Then comes Luca Turilli with reverse sweep (Rhapsody : Dawn of Victory sweep section). The tab is simple but when playing, it really mess with our muscle memory.
Is this a good one for someone just starting on sweeping? I played a long time just never got any good at this stuff yet.. I am giving it another try now.
There are probably easier exercises out there for starting out as you could maybe start with two or three string sweeps, but for five string sweeps I think this would work pretty well.
Yea, no problem with that as long as it’s comfortable. I had a teacher who use to use that type of fingering for all of his sweeps that would usually use barres.
Usually a hammer-on, I believe. Sometimes on the way back down, I catch it with an upstroke and then a downstroke. Definitely a couple of ways to make it work.
I’ve got a follow-up to this video here. This one focuses on 3-string sweeps: Three String Sweep Picking Exercise / Etude ruclips.net/video/DXUB2MAInuY/видео.html
Definitely a bit of a tricky spot. I usually find dropping my shoulder a bit helps. I actually have a video up on working on your stretching that might be helpful.
For that shape, I’m using 1-3-3-2-1-1-4 (F#-A-D-F#-A-D-F#) and then the same fingers on the way back down, rolling with the third finger and first finger both times. Hope that helps!
Been a while since I wrote it, but I think I was mostly thinking of a combo of voice leading and what is “functionally correct” in classical music. Certain chords in the key have to lead into other chords based on their function. For instance, V would usually lead into i or VI. VI would lead to iv or V or III. We had to go through a lot if it in our music theory classes in college.
Backing track now up for this exercise if you want to practice along with it!

Sounds amazing, how do you get that tone??
Tone is all from Neural DSP’s Archetype: Plini plugin 😉

@@gotex2796 thanks man. i wrote this when i was starting guitar lol, looking back at my noobie comments is funny haha
can we use 3 fingers, if the sweep picking 1 finger on 3 string?

backing track?
It seems like you're throwing in an extra note or something after the pull off in most of these sweeps, but it's not on the tab?
wat do you do with 2 notes om 1 string? slide or hammer on pull off???
Usually a hammer-on, I believe. Sometimes on the way back down, I catch it with an upstroke and then a downstroke. Definitely a couple of ways to make it work.
@@QuinnParsley ok thanks.. gonna try it

Shoulder you mind to play it's note one by one and or slow thank somuch

How to human abstract

What fingers are you using to fret the D/#F shape?

nice, can you publish the guitar pro file?
I 2nd the question for a guitar pro
I've added an interactive tab of this to my Soundslice profile, which IMHO is even better than Guitar Pro. Hope that's useful!
@@adrianholovaty thank you!
how did you design this chord progression?
Been a while since I wrote it, but I think I was mostly thinking of a combo of voice leading and what is “functionally correct” in classical music. bro thankyou so much excellent playing ala uli roth!@@QuinnParsley
That was nasty 💋
the real stars in this video are the ones asking for the tabs like man they're on the screen all along...
Right? Bunch of stillborns... You 'f' tards need to stfu and practice... Greedy cunts
therein lies the humour
Trouble with arpeggios is you hear one you've heard them all
Thank goodness I've heard two, thus haven't heard them all.
You're only about 40 years behind the times.
Foo’, I play classical guitar too. I’m 300 years behind the times.
"Neoclassical" not really =)
