@@TheArtmann I've read some post and comments from people who use AMD CPU as me, they said if zork recovery is suitable for AMD CPUs, and some said that grunt is the one that will work. And yes, I've tried to reinstall it more than three times, and still getting the same result. And I also tried the triple boot method from How To Guys channel (cmiiw), but it only showing blank/ black screen. I waited for quite long time, but nothing's happened. My CPU is AMD A8, and I guess my CPU is not supported to use ChromeOS, thanks for replying btw😁
@@rachmatzr3071 u have legacy or UEFI? Because if u have legacy it will not work. I have the same issue on an older laptop. No matter what I try, since weeks, it doesn't work.
I don't find something about A8. I know about AMD is grunt for Stoney and Bristol Ridge and zork for Ryzen3. I will keep looking into it, maybe I find something.

Hi. I honestly never heard this till now. Usually when it's an issue.. like with internet... Is because of wifi or Ethernet failing to connect. But to connect to them and not have internet I never heard. I need to do some research about that.

So I login as a guest then run the connectivity test in the diagnostic setting and here are the result - Local network: WARNING can't contact gateway - Name resolution: PASSED - Wi-Fi: PASSED - Internet Connectivity FAILED: can't connect to firewall to HTTPS website I have tried these steps: - PING my gateway IP address through CROSH command prompt and the result is OK - disable firewall in my wireless router - Connect to portable hotspot using my phone mobile data but the problem persisted (Wi-Fi is connected but no internet) Thanks 😊

Hey man. Thanks for your comment and for your subscribe:) if you want to install on 2 separate drives, then I suggest the Linux mint method or directly from USB. Not grub2win. Check out my latest video, there you find more details about installing on different drives, and also directly from USB
Try rebooting in windows. Once in windows, shut down the laptop from the start button but hold down the shift key still the laptop is completely off. Then start and enter in Chrome. It worked for me

I still think the name is nvme0n1 but to be sure (because there are also other names like "mmcblk0" tho Idk which ones have this name) you can verify this in Linux mint, with gparted. Make a Linux mint USB and open gparted and there u get the names of all ur drives
@@TheArtmann I just did use Linux Cinnamon mint in USB drive with gparted. My disk uses "sdbX" naming(ex. sdb4). Unfortunately the errors are the same. Nothing changed.
You can try. This method is more loose then the Linux method. But if this also doesn't work then you should try to install android. I have a video about installing Android in my playlist. Cheers
Yes. That's why I specified that for 3rd gen is recommended samus image. But to be more precise, if you check the github page, it says.. n I quote.. " "rammus" is suggest for 1st gen -> 9th gen". So nobody says it will not work on 3rd gen or lower, but fromy experience it will be full of bugs, like touch pad or keyboard not working, wifi etc
I'm not sure what is causing the problem. Maybe try installing Android instead of Chrome. You can find a link about how to install android on laptop in my playlist

Hey, thanks for your comment. Well I did tried samus for 7th gen (which I guess is like using rammus for 3rd gen) and the touchpad and keyboard didn't worked. So, stuff like this can happen.

Bro I first had win 7 installed then I installed zorin os (dual boot )and after some time I installed win 10 altogether . But not I m not getting any boot options for zorin os . Early there was zorin os's grub menu but not windows grub menu and only win 7 and win 10 is showing Plz help
You need a Chrome os image. And u make a Chrome os image using brunch framework, of course. The reason why I didn't showed in this video is because I said something like "if u want to know how to make the chrome os video check out this other video" blah blah. Anyway, there are also ready to use recovery images in the description. U can just download that

So I've checked now and besides removing the battery there isn't much. There is another option but kinda unstable: "How to Bypass or Remove a BIOS Password using Software: !BIOS is a freeware utility that is designed to be a whole BIOS and security suite. It has the ability to decrypt the passwords used in some of the most common BIOS makes such as Award, Phoenix, American Megatrends, IMB, etc. It also has the ability to brute force the password (known as “blasters”). @@lennyk9698 well, u made a partition right? And if u followed all the steps, at one point, after installing Grub2Win, u need to click on "partition list" button in Grub2Win and there u will see the exact name of your partition.. either something like "sda" followed by a number or, if u have NVMe, something like "nvme0n1p1" for example. Whatever name u have there for the partition u created, u need to put it in the script, replacing "sdax". Try to find the name and follow the tutorial again and you will figure it out
@L. K my bad... In partition list u don't see the name, just the number. So.. what u need to find out if ur drive is really nvme. U said in ur comment that u tried nvm4 so I presume that 4 is the number shown in partition list? If yes, then try with "nvme0n1p4"
Dual booting is not natively supported with BIOS/MBR devices. so changing got with MBR will not work. You can make a clean install on legacy/MBR if you follow the instructions from my Legacy Dedicated video. If you have 2 drives on you PC you can have windows on 1 and chrome on the other. Cheers

Because there's a incompatibility. Celeron is not compatible with Chrome OS rammus. Check out my video Why you CAN'T Install Chrome OS " from my Chrome OS playlist to learn how to check if your CPU is compatible with Chrome OS
Yes. My images are standard size. The only way you could modify it's size is if you install it and frun it from USB. There you can resize the image to fit the whole USB storage. I don't have the .bin files. I haven't checked cros.tech yet
ok worked this out the hard way. start from scratch. then when it gets to the sodo bash command to convert the .bin to .img after the chromeos.img type (space) -s (space) then the size in gigabytes of your partition. (check this in disk manager because it will be less than the size you specified and round down to the nearest gigabyte). this will then create a .img of the correct size

I;ve had this very same problem. Havent tried this way, but same thing happens when I run Chrome OS Flex from a USB stick....the clock dispays inaccurate time when i boot into windows..off by 4 hours if i am remembering correctly,,,Thinkpad x240

That's an old video:) I misspelled grant with grunt.. I meant grunt. Although, recently I've found out that many CPUs with "U" (low voltage) in the end both AMD and Intel, like in ur case 2500U... don't work that well or not at all with Chrome. I suggest you to make first a live CD and test it before tryin to install. Watch some of my newer chrome os videos (check my playlist for "how to install chrome os from USB")
And also... I don't think grunt is the right image for you. For Ryzen processors is recommended zork. You can also find images to download from the description

Hi. Your CPU is most probably not compatible with Chrome OS. Is to old for this OS. Same as 1st and 2nd gen i core CPUs and core2duo. If you want to make sure if it's compatible or not check out my video "Why you CAN'T install Chrome OS on your device" from my Chrome OS playlist. There you'll see how you can find out if your CPU is compatible with Chrome OS and if it is, then how to find the right image for it

Btw, I tried one other method as well i.e. I downloaded volteer r94 ready image from your website and used ruffus to make a bootable usb drive , it did seem to load the inital setup, but after builiding, and patching screen, my screen started to flicker (it was all black while flickering like it was turning on and off)

Windows 11 needs secure boot to be turned on while to use grub u have to disable secure boot, i guess u need to enable secure boot to install windows 11 and then turn it off later and use dual boot!

Hello, Because of Bitlocker on my drives, grub2win offered and was installed on C:/grub2 directory, as advanced option(EFI drive). Funnily, in Windows, it says my drives are "unlocked" from Bitlocker, but while on Disk Management" says they are of type "NTFS(BitLocker Encrypted)". I followed closely all steps, but when finally booting ChromeOS I get "ERROR: no such device: /ChromeOS/rammus_image.img ERROR: file 'ChromeOS/rammus_image.img' not found" Please give a hint what could the issue be? Hi. I just want to mention that ur previous comment was deleted (not by me.. maybe RUclips, idk why) and I didn't got the chance to read it. I was curious why u said that this video is not relevant anymore? True.. is some months old, but that doesn't make it irrelevant. There are many ppl with older systems and windows 10 that need an "older" solution. And that's not all.. if u search for newer videos urself, I have another 2 videos about dual boot - for windows 11 up to Chrome r93, and the latest new method for chrome r94 and higher. You can find all of them in my ChromeOS playlist
U'll always download .bin.. that's the way it works. U need to make the .bin in .img. the images from the description I personally made them to make it easier for you guys to install and skip some steps But originally, the .bin needs conversation. That doesn't make the video irrelevant:)
You don't just convert it from bin to iso.. that will not work.. next to bin u also need the brunch framework and others.. check my playlist.. I have more chrome os videos, and in some u'll also see how to make an image. I also have images ready for download in the description. Cheers

I installed chromeos on my pendrive and tried to install it by erasing data , my pc shut downed in between and now windows is also deleted and my pc keeps restarting when I try to install chromeos or Linux via usb (when loading reach 90% pc restarts and os still not installed)

Try rebooting in windows. Once in windows, shut down the laptop from the start button but hold down the shift key still the laptop is completely off. Then start and enter in Chrome. It worked for me

Do you have UEFI or Legacy? I guess the problem is that you have Legacy Bios and Chrome OS supports just UEFI

I created an NTFS partition with more than 100gb
I gave the letter G
I used gparted to find out that sda is sda4
I renamed the information and put it in Grub2
When I restart and ask to start ChromeOS it says it didn't find Chromeos on sda4
Where can I be wrong?

I still think the name is nvme0n1 but to be sure (because there are also other names like "mmcblk0" tho Idk which ones have this name) you can verify this in Linux mint, with gparted. Make a Linux mint USB and open gparted and there u get the names of all ur drives
@@TheArtmann I just did use Linux Cinnamon mint in USB drive with gparted. My disk uses "sdbX" naming(ex. sdb4). Unfortunately the errors are the same. Nothing changed.

You can try. This method is more loose then the Linux method. But if this also doesn't work then you should try to install android. I have a video about installing Android in my playlist. Cheers

Yes. That's why I specified that for 3rd gen is recommended samus image. But to be more precise, if you check the github page, it says.. n I quote.. " "rammus" is suggest for 1st gen -> 9th gen". So nobody says it will not work on 3rd gen or lower, but fromy experience it will be full of bugs, like touch pad or keyboard not working, wifi etc

I'm not sure what is causing the problem. Maybe try installing Android instead of Chrome. You can find a link about how to install android on laptop in my playlist

You need a Chrome os image. And u make a Chrome os image using brunch framework, of course. The reason why I didn't showed in this video is because I said something like "if u want to know how to make the chrome os video check out this other video" blah blah.

U need to remember your password. That's not something that u can just skip. One way is to remove the CMOS battery, to guess. Better Google this up

I honestly don't know bro. When I have a question that I don't know the answer I also Google till I find something. But with the bios bypass I know there aren't many options
So I've checked now and besides removing the battery there isn't much.
There is another option but kinda unstable:

And if u followed all the steps, at one point, after installing Grub2Win, u need to click on "partition list" button in Grub2Win and there u will see the exact name of your partition.. either something like "sda" followed by a number or, if u have NVMe, something like "nvme0n1p1" for example. Whatever name u have there for the partition u created, u need to put it in the script, replacing "sdax". Try to find the name and follow the tutorial again and you will figure it out
@L. K my bad... In partition list u don't see the name, just the number. So.. what u need to find out if ur drive is really nvme.
U said in ur comment that u tried nvm4 so I presume that 4 is the number shown in partition list?
If yes, then try with "nvme0n1p4"

My HARD drive is MBR, but your code has GPT written in it.. what to do?
Dual booting is not natively supported with BIOS/MBR devices. so changing got with MBR will not work. You can make a clean install on legacy/MBR if you follow the instructions from my Legacy Dedicated video. If you have 2 drives on you PC you can have windows on 1 and chrome on the other. Cheers

You can't increase it if you dual boot. You need to make the image on your own and give what storage amount u want

You need to make your own image the exact size as the partition

Yes. My images are standard size. The only way you could modify it's size is if you install it and frun it from USB. There you can resize the image to fit the whole USB storage.
I don't have the .bin files. I haven't checked cros.tech yet

mine too only have half a dozen apps installed and getting alow disk space warning
ok worked this out the hard way. start from scratch. then when it gets to the sodo bash command to convert the .bin to .img after the chromeos.img type (space) -s (space) then the size in gigabytes of your partition. (check this in disk manager because it will be less than the size you specified and round down to the nearest gigabyte). this will then create a .img of the correct size

AMD has very limited support for chrome os. If your processor isn't in Stoney Ridge, Bristol Ridge or Ryzen 3 generations then it will not work
Thanks! Got it to work but would you know how can I correct the wrong time in Windows caused by the dual boot? It defaults back to UTC when I boot it to Windows. Time is fine in ChromeOS though

That's an old video:) I misspelled grant with grunt.. I meant grunt. Although, recently I've found out that many CPUs with "U" (low voltage) in the end both AMD and Intel, like in ur case 2500U... don't work that well or not at all with Chrome. I suggest you to make first a live CD and test it before tryin to install. Watch some of my newer chrome os videos (check my playlist for "how to install chrome os from USB")
And also... I don't think grunt is the right image for you. For Ryzen processors is recommended zork. You can also find images to download from the description

Hi. Your CPU is most probably not compatible with Chrome OS. Is to old for this OS. Same as 1st and 2nd gen i core CPUs and core2duo. If you want to make sure if it's compatible or not check out my video "Why you CAN'T install Chrome OS on your device" from my Chrome OS playlist. There you'll see how you can find out if your CPU is compatible with Chrome OS and if it is, then how to find the right image for it

Btw, I tried one other method as well i.e. I downloaded volteer r94 ready image from your website and used ruffus to make a bootable usb drive , it did seem to load the inital setup, but after builiding, and patching screen, my screen started to flicker (it was all black while flickering like it was turning on and off)
I got thru all the stuff and installing grub2win. But after picking chrome os it says that it can't find the img

Windows 11 needs secure boot to be turned on while to use grub u have to disable secure boot, i guess u need to enable secure boot to install windows 11 and then turn it off later and use dual boot!

@@06ronak6 theres a button on keyboard by which airplane mode is turned on its different on all laptops, its usually has sign of wifi on it.

So u want one drive for windows and one for chrome? You want your HDD (all of it) to be for chrome?

Because of Bitlocker on my drives, grub2win offered and was installed on C:/grub2 directory, as advanced option(EFI drive). Funnily, in Windows, it says my drives are "unlocked" from Bitlocker, but while on Disk Management" says they are of type "NTFS(BitLocker Encrypted)".
I followed closely all steps, but when finally booting ChromeOS I get
"ERROR: no such device: /ChromeOS/rammus_image.img
ERROR: file 'ChromeOS/rammus_image.img' not found"
Please give a hint what could the issue be? Thanks

True.. is some months old, but that doesn't make it irrelevant. There are many ppl with older systems and windows 10 that need an "older" solution. And that's not all.. if u search for newer videos urself, I have another 2 videos about dual boot - for windows 11 up to Chrome r93, and the latest new method for chrome r94 and higher. You can find all of them in my ChromeOS playlist
And as for your question, do u have NVMe drive?
@@TheArtmann yes, because the rammus file i downloaded was in .BIN format, not .IMG. But later i got rammus94.IMG from your other link bellow.
U'll always download .bin.. that's the way it works. U need to make the .bin in .img. the images from the description I personally made them to make it easier for you guys to install and skip some steps But originally, the .bin needs conversation. That doesn't make the video irrelevant:)

how did you create a 14gb image file sir? i only do convert the chromeos bin to iso in power iso but its only 3gb
You don't just convert it from bin to iso.. that will not work.. next to bin u also need the brunch framework and others.. check my playlist.. I have more chrome os videos, and in some u'll also see how to make an image. I also have images ready for download in the description. Cheers
