internet and in forums, that react very negatively if a beginner reaches out and basically gatekeeps newbies.

    good video!
8:47 the imo best way is to just use the space bar to cycle between move, scale and rotate,
instead of using 3 different keys. it's also really fast, once you're used to it, and you can use the W, E, R keys for other shortcuts.

Awesome tutorial thanks for all the information. I was surprised you went over the end key, not a lot of people talk about that one. To add on to your tips for a translate rotate and scale if you hit the space bar it will alternate between those three. And for the website with the blueprints I believe it also does materials I had just learned about this one today from my supervisor

About Move/Rotate/Scale of objects, also remember - "Spacebar" cycles those 3 modes.
And, one UE5 interface specific thing. If you are like me, and want your content browser on secondary screen, in UE5 (not 4) case, choose "Browser 2" for that, not "Browser 1". Seems that "1" is kind of hard-locked to that sill drawer "feature", introduced in UE5.

Quick question, can you take an actor/object and unmerge or dismantle it into different parts? For example, if you have a fountain object but you just want the statue in the fountain, can you cut it out from the rest? Great video though, gives me many more things to try!

    • @UnrealUniversity

Is there a similar way to edit pivot point in UE4?
btw 12:52 "A bit more complex"? Wow thats an understatement xDD
Should have warned noobies that this collision mesh is crazy complex even for a static object. And would be cool if you mentioned that complex as simple is almost only for static objects.
But either way, love your content! Thank you!

@@UnrealUniversity They really start to build up after a while, don't they. Appreciate the reply, if they could figure out a secondary library system, one that would be able to hide those not used often or at least be able to put them in alphabetical order, that would be helpful.
Thanks again, great video as usual.

  • @JairusC
    @JairusC 10 месяцев назад +1

    Tip #3
You can hold Alt+Shift and Scroll Button to adjust the Pivot as well. If you hold V with the previous combinatuon, you can lock it to a vertex.
(I'm drunk rn while watching this, so I'll have to double check in the morning if these were the right combos)
    EDIT:
It's just Scroll button on the pivot and you can move it. While scroll button is held you can then hold Alt + V to enable vertices and snap to it. Just know it's pretty finnicky with the vertex snapping.
Thanks for the wonderful video btw!
