@@willsintheair Yeah, I'm a parenting blogger in South Africa, and this would be great to create more versatile videos that includes more products and stuff. Unfortunately, it's probably going to take FOREVER to get here. I don't think we even have a local Sony camera department on the continent.

Three things...
1. I'm more impressed by the product showcasing mode than the video quality. It's not bad, but it still looks digital to me.
2. VERY good in depth video as usual!

Rode videomicro hack: the grooves in the tightening ring are to clip the cable into, this stops it flopping round so much and helps the rycote mount work better, also help cut some handling noise too.

I've weirdly had snapping noises on my audio from this mic. Otherwise it's great. It'll be on a tripod not moving and I'll still get these pops in editing. Anyone have a solution?

Oh my god this thing is SO EXCITING. It’s almost perfect, I just wish they’d have made it as wide as a 16 mm or at least 20 mm
I think Sony purposely cripples some of the features; so that they can sell the better mark II, mark III and so on in the upcoming years.

Wow that product focus is to DIE FOR! The amount of times I've waited 10 seconds plus for my Panasonic Fz1000m2 to focus on a item is just plane rediculous. I love how quick the auto focus reacts. Need one, want one, now gotta win the lottery to get one. 😂

I love the product focus feature and the built in ND filter! I wish more cameras did that. Imagine the BMPCC4K with those features. Id sell my kidney to buy that camera

Maybe the ZV-2 will have the 16-70mm lens + 4K60, but looks like they're going the right direction :)

How does the Rode Videomicro dead-cat go with the lens? We've had issues with it going into the frame of our GoPro, but it's not an issue with our DSLR which has a longer lens. Also, that Product Showcasing mode looks amazing!
Edit: I meant the first dead-cat, the one from the shotgun mic.
I guess since it only goes down to 24mm you won‘t be able to see any deadcat fur unless you got a really long mic :P
With a gopro i dońt wonder since those are ultrawide

Money Tri M43 is still being often preferred for professional television production, especially in documentary over full frame, don’t think just because RUclipsrs are using it that it is what professionals will pick first for broadcast.

So it's basically my RX100 MarkIV with mic input and instead of flip to top its flip to the side. But same codecs, sensor, same lens, same ND filters builtin, etc.
Now if they had added a 16, 18, or 20mm on the wide, I could see upgrading.
Yeah when you're in active that crap will kill your vlog image for sure. Face & nothing else, Sony listened to many of our gripes from RX100 though I'll say that
I'm the type of person who goes "Here we go again.." the instant someone takes out their camera, was never into photography and am personally not comfortable around cameras.
That being said, your videos always manage to keep me interested and entertained till the last few secs of it, which is rather rare esp. for 'vlog type' content as I often have to skip certain parts in even the ones from my longtime fav youtubers.
So yeah, I believe you're doing something amazing here. Infact, since the last couple of weeks that i've started to watch your content, I'm starting to grow from my initial annoyance to being intrigued enough to maybe give photography and vlogging a go. Might as well get this Sony and see how it works out hehe

Agree 100%... I really like the focus features and size, but its no replacement for my Canon M50 which allows me to use my entire Canon lens collection from my 5D. Sony is on the right track, but the focal length killed it, especially at the price because you got options.

Ayush Sharma At 750 bucks, I wouldn’t call it cheap, specially for a point and shoot. You can get a Canon M50 with kit lens for less. 250 bucks less. And when you want a wider field of view, you can get a new lens.

You are right, but then again the ultimate "perfect" camera doesn't exist bc there are so many work cases and so many varieties. If we alter the definition of "perfect" then it will actually exist. Rather than saying a perfect camera is the one that works for everything and has every top notch feature, let's just say perfect camera is the one that has every desired feature for this work case i.e. vlogging.
