I remember Kenner and Lucas came up with this as a toy because many parents wouldn’t spend the cash on the larger models, like the X wing and TIE fighter. They wanted to make a toy that was less expensive in hopes of increasing overall sales.
@@johnpatz8395 Well, you see when you have Imperial mechanics with TOO much time on their hands, some spare AT-ST cockpits, and a welder handy...you get this. 🤦
The empire could have used some of these, so if a pilot complained about the small size of the Tie’s cockpit, they could fly one of these for a week, and they’d never complain again. Or possibly use them in starfighter pilot training, so when the pilots graduated up to the Ties, they could be amazed at how roomy they were. 😂
What's the hull made of to be that durable? Interesting little speeder though. I could see these being very effective against back worlds and primitives.
This smells a bit like an early April 1st Fool joke, but I see no truly firm proof. It does look like a modded AT-ST head, so if this is a one-and-only example of some kid's "Carl from Toy Story" plastic surgeries, or if it's Mattel or Kenner disassembling unbought playsets, like Jawas claiming "firsties" on a carrier full of good, greebly salvage... ...well, I hope that workers sending off the unbroken head stuff for Creative to jury-rig into something Star Wars-esque, to empty out the factory...please keep the legs and torsos, too. Need a crane, dozer, or pylon thingy? There's lotza bitz for that job. Or am I just caught up in a nearly waking OCDream to pacify my brain's pack-ratty lobe?
I am sorry but where wqs that bit about surviving an antiorbital ion cannon from? Is that somethi g from the toy commercial whichnis usually just kids playing pretend?

I put mine inside the body of an At-At..so could open and launch to attack rebels..lol
This stuff (the video, the modell and certainly the INT-4) rules. Great work!
Thanks a lot!
Who put wings on a walker body?
Yeah, my first thought was it was a scout walker head converted into starfighter

looks like an AT-ST head with wings

This looks like it should be an escape pod rather than a fighter. I honestly would prefer a TIE Fighter to this thing.
It's maufacture was Lego, or Mattel toy company. They were breaking into the star fighter universe. Plastic its not just for toys.
It should have had landing gear that double as legs. It would have been usefule for plant hoping.
It did have a single strut under front of cockpit tho lol!! It was fixed tho wasn't retractable 😉
I have one of these 👍🏻
A flying ATST Head

@@captain_vaughn I know, I watched the vids on it. Doesn't change the fact they look like sibling vehicles
