This set makes me think that pokemon is taking some inspiration from mtg (in a good way). There are a lot of attacks that create a board wide effect. Walrein I think is especially cool. It reminds me of hex maniac, really strong boom but hard to chain. But while they've balanced these effects by taking your attack, the effect is more interesting than some of the most historical ptcg themes, imo

Any single prizer mill deck with neutralization zone and gastrodon would be too funny.

Look I’m probably weird but I love single price decks.. can you please spend a bit of time either ranking single price decks, reviewing single price cards etc? There is nothing out there talking about purely single price strategies..

Why doesn’t Pokémon just do a you can only play one dusknior in your deck

Rip stage 2 decks I am pretty sure this game will return to that very toxic and boring fast AF meta with big basics like that period with Zacian V. At this point just reset the game, and go back to single prize mons, and make evolution actually matter. And keep big basics in check!

Finally! Something that deals with Dusknoir. This format was getting out of hand because there's no counterplay to Dusknoir. It's NOT a complete counter, but at least it interacts with Dusknoir. Ever since Gastro got revealed, I've been cooking a control deck list that can setup an ability lock with just 1 combo in turn 1. I just need to play the format so I know what to tweak in the deck.

I love the new Gastrodon. I wish we had a more Dusknoir focused counter, like manaphy for Dusknoir, but I do think this card will be great at slowing the format down some. It won't be TOO good ultimately but the threat of it will have to make some decks adapt. There are no real good "hit and run" decks, but something with Gastrodon on the bench and fluttermaine in the active could be great.

Regidrago as a whole could've done better if they didn't tech in Noivern ex. Noivern ex is just a bad card for the deck, and the fact that most drago players went heavy on teching against 1 deck like terapagos just spells disaster for some of your other matchups potentially. Without Noivern you only need to go for the duskulls and owls when playing drago. Obviously you need to win the coin flip too.

My boy gouging fire is there again 🔥 Feel like you have to play delphox v in gouging fire though. If zard, pult or gardy open up with 2 pokemon, you can win with delphox turn 1

I've been using slither wing before the regional but one shots fez and beats Sandy shock in mirror in 1 shot only downside is 2 fighting for attack instead of 1 but worth it

20:46 I was this Player and I can say without a doubt that Slither Wing was the play for bolt this weekend! I’d also recommend playing no charms because it makes you more consistent into the mirror, and that was the main reason I hit day two! Thanks for checking out my list I am a huge fan!

Would also say the Slither Wing in Raging Bolt OHKOs Thorns, Miraidon, Hands, Fez, Rotom V, Bloodmoon Urs EX. sandy shocks better for Mimikyu wall, but lots more possibilities for slither wing

My boys are T-tar ex and Ho-oh V. Both decks stomp raging bolt ex and anything with teal mask. Mayhaps i should take 1 of them to a tournament one day.

Not even halfway through and I noticed THREE japan decks I faced in ptcgl and lost to. Tight games but these decks sure are built different for sure Edit: WHY IS NO ONE EDITING REGIDRAGO VStar DECKS????!!! At least put secret mixer in there to get the dragon attacks up and running

If turapagos can take a hit playing second after charging up a pikachu on the bench and you play Turo on the turapogos switching into pikachu would be an interesting play. Turo could also technically be a healing card for pikachu as well.
