If I was in the salvage business, I’d probably go with the Droch boarding ship or the Trident Assault Craft. True, they don’t have nearly as much room for cargo, but they are both well armed, maneuverable, can break through hulls, and the Trident can go underwater.
Oh hey, it's my suggestion! Thanks a lot, Captain! I wonder if it could be used as a smuggling ship or some sort of small black market trading base, since it's probably normal for salvage ship to carry military grade material and stuffs salvaged from battlefield. It can carry quite a load too. Tho at least a stronger engine and a turret is probably necessary. Otherwise it's quite a sitting duck.
I guess in a galaxy renowned for it's large and almost continuous space based conflicts, the makers of salvage freighters would have the designs of these ships down to a science with so many post-battlefields to test on. It doesn't need so much armament; it is going into these places _after_ the battles after all. Maybe just have something to scare off any potential salvage rivals. Similarly speed isn't an issue in that context; better to navigate dense debris fields slowly anyway. I think a worthwhile mod would be some way to attach cargo to the outer hull; maybe something like the VCX-100's, i.e. the Ghost's, magnetic cargo clamps.
Mount 6 point defense turrets,a few laser cannons, maybe concussion missile launchers and tractor beams would be good and its perfect for pirates, rebels, and bounty hunters Edit: pretty sure we could transform it into a small carrier or use it for industrial jobs with those claws and the cargo hold
Upgrading the hyperdrive would be a must, so you can get to the salvage site before it's tapped out. In the same vein better engines would be useful. _Transit time is lost money._ As for defences, there's bound to be some intact turrets and so on, on some of the salvage, so you can Upgrade the defences of your ship over time. If you find a appropriate shield generator it can be installed instead of sold. There's tractor beams (to tow ships that are intact enough to be sold whole) and more ordinances, because the cost of lost revenue from not selling items would be less than the cost of buying the same items from a salvage yard as there's no mark up. You could treat your ship like a video game where you build it up over time, or take inspiration from the Pakleds. That could even be the source of a far better hyperdrive. High powered sensors would also be beneficial, to both detect possible salvage sites and to warn of any incoming competitors,.. or some survivors that may be hostile. And whatever wrecked those ships in the first place. But for all of this to work a on board machine shop would be useful. And that could even allow more valuable salvage to be prioritised, with a finite cargo capacity being able to remove the valuable parts from a ships wreckage means that your cargo bay can be filled up with the good stuff. Bringing back an _undamaged_ load of just hyperdrives, shield generators, computer parts, ship components, and weapons systems - the high value items. Along with any valuable cargo.... Because you can't guarantee that any debris you leave drifting for the next trip will still be there when you return. There's even the chance that you could get a damaged ship working again in space, and have it flown back to 'base'. That could be a real prize. Then there's *droids.* In fact having a lot of astromechs and other specialised droids to help with salvage will be more than worth the cost and ships space used. Having driods out in space doing the salvaging and even just examining first is far preferable to doing EVA as an organic that needs life support and can get their suit damaged. And some of your droids can even be ones you've salvaged. A droid found drifting abandoned in space would most likely be very grateful for being rescued, and might not even need a memory wipe and reprogramming, and be willing to "join your crew." They are also cheaper than extra organic crew that would want a share of profits.... and use consumables while out in space. It's even an ethical job from a droids perspective, saving other droids that would otherwise be left drifting, and bringing them back to civilisation to have a purpose in 'life.' Over time you could really 'level up' your ship and operation. And even get enough salvage to increase your fleet, if you put aside the stuff that may be useful to build a better ship later. Or just pump out some uglies for nefarious operations. Use what you can, sell what you can't.
You have a piece missing. I thought you did it for the money, but now it's so clear, screw the money, you do it for fun. You get off on it. You know it's true you just don't have the guts to admit it. I'm going to make it clear to everyone, because i am going to dedicate my life to making sure everybody knows the truth. Believe it. You can't hide who you really are forever.

It’s slow but with some additional weapons it would be a Flying Fortress
Maybe the arms can grab then drop really big proton torpedoes on A planet?
It's slow but with some additional weapons it would be YOUR MOM

no problem, thanks for the suggestion :)
Could work as a good smuggling ship. Could have a lot of cargo that could act as a legitimate front with illegal stuff in back

Cool video ^^ can you make video over Pirate Snub Fighter ?

i can see the modding potential 😎
