I am barely an hour in and chose scoundrel background with alien DNA adoring fan and wanted. I am going to restart and keep everything the same except choose the kid stuff instead of alien DNA. I think it will fit well with my role playing of wanting to be a lovable scoundrel trouble maker but with a heart of gold who wants to keep his parents happy.
The wanted trait is kind of a role play aspect but it's also good for some easy credits every now and then bc you can take their ship after they attack you. Especially easy on planets. Little more tricky in space.
I completely forgot I chose it and got attacked randomly and was very confused and got destroyed 😂 Another time I was on a planet and a ship landed, turns out it was bounty hunters but I managed to persuade them to leave without paying them anything 😂
If you picked wanted, recommend getting the Mantis ship early so you have better defense against bounty hunters early on, two showed up and they weren't too difficult. Just don't forget the targeting lock perk!
In all honesty, the Introvert trait along with the Isolated perk means you do a ridiculous amount of damage on your own. Its perfect for a lone wolf playthrough.
Yes playing solo now with isolation nearly maxed gets you a massive bonus, didn't pick the introvert trait at the start though will next time. Companions are almost useless anyway.
@@spike178 A good thing to note for Introvert is that it specifically says “Human” companions, meaning Vasco is perfectly viable, and also with the Isolated perk, you can’t have companions or crew on your ship, so I’d invest a lot of perks into the science and ship skill trees to maximise your damage output in dogfights.
Thank you guys for being spoiler free, I've been nervous to watch videos from other content creators but glad I can rely on you guys to not spoil anything major!
The pistol is probably the best weapon to have early game. There’s tons of methods to make a lot of money, which means you can load up on tons of .45 ACP
it seems like a lot of them are able to be removed if u regret it but that also means you cant get any 3rd one again i picked wanted and later on met a bounty hunter chick who could remove the trait by paying her a certain amount so i did and it didnt give me another trait or anything so i reloaded a save since the people that hunt you down are basically free ship parts/loot
That house is nice. Reminds me of my Playstation Home crib. These traits are tough to choose from. I chose kid stuff, bounty and a faction affiliation that i forgot already.
I don’t think I want my parents there. “Why do you keep going around the galaxy? Why don’t you find a nice girl? Are our grandchildren out there in the galaxy?”
They are actually more supportive than you think I love this trait they just gifted me a whole ship cuz dad won a game of poker and won a ship he was like I’m not gonna use it so I thought of you
There is a hidden room in starting area before reaching for the first artifact. Jump down to the right and mine some small rocks in the wall to reveal a room with 3 Europium ores
I have the Wanted trait on my character. I was out at the planet and area where you have the constellation office and lodge. Was out about a 200 meters or so out from the lodge just cataloging some fauna with scanning when totally out of the blue like a surprise sneak roll up Bounty Hunters appeared. They offered to negotiate for 2000 credits. Wasn’t having it. Three others were in hiding besides the one doing the talking. Good thing was still in tactical gear for the sneak up. It was a firefight for sure. They both looked and seemed a little tougher than regular pirates. With the RNG picked up a nice blue spacesuit out of it and a nice sum of credits. But now I know being Wanted mean Bounty Hunters can come sneaking up on you randomly at anytime. And I just roll with it in a bit of roll play.
Alien DNA is one of my must haves. Healing items don't mean much to me, if I need a med-pack I'll accept whatever healing it gives me in combat, but out of combat, just a 1 hr rest at any bench/bed will restore HP to full so .. yeah. Now I'm just having a tough time filling in my other 2 slots. I really like the idea of Taskmaster (since credits aren't really a problem, and a chance for free repairs is ALSO nice) lol But man.. Kid Stuff does give nice stuff (the pistole and the... later item) or Wanted could end up getting you a lot of XP and loot... and ships.. probably the best one there. Hero Worshipped seems really fun though XD
I honestly dont think they made the hero worshipped trait annoying enough lol. Made it a whole playthrough with him as my sidekick and he didnt really bother me too much. He also ironically has a pretty great carry weight
You can also use decoration mode to place misc items if you drop them. There is a glitch right now that some of it may half clip in the surface. But still cool
You don't have to be in decoration mode. Any small item with physics can be picked up and manipulated. For example, you can just put a trash can/bucket over someone's head and they can't see you steal.
There is also another penthouse u can purchase when u go speak to the bartender at the club near neon city.. really interesting how some of these penthouses are hidden in plain sight.
@8:20 Rep for House Va'Rund is in the UC police lock up. She's bald and in full House armor but why you would ever risk the wrath of the lord serpent by leaving his house is beyond me brother! Don't give in to the lies and prepare for the lords inevitable return.
My first thoughts: Wanted - helps you to get the piloting achievements, adds a bit of excitement to the often bland and barren planets and you can sometimes take the starships of those who were after you.. Plus the damage perk, that can save your life. It is absolutely worth it Kids Stuff - for a small weekly "fee" you get special items from time to time and at one point even a starship. Worth it Adoring Fan - can be very good as a pack mule in the beginning and if you are annoyed of him you dont have to kill him.. just assign him to an outpost.. also he is free of personal values, he wont dislike anything you do, even if its really evil..
To access the house varuun embassy just join the vanguard and play through their sotry missions. Eventually they give you a key to get in. I wont spoil anything though
Of course they leave, the only reason they're able to live in New Atlantis is because of what you send home. They're retired after all and their pensions don't cover it
Not enough people are coming back to this. I started a new playthrough and went with Extrovert, Dream Home, and UC. Knowing the ramifications of NG+, or at least understanding that you can't take stuff with you, but you'll have the same optional traits? My build was designed to give me a solid platform at every new game, but the advantages can be felt throughout the whole thing.
You meet your parents in other places as well. I met them looking over the little zoo in Akila. They also give a nice new ship, and even gran gran's old space suit with legendary specs.
There is a secret entrance with a whole quest for the varun house but it’s part of the main quest I think cause yes it’s closed but because everyone left the embassy and you get to walk through it if you find the entrance.
Wanted was nice because I had space battles spawn much more frequently making it easier when leveling those skills. At first bounty hunters show up on foot but that stopped early on.
Picked Alien Dna, dream home and taskmaster. Next play through will pick Alien dna, dream home and introvert and on very hard level because game is so easy on normal skill level.
Wait... The mortgage attached to Dream Home doesn't have interest? Just an access fee? I can use it as a main base I return to every few in-game months as needed, or just ignore the thing until I can pay it off outright? What was the downside of this again? 😝 I think this, Kid Stuff, and the Fan (Free crew member! Woo!) have the best ratio of Benefit to Cost, at least for someone who wants more NPCs to interact with. At least for a first playthrough. It might be worth switching out Kid Stuff and Fan for a Faith and Faction Trait once we know more about them.
Sell weapons. 120k is honestly chump change. As a tip, armor can have the holstered unique traight that makes weapons weigh 50% less. This should be a suit you NEVER sell or misplace until you find a better one.
If you want some better decorating options you won't have everything at hand when you get your first house you need to research 3 tiers of decorations on the computer but need the outpost engineering skill for rank 2 and 3 you can also get some posters unlock s by doing select side quests in the game.
Ya you missed a lot of important info on the traits. Secret info maybe? Like the parents using the 2% to buy you stuff and free ships. The house varun options are cool too you can see the embasodor from doing the side quests with xomophs or whatever when you need all 3 ambasodors.
Personally with wanted it's not something you want to use constantly but helpful in a pinch like nerd rage in fallout 4 You don't want to be low health constantly but it will happen eventually and a quick boost to finish off the boss is nice.
Exactly the three i picked 😅 I think these are 3 of the best traits. Maybe the house too, but i thought its not much of gameplay value in the long run sonce u get other mansions an can build outposts which provide the same functions
I first started this what I was doing so I just picked this. PS thank you for the video , So I pick space scoundrel. for traits, hero worship , kids, stuff, and taskmaster
So it makes sense we can only join 1 religious faction, but how does it work with the others (especially the big ones), are they also mutually exclusive?
Am I the only person who picked Empath,Taskmaster and Wanted? Taskmaster is perfect for ship builders that want full crews because the crew specific ship section gets fixed automatically during battles Empath is also a crew based buff machine that only requires you make decisions that your companion favors Wanted adds the ability to be harder to kill plus you get random encounters from loot heavy bounty hunters
I didnt even see kid stuff option i picked bounty hunter and so far i havent noticed any special storylines or anything. they mentioned it once in the very beginning and that was it hahaha
I picked hero worship kid stuff and taskmaster the hero worship just sounded good someone who worships and lets you know all the time as you can also get him as a crew mate rite away while talking to him. The kid stuff i just like the parent thing i saw you could cancel it but it just did not feel rite so would not touch it lol with task master you get a a chance a crew member can instantly repair a bit of your ship and i think other stuff but they cost double to hire.
Dream Home is one of the worst traits. There's never any reason to go to your home, when you always have a ship with you, and NG+ deletes everything you've built and puts you back in debt. Wanted is one of the best. The damage bonus is nice, but the real benefit is having bounty hunters show up and give you free xp and loot. You also get dialogue options, which can be fun.
I picked up alien dna, hero worshipped and empathy because im a good guy and generally dont like to have the security as another problem in these games, and also because it gives me a boost
Think of it more as a Home Base with an access fee. If you want to use it as a warehouse, you need to build the storage units to put the stuff in, and then return every time you need to drop something off or pick something back up. It isn't automatic.
Wait, so when you pay the 500 to access your house it doesn't pay off the mortgage? So the mortgae stays at 125,000 no matter how many times you pay the 500 access fee?
@@jordanlawsonsr.3103 not sure what you meant. You get and apartment from Dream Home, several things including an exclusive ship from Kid Stuff, and loot/exp from Wanted

Thats funny i want the kid stuff because i never experience dad stuff irl
argh IM Stuck on character creation choosing between Kid stuff or Wanted.
Kid
@@wukieferits what I went with
Adoring fan cuz of oblivion, dream home and kid stuff. So imma be paying $ 😂
@@RUclipsCensorsI thought it didn’t allow you to choose both kid stuff and dream home.
What traits did you pick
Do the downsides of the faction traits apply only if you commit crime? If I never commit crimes in Starfield don't I have any downsides?
I picked the trait and am at him but I haven't got the option to get the gun?
I took the hero one, but dennied the fan from joining my crew, hopping that down the line ill get better fans maybe some girls, but never happen, how can I find the fan back? xD
What happens after removing alien dna? Can you pick another trait or would i just be left with 2 traits ?
Currently you can't gain traits inly remove
Is kid stuff the only way to get the 1911?
I doubt it since it has its own ammo type.
why does mom look like a damn FISH who designs these NPCs lmao
“In case you didn’t know”
Meanwhile the game isn’t even released yet…..
Early access right now for ppl who pre ordered it like myself
You can just buy for 30 bucks with game pass
Can you get any traits after you pick your 3? Meaning if you get rid of one of them. Can you grab another one? Or only at the start?
No you can’t get new traits but you can remove traits. So what you pick is what you get. Unless you replay the game. You can get rid of traits
