Building The Perfect EK9: Part 5

- There ain't anything glamourous about this video, folks. I spent some time scraping, grinding, and stripping the wheel wells and underbody... trying to get some of the old coatings off. I cleaned up a few surface rust spots so I can treat those areas before sealing and priming everything.
Grind. Wipe. Clean. Repeat.
If you are going to do this on your car, be sure to use these two main tools:
1) oscillating scraper (prevents massive amounts of dust and mess. This allows for most of the thick patches to come off in sheets)
2) twisted wire wheel (or cone) that screws to an angle grinder. (high torque and high stripping power. This is going to make a huge mess but it eats through any coating and doesn't damage the steel panel)
Wear a mask and safety glasses or a face shield because you certainly don't want to breathe any of it in.
Thanks for watching!

Wonderful stuff, reminds me of my EK9, tons of work gone in, but in the end, so worth it!
Waiting for part 6, and 7 and 8............ keep it coming!!
My wheel wells and belly of my build took 2 weeks to completely strip. Re-sealed it with rock-it bedliner. It came out far better then my expectations. Just beautiful. I found zero rust in my 95 civic. I couldn't believe it. Nothing! If you havnt seal the belly yet get rock-it bedliner. I promise you will not be disappointed! The restoration shop next to my home is who originally recommended using it.
Can't wait to get my shell back from paint. Loving your build
I love resto builds
It was pretty satisfying seeing the undercoat come off in the time lapse. Great progress on the car man!
I’ve came back to this video 50x lol it’s gonna be a great build
Yea, we’ve been racing and haven’t had much time for this project but more updates are coming soon!
@@hybridracing yea it’s literally the perfect EK, can’t wait to see the final result. Guys please consider me if you ever choose to sell it!
@@hybridracing I’d def pay your asking price
@@hybridracing still intrested in buying it bro, if you change your mind let me know
I'm interested to see what you guys do about the rust spot under the bulk head. I also have a brake line tuck kit like that in my K swaped CRX and I didn't think to put silicone in there. Keep pushing! Thins thing is going to turn out amazing!!
Oh yeah, and thanks for the awsome customer support David! K swaped CRX has been running like a dream since we solved that voltage irregultie issue!

Is this ek9 still being worked on or is done?
Any update?
Where part 6?
Any updates?
Dumb question here
Are you using a Oscillating Multi-Tool to remove the skin on wheel well?
If would sell it, please let me buy it, thanks.

What is the current status?
Still sitting on jack stands, unfortunately. I'll be able to give the car more attention in the coming weeks. Once the underside is finished, the suspension can be installed.
