As an albanian, i feel like this video has only produced more questions than answers. I see a lot of comments regarding serbia v albania and which one is the oldest, but i think serbia actually has no impact or any effect in albania, meaning that they are irrelevant in our language or history (only just until recent centuries with war and etc). I keep on watching vids on youtube on origins of albania and illyrian and they do line up and make sense. However there are also videos like these which make other connections. What im trying to say is, this is a very confusing situation. I dont think i really believe anyone out here in the net because everyone says something different. Trust me and go get a DNA test or talk to a proper experienced historian with non biased opinions on this issue.

About the genetic part i gotta disagree: albanians are mainly E-v13, J2b2 and R1b-L23 + I2ab-din mainly in the south. I personally believe most albanians are greeks rather than south italians, as a matter of fact autosomally albanians are closest to thessaloniki greeks. Other than that i'm personally having doubts about this whole story, but also the illyrian theory. I am an albanian orthodox from southern-central albania, as far as i know i've had no muslims in my family, only albanian orthodox, vlachs and maybe some greeks. In terms of genetics i doubt any evidence regardless of where it stems from, i personally have no proof that any of the testing companies tell us the truth. As an albanian, i feel like this video has only produced more questions than answers. I see a lot of comments regarding serbia v albania and which one is the oldest, but i think serbia actually has no impact or any effect in albania, meaning that they are irrelevant in our language or history (only just until recent centuries with war and etc). I keep on watching vids on youtube on origins of albania and illyrian and they do line up and make sense. However there are also videos like these which make other connections. What im trying to say is, this is a very confusing situation. I dont think i really believe anyone out here in the net because everyone says something different. Trust me and go get a DNA test or talk to a proper experienced historian with non biased opinions on this issue.

About the genetic part i gotta disagree: albanians are mainly E-v13, J2b2 and R1b-L23 + I2ab-din mainly in the south.

Other than that i'm personally having doubts about this whole story, but also the illyrian theory.
I am an albanian orthodox from southern-central albania, as far as i know i've had no muslims in my family, only albanian orthodox, vlachs and maybe some greeks.
My main doubts about this theory come from the ignorance of many people who support it.
In terms of genetics i doubt any evidence regardless of where it stems from, i personally have no proof that any of the testing companies tell us the truth.
During the years, from the atheist i was i came back to believing in God, i'm now orthodox again as my forefathers were, but this has brought many doubts and questions.

R1b-L23, on this i agree, it has originated around armenia, but greeks too got 18%.

The only mistery is with the language: albanian has 50% of it's vocabolary from latin, it is not italian type of latin but classical latin, dalmatian and romanian latin, so these words don't come from italy, wich begs the question of where did the albanians find so many latin words.
