In today’s video I look rank the current format as we head into NAIC! Игры
Thank you for including Gouging Fire, I'm going with that right now, yeah it lacks support, but it's at least playable, and has good typing.
In my opinion decks within tier 2 and above are very playable.
As an Espathra stan…
Your Bolt matchup is fine actually. Espathra is going to be running several league HQ and with that plus its ability, there are likely turns that Bolt just won’t be able to attack. Those, Iono spam, potentially Mew ex copying, Mimikyu can make it not simple at all.
Gardy and Lugia are tough if you’re running the old Banette list. If you have rightly dropped those for other options or single prizers they can be won.
While it loses several matchups vs Zard as frequently, as you have shown in your other video, hyper aroma is pretty darn solid for setup.
Also- with Hyper Aroma and TM Evo, it can be a deck that can utilize Rabsca.
Espathra maybe is ok, outside of that tho i think your gardey matchup is also abysmal
@@ldfptcg2022 if you expect to just spam espathra ex and hope they don’t KO it then yah, you will lose unless they brick.
But you can definitely get up two prizes while they setup and KO your Ex, then create a single prize board state and rod/tulip/ make them find gusts around stance and hope to get a boss:vacuum two prize turn. It is a bad matchup cause most matchups into Gardy are hard, but it isn’t auto loss.

I agree with most of this.
I might put Festival Lead in low tier 3, in theory it has potential to trade prizes really well into almost anything but big single prize decks. It's main problems are bricking on the setup, getting Thwackey trapped in the active, Fluttermane ever being in the active spot, and an abysmal Dragapult matchup. I'd really like to see what it can do in a tournament, but I also don't think it will be winning anything.
I'd also put Blissey in rogue. It's bricky and it feels like it just has too many awful matchups: Chien-Pao, Raging Bolt, Gardevoir, Lugia, Greninja, Lost Box, and Control. Even in it's good matchups, it can lose if your opponent is able to chain gusts on Munkidori then finish on Blissey before you can loop it. I actually think Ancient Box is a good matchup for Blissey though, it struggles to OHKO Blissey (can't OHKO against Hero's Cape at all), gets OHKO'd back by Munki + Blissey, and doesn't have a lot of gusts to deal with the Munkis. I had a Blissey vs. Ancient Box match last night where I made a 5-2 comeback because they just weren't able to KO my Blissey once I finally got my board set up.
As a huge Regidrago fan, I'm happy to see it start getting play. I've loved the card since I've started playing PTCG (which hasn't been long tbh) and I'm happy it's actually strong now. It just had an ABYSMAL matchup to Charizard EX, but now that that POS has fallen off the meta, Regidrago being solid is amazing.
If people are copying lists, I wouldn’t be surprised if Control/Stall goes the distance. Lack of Switching cards galore.
Dragapult Charizard is my favorite deck followed by Lugia. The 3 energy from zard accelerates the deck so well!
Shh lol
@@1117Jrod 😂
I think the Rotom Vstar tool burn deck is actually a really good pick for this tournament. Lugia will be everywhere so that helps and with the TM’s discarding after every turn it’s crazy easy to get the numbers you need for big early KO’s on the beat sticks.
How do you feel about the raoringmoon deck from the japan league how does it sit on the list?
what do you rate Iron Thorns Ex deck? kind of interested to play it in my nationals
Would argue Heatran is the better Metal deck atm it does so well against Raging Bolt and alot of Big Multiprizers
Blissey should be played as a support pokemon with some kind of energy acceleration attackers like Teal Mask or gardevior / mew2 ex ... it's actually pretty good as a 2 /2 line in those kind of decks where you want to accelerate and swap energy.
Dragapult needs someone who can figure out how to break the inconsistency; the ironic part is that Drakloak should have done that.
Now, the hot take: Raging Bolt ex isn't going to produce wins since people will be packing techs to shut it down.
No one been looking at item lock but i combined it with pult as the draw + some draw supporters so locking items + taking 6 prizes at once isnt all too bad
As a Tsareena ex enthusiast... Who am I kidding, not on the list. But is still a fun deck...
To be honest , i am glad that dialga vstar becomes a competitive deck since i played in June 2023. The introduction of metal maker metang changed the structure of dialga vstar deck. My dialga vstar played with arven and some TM evolution + vitality band instead of using Hedrick’s winning decklist
is your template for the tier list public?
Greninja tier 2 the other are fine nice video. Greninja is soooo underrated
Gracias!
what’s ur opinion on lost goodra? i’m seeing pretty great matchups across the board, seems heavily underrated
Goodra is bad against decks with a nuke option as you’re trading your two prizer for an average of one prize per turn. Cpao, Garde and Bolt are bad and even Lugia really. Plus you have instant Ko decks like Tina and Moon. Even Dragapult is okay into you because of the damage counter spread
Another matchup to note is Chien Pao into Blissey is bad. Anything running Cornerstone Ogerpon will make it almost unwinable for Chien Pao unless it techs against it
How come Ogerpon/Sinistcha is not on the tier list? The deck is solid. I could see it being on the lower end of tier 2.
As greninja enjoyer im happy that atleast is tier 3 not lower
Why didn't you rank Iron Thorns ex?
As a Gardy enthusiast I get genuinely baffled when people say Chien-Pao has a good matchup into it. It feels like one of the freest matchups ever for Gardy.
Can you explain why? I think the general thought process it that Iron Hands and Greninja farm Gardevoir. You have to bench Manaphy, which takes up bench space you would rather have for Kirlia, and they can just Prime Catcher + Canceling Cologne to get 2 prizes anyways. Then just use Iron Hands twice to win the game (does not have to be in that order). Gardevoir can't be used as an attacker either because of Chien-Pao.
Admittedly you can focus on sniping Baxcalibur, but Chien-Pao decks are so good at getting Bax back into play. Also if they have Iron Hands on the field, you can't even snipe Bax with Scream Tail, you have to use gust + Gardevoir, but then if they get Bax back into play they're taking 2 prizes again.
Please tell me how it's free I keep losing to it with greninja + cologne combo
Blah blah blah I go against Bad c-pao players
Hands and ninja pressure early on is scary to deal with
You are playing against some trash cpao players then fr
Don't sleep on festival now. Just got first at locals. Beat lost box, ancient box, miraidon, and raging bolt. Ancient box was a free win. I was scared of lost hands but you kill easy with band or belt.
I think festival is tier 3... for a single prize deck it has a lot of damage and consistency!
lugia is insane only when it gets a good starting hand, if you dont set up on turn 1 theres so many other decks that will instantly and consistently catch up and get the first 2 prizes that its not even worth it
Staraptor is going hard rn for sure
Honestly I rate greninja! I’m not loosing with it, snipes any decks who are trying to set up and just gets you whatever you want!
for context, my tried and true turbo hands deck has no issues against lostpult but struggles into dragapult deck.
Yeah, turbo hands is really unfavored into Pult. Not sure why he said the matchup was good
@@SporeVenom against lostpult it’s pretty fantastic. But it’s really hard to deal with normalpult if I can’t get set up swinging for KOs before them.
@@Docsfortune yeah, I was referring to the normal Pult lists. Not a good matchup at all
Im still waiting for Lugia dominance.
This list aged well
People need to start playing penny in future hands.
What is your take on palafin?
Palafin has to do a lot of work to get to the same spot as good decks get to with less effort. The attack is good, but it seems too bricks to be consistent enough
Where's Palafin EX? 😭
I just want a meta lucario deck maneeee😭
Raging bolt is best girl ... its not even close
Rip Meowscarada ex, it was a pleasure haha.
Brooo how can chien pao be t3 if it has beaten a lot of decks in t2 previously
It feels like its bad vs Raging bolt & Dragapult, zard is less popular which was its best matchup & control/stall might stay popular which is another bad matchup
Single prize Kingdra sweep
Why u keep doing dengo like that 😢
What about quad thorns?
Rogue tier
@@ldfptcg2022
🥺
I went 4-0 with festival at a local tourney with people playing Tealbolt, Lugia, Pult and Garde, so there's that. I haven't actually had too much trouble with the deck. But I definitely think Lugia is a threat for the greater metagame, though.
raging bolt isnt that bad for cpao if you open a one pricer then you just win the price trade for free
Good luck setting up a good board & finding 4 water by turn 2 without shivery chill
I’m a Pao player and I promise you the Ogre matchup isn’t that bad just play like old Miraidon and don’t start Pao force them to take 1 prize
You’re fine into Garde and Ogre Lugia is the deck that feels awful with Legacy energy messing up your prize map
Lugias weakness is high hp decks like palafin and Blastoise just saying
Nahh u got cinccino
@@ldfptcg2022 they tend to run low on energy if they cant make the ohko
And Miraidon
Lmao ppl sleeping on roaring moon. I can beat all these decks with moon moon on the regular.
And then Festival Lead wins anyways, lol
I'm really sad you completely overlooked the deck that has great matchups against most of the top decks in format..... Quad Thorns. Auto win lugia, great bolt matchup, wrecks Zard and Gardy. Plus shuts down many many other decks (free control and stallax matchup as well)
Garde bdif
Would it be bad content for you to make a snorlax video? The matches are probably boring but I would like to see it being as useful as you're saying it is
how do you feel about quad iron thorns? it's actually gotten some pretty good online results
Great against Lugia, Charizard, and Garde, but several matchups where it’s just terrible imo. Dragapult, Tina, and probably even Raging Bolt just have a field day against it
I honestly hate how slowly they rotate older cards sometimes.
Some of these cards are dominating the meta for so so long they gotta be kicked out asap.
Power creep in gen 9 both in the tcg and vgc just made everything pokemon related so much worse.
I don't think anyone takes you seriously Matt ☝🏼😬
I like the channel but dude just put Lugia in S LOL
@@GoOKuSj33 no one who is a bitt clever takes Matt seriously 😄
@@GoOKuSj33 have u seen Japan Championships results ?
@@GoOKuSj33 Lugia just got 4 of the top8 spots in the Japan Championship tournament lmao. I think the deck is good
Hii samuel 👋 👽 🐣🏂✏️🔱🍕
Raging bolt is fraud deck, tier 1256699
LOL I bet you lost against it a lot and got mad
2nd and 3rd at the Japan Championship is a fraud deck now? what's it take to be a good one lmao
Nah its legit turn 1 kos and high hp basics is tough to deal with
@@vadersnemesis you whiff sada,you lose
@@kreslomartin yeah but you don’t whiff Sada so it wins
