    Namaste yogis, this week I'm offering you a 50 minute strong Vinyasa Flow that will lead you into the apex pose of Bird of Paradise. Bird of Paradise requires shoulder flexibility since it incorporates a bind and also requires open hips and hamstrings.
    This is certainly not a beginner class but we really prepare ourselves well for the final pose so Intermediate students may find the class really helpful to help them progress their practice! I hope you enjoy it :)

    It'd be great if you could do more 45-50 minute classes ending in advanced postures like this :) Also if you made like a "ten days of handstands/arm balances" that would be cool. Because I can kind of do a handstand but I'd like to have a series to watch so that I could progressively build up endurance and ability

      With my local small town studio closed for good due to covid, going back to these longer studio-ish classes that build to a pose has been fantastic for me... would love to see more ♡

    Oh my goodness, Kassandra. I was mentally preparing myself the entire practice to be okay with not being able to achieve the final pose. What I hadn't mentally prepared for was being ABLE to achieve the final pose. It may not have been graceful or fully straight, but that bird was in paradise. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Bird of Paradise looks nearly impossible but the flow that leads into it makes it so accessible! Love this class.

    Great class! I'm glad i finally did it. Good moves and sequences to help stretch, strengthen, open the body and prepare for bird of paradise. I didn't think i could do it but i did it, well a half bird of paradise but i was able to do the bind and stand up lifting my leg up! The next step, to extend my leg fully!     An older one, but redid this today and had to comment. Really enjoyed this one. Even if you are not aiming for bird of paradise, the rest of this class is amazing at lengthening and stretching at the end of the day all typical problem areas, hips, hamstrings, back, twists and shoulders. Love the length of practice and the overall flow. Not too slow. Good pace. Felt amazing after. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting a good full body stretch and lengthen.

    Hi Kassandra, I often come back to this great practice (thank you!) and would love to see a similar video building up to mermaid pose, since for me it requires a lot of warming up and preparatory stretching (and sometimes remains unavailable😅)

    This practice is perfect for my ability level right now. Challenging enough that I feel I got an amazing workout, but doable. I didn't get into Bird of Paradise this time, but I'm excited to keep working towards it :)

    This is one of your best classes! It's the perfect mix of flexibility and strength, and you taught it so well.     I absolutely love this class! The last time I tried extended side angle, I couldn't get the bind at all. I've been doing lots of your morning yoga videos, and today not only could I do the bind, but I was also able to do the Bird of Paradise (with a bent leg) on one side. Thank you for all the amazing free videos!

    I like this classes that take you to advacnce pose. Aldo the 50 minutes lenght of the video si perfect. Especially during tris quarantine, when we all have so much time to spend at home. Please, do some more videos like this.

    I decided to do this today in the hope that one day, after going through the whole flow a few times, I will do Bird Of Paradise. I actually did it at my first attempt! Amazing, thank you so much for this incredible video!
    My mantra immediately after was "OMG, I'm %!@#ing awesome!".

    Thank you for this wonderful practice. I was able to get bird of paradise on one side but not the other. I won't give up though! Thanks again for posting these videos. You are the only teacher I was able to stick with. I practice with you and only you every day.

    Wonderful prep for BOP, thank you so much once again for a perfect class Kassandra! I did not feel this was an int/adv flow though, except for the peak pose. The flow was nice and calm and perfectly paced ❤️❤️❤️

    I started doing your videos a month ago, because I was looking for a more challenging practice that I couldn't get with Yoga with Adriene, for example. (Don't get me wrong, she's great)I can't believe how much Progress I've made in such a short period of time, I wasn't really able to stand in Bird of Paradise two weeks ago, but now I can hold the pose for the entire time! I still can't straighten my leg, but I'm positive that I'll be able to achieve that Goal of mine soon, thanks to you. :)

    I would've never been able to do it without your perfect instructions and guidance!!was afraid to try this video because of the picture I was like I can never do that but I tried it anyway and at the end when it was time to do it it wasn't really hard or painful (i didn't straighten my leg though). I think my problem is in balance not in my hamstrings because im horrible at balancing. Great class, hoping to do it again and get better.

    This practice helped me so much. First time I could hold the bind and balance standing on the right leg. I still used a strap for the opposite side. I still need practice to straighten up and bring shoulders back. 🙏🏻

    080522 This was a challenging and a very intense workout. Like every time there is an intense workout to prepare for an intense pose, by the time I get to the pose I am exhausted with trembling muscles and the pose doesn't work out very well; B o P, success on one side, but not for very long, too uncomfortable for my shoulder and the other side, my foot remained stubbornly on the ground. Not enough strength in my shoulder to pull up my leg or enough strength in my leg to straighten it; Or maybe just too exhausted 😂. Anyway, I loved it and will do it again. And again. And get a little further along with every attempt. Thank you. Namaste.
