Absolutely peak event, This set was literally both Aurelien + Patrick going for decisive wins on Game 1 and 2, with Game 3 having an explosive blow for blow exchange; absolutely hype seeing it live
Patrick’s confidence is commendable. Those swift clicks on moves and switches without a second thought, that confident stone-cold expression on his face; while his incineroar is intimidating his opponent’s Pokémon on the field, he is intimidating the person sitting opposite of him in real life. Congrats on winning Patrick, I’ll be rooting for you at worlds if you decide to compete!
Patrick with early, aggressive, bordering on unhinged, reads that gave him early advantages in his winning games. He then kept his foot on the gas and brought home the victory. It's a risky, but hyper aggressive form of play that is fun to watch.
This is probably one of the best, most breathtaking VGC match I've ever seen. Both players were outstanding in their own rights. That Tera Ghost Grimsnarl, that one hit KO Moonblast from Flutter Mane in Game 2, that bait for Terapagos to go into stellar mode, that complete protection Wide Guard from Pelipper in Game 3. The suspense was off the charts! Hats off to both players!!!
I was crushed I couldn't watch this in person because I was rooting for Patrick. I'm floored that he was able to bring it home because he is an incredible player.
It’s great to finally see the underdog win! I can’t count the number of times I’ve thought that it would make such a cool story only to have it not happen. It must suck for Aurelien though, but I’m sure they’ll get their moment.
lol yeah cause the rain stopped so would have done 0 damage that turn if Calyrex got full para. Imagine if flutter crit moonblasted calyrex the next turn...
I’ve not been watching VGC for longer than like 6 months, so I’m no expert but I actually get emotional watching that second match play by Aurélien and I couldn’t tell you why, just incredible and the castors smashed it! And that match 3, Patrick was incredible bating the tera and then the Pelipper coming in, amazing! Fantastic stuff by both trainers.
Aurélian threw when they went for the t-wave instead of a foul play which would have knocked out the calyrex after the third hit (would have been right before Patrick uses trick room). But I am so happy to see Patrick win, what a humble and amazing player!
I was really confused with Patrick in game 2. When he switched rillaboom to incin, I assumed it must have best to bait out the overheat from chi yu and get the lowered special attack. But then he went and attacked instead of protected with thunder mane against the BEAST that is flutter mane. He likely would have lost either way but it just seemed like a bold move with little payoff potential
It's not the matchup, it's more the player. Patrick dominated Aurelian in G3 because he responded well to their adjustments. If Aurelian brought Iron Hands in G3, it might have turned out very differently.
I swear that Crit on the Flutter Mane was just extra, or maybe Frost Rider Calyrex letting off steam by punishing the most “Shut-Off-Your-Brain” Paradox. It’s the Fairy type that does it, not the… well prehistoric personality of the Pokemon.
gamefreak I know that you are scared to make a new eeveelutions but I think you should give it a go and see what people say and if they don't like it you should scrap it or on the other hand if people do like it you should leave it in
We all pokemon fans are requestion you plz add ash and sarena in upcoming sesons of pokemon plz . We all want ash and sarena back or pls make a dedicated series on both of them plz . It's a humble request 😭
Probably because Aurelien uses they/them pronouns. Some friendly advice - it would be best not to refer to someone’s pronouns as “weird af.” That’s extremely disrespectful.
i’m not a fan of these kinda hyper god mode metas or w/e all gimmick/legendary/mythics/pokémon i’ve never seen or heard of at least pelipper is here, so much cooler when more common pokémon shine
Just dont play in latter metas each generation then, we had a lot of regulations which banned those godly mons, now for the meta to not get stale they freed them.
He did get para on the peliper. And even if calyrex did get para, how did you expect fluttermane and chiyu to deal with everything else on trick room, specially with how bulky calyrex is
I like how theres always like a lot of people who commend the winner and comment on the matches with good points, and then theres a couple of people with the worst takes you'll ever see.
If they did just Gen 1 Pokemon the meta would be even more limited lol people would just use like Gengar, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Venasaur, and a few others.

Pelican lol

His goal was Top 16 to secure the Worlds invite but with the NAIC win, he also gets a Round 1 bye. We'll very likely be seeing him at Worlds. 😄
@@seta_soujiisnt day 2 invite gone
This poor Aurelien kid was in like 4 finals already and lost every single of them. I hope he will win next time.

And yes they just gave us Patrick's Shiny Pelliper ❤
The fact that pokemon counts as mild fsntasy violence lmao
Man seeing the hype from the trainers parents at this competition was awesome. That support is everything even to Master's division. 🔥🔥
I was in the crowd for this match the chants for USA were crazy
Exactly. USA swept Championship Sunday.
This battle was insane. Can't wait to hear that announcement we were promised that was supposed to happen right after day 3
They did do the announcement. It was that NAIC was returning to New Orleans next year.
insane finals. 2nd game tera made my jaw drop

patrick clicking weather ball after the rain had lifted into flutter mane at the end was so sick, absolutely GAMBLING with those para's 😆
The Grimmsnarl and the Pelipper are so fcking wild.
These commentators did an incredible job with this set. I think these 2 have amazing chemistry and pacing. Amazing final!
Aurelien is so incredibly talented. Only a matter of time.
That pelipper is perfect.

Pelipper W
Pelipper is very much a standard pick in this meta, actually! :)

Amazing match, very glad they chose New Orleans! The kid in me couldn't miss it.
Absolutely amazing finals, GGs to both!
It was an honor to be there in person. Patrick has my respect!
What an amazing match 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is the highest level of VGC match I've ever seen..both players played incredibly well, i couldn't help shouting infront of the screen 🎉

Smart move with the Grimmsnarl. Expect the unexpected

I hope we get shiny pelipper after this! Great matches!

Congratulations on winning🎉

That was a really good match

This was epic way to play Patrick! 🎉🎉🎉
Is the calyrex not choice specs?
Wide guard is definitely getting nerfed in Gen 10
Awesome Pokémon video!
What is the name of the game their playing??
Wide-guard is too op, should work like Protect
Is the League of Legends champion named after this guy?

patrick plays wildly lol aurelien did his best to geta read. i see a rematch going aureliens way next time

How does arulean lose this looking at team matchups it just doesn’t make sense to me
Patrick not only played better, but luck was on his side as well.
Patrick played almost perfectly
It's not the matchup, it's more the player. Patrick dominated Aurelian in G3 because he responded well to their adjustments. If Aurelian brought Iron Hands in G3, it might have turned out very differently.

These matches are becoming extremely boring ! Why does everyone always want to use the same Mons .
Too many legendary this matchs are all the same. This why pokemon sucks now keep the ubers out and just use the basic 152
Ubers ? That's an official tournament buddy, with official rules, not unofficial created by random dudes on internet 🥶
