On installation, I got multiple lags and had to restart for me to install it to my local drive. I would suggest (for older laptops like mine) to turn off network while installing. Great video man. You're a life saver.

Hi. Thanks your your comment. Good point. Also keep in mind that the older the system is, the longer it takes. And depends also on how used your USB drive is... I have a USB from a triple pack that I used it more often then the other two and sometimes the installation on/from it can take up to 2h. And with the other two 15-20min max

To anyone who can't get the play store or even Linux working, Check your storage and to have at least 16GB of storage available. if that's not it, try to make sure that you have virtualization enabled in your computer's BIOS or UEFI Firmware. this could be called Vt-d for intel or SVM on AMD but could be named differently depending on your board or make and model.

To install on a partition, you need to use the Grub2wi method. You can find videos about it in my playlist - "How to install Chrome OS on Windows 11" and "How to install Chrome OS on Windows 10"

@@TheArtmann I managed to install Windows 11 and Ubuntu which dual boot. I changed my BIOS settings to legacy and disabled secure boot which enabled me to install Windows 11 initially on the entire hard drive. I then created free space inside windows enough to install Ubuntu. I placed the Ubuntu bootloader on the same installation partition (sda5). I rebooted and went back straight into Windows OS then used EasyBCD to automatically search for Linux on the Ubuntu partition. That worked and I can dual boot using my Windows 11 bootloader.
I would like experimenting installing the Chrome OS onto a USB of size either 16 GB or 64 GB then clone that USB with Chrome OS onto another free space or simple volume partition. I don't know if EasyBCD can pick the bootloader for ChromeOS from the cloned partition.

Like I showed in the video at the end when I installed on my SSD. You need to know figure out which one is your SSD, and which one is your HDD. In my case the SSD was "sda". And yes, for this method, if you have two drives... One with windows and one with Chrome OS, you need to go everytime in boot menu and select Chrome OS. If you have Chrome OS only, without windows, then you don't need to do this

The difference is that this way it's way easier to isntall (if your device is compatible). With Linux is longer and more complicated.
I'm not saying that Linux way is bad. Absolutely not. I have a bunch of videos about it. But having the chrome os image and just flashing it on USB with Rufus and then bam.. chrome os.. I would say is the better, faster, easier way

how to fix sudo command will not succeed by default if you want to use sudo commands use vt-2 shell

    • @TheArtmann
      @TheArtmann  9 месяцев назад +2

If you're facing an issue where the `sudo` command does not work by default and you want to use `sudo` commands with the `vt-2` shell, you can try the following steps to fix it:
      1. Open a terminal or command prompt.
      2. Type `sudo visudo` and press Enter. This will open the sudoers file in the default text editor.
      - If prompted, enter your password.
      - Note: You may need to use the `sudoedit` command instead of `sudo visudo` if that is the default configuration on your system.
      3. Look for the line that starts with `Defaults secure_path=` and make a note of the existing value after the equals sign (`=`).
      4. Append `:/usr/local/bin` to the end of the existing value. Make sure to separate it from the previous value with a colon (`:`).
      - For example, if the existing value is `/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin`, it should become `/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/bin`.
      5. Save the sudoers file and exit the text editor.
      - In most editors, you can press Ctrl+X, then Y, and finally Enter to save and exit.
      6. Close the current terminal or command prompt window.
      7. Open a new terminal or command prompt.
      8. Try running a `sudo` command again to see if it works now.
By adding `/usr/local/bin` to the secure_path, you are allowing the `sudo` command to search for executables in that directory. This should enable the use of `sudo` commands with the `vt-2` shell.

Try rammus image. But you have a low voltage CPU (the letter U stand for low voltage CPU) and most of them can't run Chrome OS installed. Just from USB. Try running it from USB without installing.

Ok. After your suggestion, I decided on Chroome OS (no Linux, USB installation variant). Can I install Chroome OS on this laptop and which of your options from the list. Laptop Dell Inspiron 1520 Intel core 2 duo t7100 1.80ghz. Thanks in advance for the reply and advice.

That's something that I had cleared already. This comment is more than 2 months old as u can see. Things changed and learned since then. I know that u can't install it on VM and is what I also tell ppl now.
Yes, my fault.. I forgot about this specific comment, but I see that u trace my comments way back, then u also must have seen that I say this to ppl

I have one request however. My Lenovo N21 now runs on Rammus 94 smoothly with no problems except 1 which is no sound or mic. I tried the fix in Brunch but didn't work. And another problem which is storage that's limited to 16 gb.
I was wondering if you could show us how to make such images to boot from usb with brunch for other images. I want to try images from Lenovo N22 to see if it solves the problem. And USB method is the only way I could install chromeos. Linux method didn't work..

@@TheArtmann I have an Intel celeron 2840. It could handle FydeOS and Rammus 94 very well, beside the sound problem in both OS's.
