Thank you for your video ! I doubted whether the 900 would be significantly better than the 800. I've been using the 800 for 6 years and I'm ready for something new. The XP deus 2 also attracted me very much, but the large coil that I bought separately does not fit. That was a welcome addition to your video. Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands.

That recovery speed is awesome! I’ve been using the etrac for 10yrs and it would freak out if I had that many targets so close together.

Had an etrac .. 800 is a game changer . Lighter . Downside arm rest is shiite.. and the shaft. Need upgrading ...
I ALWAYS take a tape measure with me when I detect under water 🤣. just to make sure I don't go past 3 meters with the 800.
to be honest, I've never submerged the 800 due to some springing leaks. Great review mate.

Great video and decent review. But if you want to check depth on both machines try lowering the recovery speed to 1 and throw your arm a little slower (real slow). Sensitivity gives you 0 depth on those machines. Also take it out of multi and run 10khz. YOU will be suprised at the depth you will get. Overall I kinda liked your video. I really need some more bare bones testing done but i'm leaning 900 just because of the collapsed shaft size and the 800 coils still work with it.

I was picking up scratchy targets that the 600 was really struggling with....big difference...I'm doing apex vs 900 video this weekend and I'll try what you said....we don't claim to be experts and I never have....thanks for ya support..

Liked your honesty in compering the two machines but iv already got the carbon shaft for my 800 and I use a coiltek coil on the machine so I honesty can't see the point of buying a 900. To be quite Frank with you I prefer my deus 1 and legend before the nox, this 900 just seems too much like the 800 and most nox users over here in Britain have changed out all the bad bits already so to change it seems a pointless exercise unless your old 800 is dropping to bits
the computer in the 900 is tricked up...my 900 reads targets the 800 won't even pick up.....big difference watch my other comparison videos you will see. it's a big difference.. but it all comes down to your budget.. the 800 is a go find compared to the 900.....thanks for your support.
I can honestly say yes it’s a better detector over the 800 I just got mine could not wait for the Manticore.
I will wait awhile to maybe buy the manticore when the hype has worn off and people are selling barely used ones

traded my 800 and got a 900 it was so erratic and chattered constantly i returned it so now may get another 800. had the 900 and coils checked and they said they were ok.

Worth it? What if I don't want the small coil? Maybe because of better construction, added features and inflation, i wouldn't pay more than 100 USD with single coil.
Not sure why minelab are bringing out 3 new machines at the same time...iyo is the manticore worth paying the extra dollar?
It goes deeper and people have fallen in love with the 2d display. I know my budget so I'll stick with the nox900.

The legend already have all those description and for less money. Did Minelab copy those description?
No other machines use same vdis however your right simplex always used those better vdis and half the price...thanks for watching
So far I'm not sold mainly for the reason that if it is just a tuned up 800 then Minelab should have done this to the 800 in the first place. It's kind of like setting your house on fire and then putting it out and wanting praise for it. I love the higher ID though, but that should have been on the 800 in my opinion. I am also curious about the iron bias settings. I had over 2000 hours on my 800 when I updated to the new F2 setting. That update turned a good machine into a mediocre one and it was reverted back that night.

Don’t get me wrong. The extra features of the 900 do seem pretty cool but there’s just not enough to make me want to upgrade from the 800. If you’re gonna get the 900, you might as well just go all in and get the Manacor
thanks for commenting and watching the video. this was just a typical features video. however after owning the both machines I did a thorough performance review on both machines. check out my new equinox 900 performance explained video. anyways performance wise the 900 makes the 800 look like a simplex. so to spend a few extra dollars is well worth it. once again really appreciate you supporting my small channel ❤️ and please check out 800 vs 900 video and my 900 performance explained video. you will see the difference....
How about doing one on upgrading from the Vanquish 540 Pro Pack to The Equinox 700? I have one on the way on order.

Vanquish is just a scalled back Nox. Same performance but way less features. Still an under rated machine. I love mine and my nox. Still yet to find a Sov with my nox.. but the Vanquish got me my first Sov.

I can truthfully say I am going back over old grounds and FINDING TWICE as much, and yes I have the 800.I NOW HAVE THE 900 IT'S IT'S ASSUME.
today I had target on the 900 and it was clear as day then my mate went over it in the 600. it was struggling. Big difference. thanks for dropping. much appreciated 🙏

Minelab sold all those 800 series detectors for a high price tag. They had so many problems such as arm cuffs breaking, coil ears breaking and the most of them leak like old baskets. Now they got the 900 series out thinking that people are gullible enough to put their hand in their pockets and give away their hard earned money again. Minelab should be giving these thing out for free with a full apology for the junk that they sold their customers to start with what a nerve, Just my opinion!! I would never buy their garbage. Just listen to that crazy machine chatter, so irritating. I would never buy such a machine for $400 more than what their last piece of trash was!! 😂😂😂😂
let's see if these arm cuffs last longer than a year and as for the chatter it can absolutely crazy hectic in some spots, worse on the 900, but on the beach it's a dream. it's nearly a completely new machine and out performs the 8. however brother you speak the truth. thanks for speaking up. stay cool 😎
Needed to talk about battery life and how its charged. Other than that great vid. I rock a simplex and it can go 8 hrs or more straight and is charged by usb not batteries. Happy Safe Holidays
Mine lab wouldn't answer any questions about battery. Believe me I tried. Simex batteries destroy everything on the market .

I'm not upgrading from my 800. even with the 2 tele-knox stems, the stock coil, 6 inch coil, coiltek 10x5 coil, id be lucky to get £600-£700 for it now. then I'd be saving for a year to make up the difference to get the 900.
it's going to be a great machine for anyone that wanted a nox, but for anyone with a nox, the sensible upgrade would be the manticore 👍

I agree. I have 800 and Don't think the 900 will make significant difference. Thinking about Manticore. Would like it to come with large coil though. My tele-nox started cracking and slides out of clamps. Will have to replace it.
@@925inder2 with the tele-knox, I have the camlock levers on top of the stem when locked. my dad had his on the sides and it clamps against the weakest part so his split.
my way it clamps against the strongest part and I dont have any issues 👍
@The Dark Knight Detectorist good observation. My clamps or on the side as they originally came. Maybe that is assembly issue.

I tried both machines seems like the 900 needs a update. The numbers jump around a lot. On the 800 not so much

I've found it doesn't jump on solid targets so much but jumps and crackls on tin products and iron
i returned my 900 hated it, numbers jumping all over and constant chattering no matter what i did, i changed frequencies, coils and settings with no luck.
