24:30 ... what's up with the text in that game?
This, this is where you find the hidden gems and the rubbish. Thanks SwitchUp gents, you perform a valuable service to the community's joy and wallets. Legends!
Rubbish
@@johnhession8035cheer up John 😂

Thanks for featuring fading afternoon. The music is so good. I would've missed it it's so niche.
At the moment I’m bouncing between three games: Skyrim, Gordian Quest, and Pentiment. They’re very different, so my mood dictates what I’m playing 😊
Yeah those are all solid wins! Mark
I haven't informes myself on It but I assume such a ressourceful game like Skyrim IS ont suites for the Switch. PC for mods of course > Next Gen console to handle the ressources and graphics > weakest Platforms like thé Switch.
I cannot stop playing
The land beneath us
Helppppp😂
Thanks for showing “Fading afternoon” I didn’t know a game like this existed, will definitely have to get it when it’s on sale.
I come for the games I stay for the digressions about buffalo wings
Hahaha ❤
I love this series that you two do! So exciting to see these videos show up on my feed! Have a wonderful weekend!
You too mate! Glen
Really appreciate you putting some interesting and not very well known games in my radar!
Cheers mate! Mark
In this video we learned you two are not childhood friends. How did this dynamic duo meet and bond so closely over games?
Yea, what's the origin story?
I think they’ve mentioned they met when they were both teachers and mark would tell glen about all the barjans and savaloys and which games have gyro, and they bonded
@@DG12th checks out...
We met while teaching primary school. Not many blokes in teaching primary so was good to meet one especially when they also loved gaming. Glen convinced me to buy a 3DS to try out this little game called Monster Hunter... Well... That was a game changer of a co-op game right there. We were watching RUclips during one gaming session and saw a review of a Switch game and said "I reckon we could do that!". Mark
@@SwitchUpYtlove it! A match made in heaven. For our sake I’m glad you two found each other!
“He’s flying straight to my plate!”
Without fail, there’s always a phrase or section in these videos that makes me laugh. Still my favourite show on SwitchUp. Keep ‘em coming gents! 😊
hehe cheers mate! Mark
Just completed Another Crab’s Treasure, it’s the first souls like I’ve beaten since Remnant, and I bloody loved it. What a game!
“It’s like a thinking man’s fighting game” -Glen Bolger
Hahaha I would laugh if I see that in an accolades trailer for Fading Afternoon
I wasn't sure if I missed the video on it but I have been waiting to see a video from you on fading afternoon. It's definitely getting added to the backlog.
Monolith looks very interesting, thanks for showing it! Reminds me a little bit of Syberia or The Longest Journey, which I loved back in the day.
And Moonstone Island seems to be lovely too!
Yeah I'm enjoying it a lot! Mark
Thanks for reminding me I still have Syberia on my backlog. Well, Monolith went to my wishlist.
Another person who knows the Longest Journey! 🥰 One of my favourite games ever. I have fond memories of playing the first with my mom because the puzzles were too hard for me at the time
@@Frouwke thanks for sharing this! I loved it so much too, I also remember there was a little extra in the end with bloopers from the voice acting, such a nice little touch!
The sauce you are thinking of is likely a mild buffalo wing sauce made from Frank's Red Hot... And as a vegan, you should try dipping celery and carrots in wing sauce. You could also air fry some cauliflower and coat it in wing sauce. Here in the US, we pair hot wings with celery and carrot sticks and Bleu cheese dressing.
That's the one!! Thanks. Mark
The sniper elite games never really appealed to me, for some reason. Then it was one of the PS+ games, so I gave it a whirl. Man, I was blown away, an absolutely brilliant game. As you said, so immersive with varying ways you can complete missions. Amazing
I played and loved the original Jurassic Park game on GameBoy as a kid. Took me forever to beat it!
Fading Afternoon is just so good. Something about it just makes it such an amazing game to sit down and play on a rainy day after a long day's work. In fact, I'm going to go play it right now!
It's a real vibe
Fading afternoon looks like a great title, Definitely will be checking that out one out. As usual great content keep it coming
I never realized they didn`t include the segacd version of Jurassic Park in that collection, what a shame.
Jurassic Park genesis will always hold a special place in my mind... i remember arguing with my cousin (who had a snes) that the game was absolutely not a top down adventure game... also, the velociraptor was WAY more fun than playing as Dr. Grant...
Yeah it was a special game. Mark
Definitely gonna pick up Fading Afternoon. I really loved Friends of Ringo Ishikawa and I'm a huge sucker for yakuza games as well as games that really have a story to tell that can branch off.
11:10 Franks Red Hot 🔥 Also love that Peri Peri sauce tho too. Moonstone Island looks most interesting of this weeks picks. Would look gorgeous on OLED.
So good! That's the one! Mark
The Jurrasic park collection is on my radar as a fan of the movies. Moonstone Island looks very charming, looks like a perfect hand held chill out sort of game, very interesting
Fading Afternoon looks cool. I remember seeing a trailer for this a good while ago, but I think it went under a different title then.
Buffalo wings were invented in, and named after, the city of Buffalo, NY.
Sniper Elite 4 Deluxe edition needs a sale on Switch I see. ty for sharing.
"It's a bit of a tangent here so you'll have to forgive me" Mark, mate, with the amount of time we've likely all been watching, we're all good with the tangents, be worried if there weren't any.
I finished playing Hunter X codename T the other day. Pretty good game. Now im back to playing Rogue Legacy 2. I can never escape these rogue like games. 😅
Monolith reminds me of The Dig
Heh heh, love it when you and glen are together in the video. Monolith is excellent good shout lads, I believe it's hand painted 😊
Cheers mate ❤ - Mark
No Man's Sky (haven't started the adrift expedition stuff from what you guys said), MHRise+Sunbreak, Slay the Spire, and Empty Shell are on my menu this week. Moonstone Island is catching my eye though, going on the wishlist
I'm so excited moonstone island came to switch, I didn't know it was card based. Looking forward to grabbing itttt
I've been playing The Last Campfire which is amazing. And I was today years old when I knew that the Jurassic Park games were on the Switch!
Have you guys played Turbo Kid yet? Amazing unique Metroidvania
Oooooh not yet. Will do! Mark
Just finished Dave the Diver. The Godzilla DLC was so great.
Oh really, worth a review?
@@SwitchUpYt Probably not enough in the dlc for a review. But playing that during my first playthrough of Dave the Diver really put the game over the top.
Fading Afternoon is A VIBE
Yeah it's very cool. Mark
Just hopped into tunic after a few reviews, and wow was I lost for a while 😅, enjoying it a lot tho it feels very fresh!
I’m NOT that big of a fan of beat’em ups but 26:04 faded afternoon has that charm of both the art ad simplicity of the old snes ones I played from Japan imports that made it to my backlog.
30:10 sniper elite? Two words: NUT SHOT!
I have been replaying the OG tomb raider trilogy. They are pretty incredible for such old games and hard as nails. Finally going to crack them 25 years later!
This is promising to read. Would you say its worth buying the physical which comes out in September?
@jesssealey6552 yeah I would say that would be worth it and a really cool thing to own, they did a great job with the ports/remasters. Just a caveat that I am playing on PS5, I would probably struggle using the switch controller with tank controls but it's worth it if you are patient enough.
Fading Afternoon looks really good, I’ll be picking that up.
As for Sniper Elite 4, it’s one of the most played games on my Switch, me and my boy play it frequently together. It’s sublime on Switch, it’s a testament to Rebellion’s abilities developing on the device. *They made Strange Brigade also, but that’s more like a 3D Gauntlet with Guns, very Arcade like.
I love these personal play breakdowns, interesting to hear your thoughts guys 👍🏻
Tip top, dont fall seemed like a more precision based mountain climbing game. Maybe check that one out
You guys totally should make a game. Thatd be awesome. It's always fun hearing you guys chat. Thanks guys!
I've been playing Lamentum, very nice survival horror with Lovecraft influences. It's right up my alley for sure.
The friends of Ringo was one of my first switch games and I loved it. I would of gotten stone budda but it was to glitchy. Been waiting for another release from this studio.
At least in Buffalo, NY, the most common sauce on wings is Frank's Hot Sauce
Was trying to decide which game to play next, it can be difficult to choose sometimes… (for real) seeing this video I just saw the Jurassic Park collection, seems to be fitting my mood, so I just bought it. I like these old classic top down adventure type games they are very unique. Just about to play it for the first time. Cheers!
The Jurassic Park SNES version was my favorite I had it as a kid and remember playing it with my brother. So many good memories
2 things on moonstone island;
the monster bank/lab can be accessed even when Zed (scientist) isn’t there - the machine is behind the desk (orange jukebox looking thing).
On the music going quiet during times - I’m fairly certain stardew does a similar thing? Perhaps the ambient sounds in stardew aren’t as bare or something?
Sniper Elite 4. Love that game. Got it after watching your review of it from a while back.
I'll buy all of the DLC some time in the future.
Cheers.
Buffalo Sauce 😂 I just beat the main story in Dave the Diver. I want to check out Fading Afternoon, but I think I'm going to finish Spiritfarer first!
Awesome video guys! i have just finished playing atom rpg and now moving to Atom rpg Trudograd, anyone who enjoys old school CRPG or fallout 1&2 games would highly recommend for you to try out, NOT FOR KIDS!
Thank you Legends!
Ah good stuff! Mark
Right now I'm playing 4 games together... Moonstone Island, Islanders, Dredge, and Asphalt 9... cannot decide which one to spend more time on. Started Moonstone Island pretty recent, so just looking around in the game has been quite fun 😊
One of the first video games I played with my brother apart from Aladdin was the Jurassic park snes game! I bought the collection and am going to visit him in America to play it, will bring back so many memories 😊
YES! So good mate!
I’ve been really enjoying moonstone island. I don’t really mind that you can’t get spirits when the thing is closed. I just go oh well I’ll do it tomorrow. A phone like in stardew to know who is open what days without checking would be handy though.
Just sharing a sale that I am not sure if you guys covered. The Action Games Bundle is $1.99 and it includes Syndrome, Deflector, and Dakka Squadron. Very good deal.
I've been playing a lot of FC24 and Vampire Survivors lately. I'm actually surprised with FC. It's not perfect but it's a good improvement from the previous Switch versions in my opinion
Honestly might pickup a few of these today
I just finished a point and click called Crowalt. It was alright. Didn't have to use a guide at all. Biggest issues: No fast travel, no speed walk button. Walking was fine to start, but as you start going back and forth it became frustrating. Second issue: Bad translation. The English was not quite up to par.
On moonstone island when the research center is closed go behind the counter and click on the machine to manage monsters. You’re welcome. 😉
The games I am playing between were Hyrule Warriors, Paladins, Hogwarts Legacy, and BioShock 2 Remastered. I'm definitely have some good varieties in genres.
I thought Surmount looked interesting, so it was on my wish list, but not with that mechanic. Thank you for the heads up on that!
Moonstone island looks interesting
Sniper 4 is awesome, i bought this years ago based on the review you guys made, great game
Great selection as always. Haven’t heard of Fading Afternoon but definitely going to give it a butchers now!
I'm currently replaying Fallout 4 and am also playing Dave the Diver! Kinda wanna get on Elden Ring (have it around) so I know what my friends are excited about 😂
Surely
"Jack of all trades. Master of none"
Means exactly what you wanted to say 😂
Most interesting switch games IMO WRC Generations, Wreckfest, and V Rally 4
Fading Afternoon seems interesting! Keep these videos coming - it is so good inspiration!
Thank you! Will do!
flode or flue: let’s fine doubt
You should check out, Buddy Simulator 1984. It's a very interesting game that goes from text based to 2d to 2.5 to first person.
I love this series so much 😊
Really thought you were talking about a recent lads holiday to Italy for a second there while watching 🇮🇹 ⚽️ on the box. They could’ve used a decent shooter to be fair 😅
You talking about swinging between the trees makes me think of the game Gibbon: Beyond the Trees. It is one where you play as an ape parent whose child is taken by poachers. Also super cheap on Switch. Relaxing, great visuals, but had some replay value through time trials
I have never thought that I'd get to play Jurassic Park from gameboy color again. Thanks a lot, Nintendo Switch!🙏
I just cant seem to decide whether to take the plunge for Moonstone Island. I love the look of it, but something just holding me back
Love the Sniper Elite games, Strange Brigade another excellent co-op multiplayer from the same Devs.
Ya'll should totally make the Britannia game! I'd give it a go!
There's a game coming soon to Switch called RPG Maker with friends where you might actually be able to make a game together using it?
Moonstone Island looks so good!
We've got a review id you're interested! :)
@@SwitchUpYt Oh I know you guys had that up a few days now already. I’ve watched it a few times. Great game 🥳
Great video guys thanks, quick question? Which version of Tourican is best? There are so many
Tough question. Possibly Turrican 2, although Super Turrican is the one I grew up with.
Came for the games, stayed for the chat about franks buffalo sauce 😂
The map in Snes Jurassic Park is on the original cartridge. I still have it hoping I'll finally finish it with save states.😆
Ah, ok. I genuinely can't remember it having a map originally. Thanks for clarifying. Glen
I've been playing a lot of shovel Knight pocket dungeon and Gordian quest.
2:33 “it’s exactly like“ what? I cannot seem to understand what y’all say here. Maybe my hearing’s going 😂
What was the music on the ending credit from? I like it.
I picked up that Metal Slugs game and that's been weening me off of Balatro.
Moonstone island looks interesting.
My problem with many retro compilation titles I've picked up on Switch is why the image can't be made to fit your display (not stretched, making everything wide) and the ugly black bars or distracting backgrounds the developers added. I'd be better off firing up an emulator and not have these issues.
Fading afternoon awesome game if u don’t mind the slow pace
Hmmm Fading Afternoon. Shenmue Yakuza pixel sidescrolling mash-up
So I went to a smash brothers party the other day and we ended up playing a game called horse chicken it's a weird platformer where you sabotage everyone from getting to the end and I don't like platformers but wow it was so much fun I feel like you guys would really like that game it's an amazing party game I'm pretty sure it's called Horse chicken but ya thanks for the video guys . I'm getting moonstone island lol 😊
This "Monolith" game looks decent!! Thanks gents🤝
fading afternoon looks like 'the friends of ringo ishikawa'
Same dev
A better version
can wait for switch 2 and the steamdeck 2, if its ever made
Let's do it! Thanks guys.
moonstone island vibe like stardew valley
Good stuff guys.
Playing a lot of Maga Man 4 and Mega Man 9 from the Legacy collections
That Egypt level though
Will you please please let us know when sniper elite 4 goes on sale!? I played the original on PS2 when I was a teenager. I would enjoy this newer version so much, but my budget doesn't allow much for gaming.
I will. Mark
Monollith gives me vibes of a game called the dig really great point and click from way back lol
Ah loved that game I never finished it though I got stuck on the first planet! Mark
Completed it like 2 or 3 times I loved the game lol I swear there was only 1 planet too it was also one of those games were a book was written based on the game the author was Alan Dean Foster the audiobook is on here too
