An easier method is to melt the shea butter and coconut oil first, then add the essential oil and dried ingredients. Lavender and May Chang EO work well.

I was meaning to make a balm deodorant for years but never really got round to it. I finally decided to make it 2 days ago and found your video, I was unsure as to how the results would be and if it would be worth it. I'm soooo happy and surprised with the results, have been wearing the deodorant for a whole day and night and have had no sweat smell at all! Thank you soooo much, will definitely continue with this recipe ❤

I bought a $35 luxury natural deodorant and it worked! (Aurelia botanical deodorant) So now that it's running out (because I can't keep spending that amount) I googled around for the same sequence of ingredients and arrived here! So excited to make this. I just bought these ingredients bulk and they should last me years and years. 😂 And my teenagers can use safe deodorant. Yay!

    Hi there,
is there a reason you use so little baking soda? I have noticed with your recipe, that I need at least 3g for it to work, better is 4.5g. Also I noticed that you don't use any beeswax, is there a reason for that? Lastly, why don't you heat it over a double boiler to make the mixture smoother?

    • @BottegaZeroWaste
      @BottegaZeroWaste  Год назад +3

Yes you can! I would personally keep baking soda low at around 1%-2% to avoid irritation and keep the zinc oxide higher, you can go even up to 4-5%.

Why are people afraid of baking soda? It does not irritate the skin and is actually good at reducing itch. If you ever get a bug bite, applying a baking soda paste is a good treatment.

I used selfmade deodorant containing baking soda for over 10 years and all of a sudden it leaves me with sore armpits. I heard this from other long-term baking soda deodorant users too. There might be a sudden time your skin is able to take it.

Doesn't fail, watching how the puddles of sweat just dried up within 48 hours was so satisfying, I used what I read about the other day. Although it actually took about 72 hours for my sweating to normalize, I went ahead and go'ogled Cynthia Yulesin’s Stop Sweating Today and I don’t have to change clothes 2 times a day.

  • @MGillDesign

my problem is, when i make my baking soda deodorant, (as a guy) i sweat a lot
and it drips (throughout the day).
to stop the embarrassing clumps falling on the floor (from my arms),
I had to shave my pits.
That helped somewhat, but now i still get tiny drop sized white
specks falling from under my arms onto the floor (throughout the day), as i sweat.
I can't go to work like that, in office, with random white greasy specks
falling on the floor while walking around or talking to people.

Jyromi are you kidding me? To come in the comment section and urge ppl to use commercial deodorants with aluminum knowing what we know now that it long term use will make many many ppl sick is absolutely insane to me. If this recipe or the like does not work for you-fine (though i would suggest simply trying thru trial and error what will work for your body chemistry) as opposed to claiming natural deodorant does not work (it does) and to go back to practically a cancer stub in a container (commercial deodorant/specifically anti perspirant)🙄
