Didn't you guys rave about Unicorn Overlord? One of the best scores I've seen you blokes give, but it didn't make not into your favourites? Interesting!
Apparently Another Crab's Treasure runs ok now in handheld, can anyone verify this?! I am desperate to play but I can only play in handheld so any insight would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
@@mojtecool9703I think the story could be a bit of more gritty in terms of losing certain characters "looking at Lex".. however it's overall outstanding like everything else in this game.
I realise I didn't put flipping Unicorn Overlord and Kingdom Come Deliverance on my list. This upsets me greatly they disappeared from my memory! They can be number 1+++ roll on that Christmas full list 😂. Mark
Part of me really wants to wait to grab it until it goes on sale, but another part of me thinks it's too recent and too good for it to go on sale anytime soon. Maybe when the second one gets ready to release, the price will drop?
When has Nintendo ever NOT been like: “oh we’re gonna just hold on to your credit card for you and then charge you accordingly for the rest of your life”? It’s been like that since the first nes was released!
Was trying to put my top 5 together in my head. Thought Pikmin 4 should be high, then realised it came out nearly a year ago. Time flies when you’re gaming!
Where is Prince of Persia : The Lost Crown ?? Hard to believe it's missing on your list when it is arguably the best game of 2024 and possibly the best Prince of Persia ever (even if it's a 2.5 D game) everyone who has played it absolutely loved it. Thank goodness there was a demo and I discovered this game, which i probably would not have played otherwise
Looking forward to seeing how this list changes when you reprise it in the 12 Days of SwitchUp given the possibility of some great games to finish out the year. What are you looking forward to? I wonder if you will like the hack and slash rogue like TMNT: Splintered Fate coming in July Glen.
Unicorn overlord is number 1 for me. Great graphics, good characters, fun gameplay. One of the best strategy RPGs I’ve ever played. Prince of Persia lost crown is definitely an honorable mention plus paper Mario which I didn’t play much when I was a kid, but playing it now, it’s amazing.
I came to the comments section in shock that Mark you hadn't picked Kingdom Come Deliverance! Relieved to see you acknowledged this in the comments. It's definitely my favourite Switch game of 2024.
Does it getting the top spot mean I might be right in assuming that Another Crab's Treasure is patched up to the point it's worth getting on the switch over another console now? 👀 Absolutely adore Aggro Crab's dev style but was pretty put off by the initial performance/graphics, altho the gameplay here looks a lot better than even the All Patched Up video!
No not at all sadly. It's had a few and docked is fine it just means it's a game I've loved this year. In fairness I totally forgot Unicorn overlord which trumps it by some distance. That can go in Christmas. Mark
My backlog hasn't got to 2024 yet. I like playing RPGs with my son, so the new Paper Mario is one on my watch list. SMT doesn't seem very child friendly😂
Well, that took a chunk out of my vacation bonus. Both SMTV:V and Thousand year door. Plus the DLC because I know this is an SMT game and if there's one thing I always want in SMT it's less grind. The money package is kind of useless if they still let you pull the same thing they did in SMTIV, because in that case I'm going with a heavy paralysis team this time too. (In case you're wondering, In SMTIV if you paralyze an enemy demon and then bargain with it, instead of the usual banter that comes up if you "ask" them for money, they go "Uh-oh, I can't move! This is bad..." and then basically just let you mug them for every macca they're worth...)
Nice list! Lots of these games I didn't expect to see. Had lots of unique picks that I really didn't see coming which made it a way more interesting watch. My favourite was unicorn overlord by a large margin. I beat it, and was really disappointed that I had no more of it to play, so I did something I've never done before and immediately beat it again on true zenorian difficulty
Imagine Earth is my favourite this year so far. Great little game and the developers nailed the gameplay and the controls. Not for everybody, but if you like strategy games it's worth it's price.
Thanks for the list fellas! One request, could you put the title of the game you are currently discussing on-screen at all times? E.g. below the badge in the top right corner, or maybe another corner of the video?
I look forward to geting Another Crab's Treasure one a patch that makes it run well in handled comes out. Hopefully one of these days, you'll put out a patchup video letting us know. 🤞
I recently completed xuan yuan sword 7 and it was a really good game. Looked kitna like the witcher but i loved the storyline and little humour that goes around your highness (parrot)
Solid list guys ! Some of my games this year paper mario 1k door ,smt vegence ,eiyuden chronicles ,unicorn overlord ,star ocean second story ,monster hunter stories . I know there all rpgs 😅 but hey year isnt over yet .
I knew Atlus would release a new version of SMTV at some point, so I waited. Interestingly, MegaTen games are one of the first if not the first to feature monster taming, if I'm not mistaken. The first game came out in 1987. Anyway, I have been attempting to put a dent in the backlog, but as for releases this year I have really been enjoying Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons. Very relaxing and a great palate cleanser between bigger games.
For me Top-5 would look as follows, thus far: 1. Unicorn Overlord 2. SMT V Vengeance 3. Monster Hunter Stories HD 4. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown 5. Eiyuden Chronicle Still need to play Paper Mario and Beyond G&E HD though.
This is going to be a long one I warn you as I have fallen for this game. Been playing Outward since it's patch (as I never play anything day one), and have spent well over 100 hours on my main character so far.(The end game content is meaty). Loving the exploration, adventure and freedom, the fact that you start as a shipwrecked nobody who has to truly struggle to survive at first. Fighting hard, looting everything, crafting and trading between regions to work your way up and train under masters and once you start getting a build feeling powerful and being able to take on harder and harder things that felt impossible before, to get those epic goodies. There are so many classes and potential combinations that there is tons of replayability which fits well given the main story has multiple factions that you have to pick one for your game to enjoy its quest lines and interesting story which is just a part of the larger tapestry of the whole games story/ world lore that you can only experience in its entirety if you replay multiple times to do each of the factions playthrough. My husband was jealous of how fun it looked and so bought himself a copy and I have a second character for co-op playing on his world, so I'm already experiencing a second factions storyline and multiplayer works flawlessly. Plus the game feels so fun even the second time round given how different I am building my character this time, solo was a speed archer, trap assassin, co-op I've gone full triple threat mage.
Unicorn Overlord best game atm on the nintendo switch. Ogre Battle would be proud. Wish the writing was a bit better though Gameplay and combat design are elite.
I have a backlog backlog so I’ve actually only completed one good 2024 Switch release - the horror / puzzle / point-and-click game HOUSE which released in March. Solid game though. Sort of a morbid Sierra Games game.
