I see a lot of comments on the difficulty of these pieces. These are intermediate electric guitar solo's, but that doesn't mean that every intermediate guitar player can play them. I consider myself a professional player, but a lot of these solo's I don't master (yet), but that is because until now I have mostly focused on classical guitar, folk, fingerstyle and pop/singersongwriter stuff. It's hard to obtain an advanced level in every style. Guitar is so versatile, but that is also what makes it so great and gives you a lifetime of opportunities to learn and explore!
it depends on how your rating g them. Intermediate maybe as far as understanding how they are put together and the scales--but most of these require a great deal of feel that I wouldn't see most "intermediate players having
I see myself as an intermediate rock player and I think I could learn most of the solos if I gave them enough time. A lot of classical stuff that you might play would probably be much harder for me. I used to play folk fingerstyle but that was long time ago so I struggle with songs I use to play with ease.
@@stf259 I agree. I've been playing about 4 years now, started using a pick about a year and a half ago and i consider myself at the beginning stages of intermediate. I could play most of these songs but and i understand a lot of how they're put together, but just saying I could play it doesn't mean it's going to sound even close to how it should. I noticed several parts that while I could play the notes at the right speed, I don't quite have the control and sustain of every note yet.
Ive been playing guitar for 16 years. Thank you very much to the author for this video, without it I would have continued to play from time to time, remaining at the same level, but a couple of days ago I came across it and immediately decided: “I’m taking a week off and during this week I’ll learn all 20 solo from this list." Three are already ready)))
Wow 😮 that was quite amazing. Intermediate level? 🤔 Some parts yes, other parts no (for me, at least) but it’s always good to have something to strive for, to push you along a bit further on your guitar journey, so thank you for that 🙏🏻
Spin Doctors is a great addition. Thats some tasty playing for the time period when Grunge was out. He plays through the changes nicely with all those oblique bends. Great job!
As a big fan of Mike Oldfield's Crisis and Discovery albums ever since they came out, thank you very much for the lead riff for "Moonlight Shadow!" Hope to see more from you on Mike Oldfield in the future.
Sensacional repertório de fato! Estou usando isto como curadoria de clássicos de Rock para meus estudos! Obrigado! Great stuff here! Saudações de um Brasileiro residente em Portugal! :D
Great video, many great solos in one place with tabs. Subbed and saved to work on them later. As stated by many, intermediate is really subjective. Sometimes a small piece of so called beginner solo can be painful because of odd timing and out of tune bendings. Overally, because of rather slow tempos I call most of these intermediate but for me it is all about playing those bends in tune. Even if you can play absurdly fast and call yourself advanced, a tiny bending mistake can ruin everything you play.
These are great! I just got my guitar out recently after a too long break and am getting pretty good at the Iron Man solo again. These look like they will be fun to learn and are all in one convenient place. Thanks.
Crazy Train is a good gateway to "fast" solos, or solos with fast parts. They sound pretty intimidating but an easier one like Crazy Train helps build confidence
The most of them are truly intermediate, and some are in a level that is right before the intermediate level. Great choices, great video, congrats bud!
Can we get another of these? Love this so much! Maybe an Intermediate 80’s Classic Rock and Hard Rock video (Guns ‘N Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, etc) Thanks!
Bo Rhap is definately one of the deceptively toughest ones in this video, you thinks easy until you realise the timing of it and some really awkward runs you have to do which you dont always encounter and its actually really easy to misplace a note or miss-hit. But its so much fun to play
I'm gonna have to disagree with this one.. I've played most of the solo and IMO final countdown solo is the hardest here with crazy train and sultan of swings being in the 2nd place
Just relearned Hotel California & Smoke on the Water solos after not playing them for years, right before I watched your video. Kudos in the playing, I don't play as clean as you after 2 back surgeries and 13 pieces of titanium in my spine (slight nerve damage in my fret hand) and being over 60. But I do still play them & they sound good enough. 👍
You are awesome! Thank you for putting out all that nice content. It will really help me progress further, while having fun. Tu es génial! Merci de publier tout ce magnifique contenu. Ça va vraiment m'aider à progresser, tout en m'amusant.
Crossroads is one of those songs that makes me want to keep studying guitar, thank you for the list. Astronomy's solo by Blue Oyster Cult is another great choice to add to the list.
I think you need to use 3 fingers on the left hand to beef up the strength on your bend. You are usually using the middle finger, with the help of the 1st finger, and maybe you do that because you fingers are so long, and you just need the space, and don't want to get all tangled up. But the bends are not as stable as they should be or could be. If you could use 3 fingers and still not get tangled up with those big hands, you could gain strength and stability, and then that will give you a platform to be more expressive. Also, try to leave the last note very quickly, like explode off that note to move quickly to the next position on the neck, and arrive early, and restabilize your hand, and get your hand into the perfect position, and then push up with 3 fingers on the bend. Those are my 2 secrets, but I am left handed playing right handed, so I have all the advantage, but I am not as big as you, so I need all that advantage. Those are my secret tricks. Leave early, arrive early, restabilize, get into the perfect hand position to do the bend before you have to do it, so when you do make the bend, it will be as perfect as possible. You make your money in between the last note of the last position, and the first note of the next position. ...that is, during the travel time, when your move your hand. You have to explicitly explode off that last note, and fly to the next note as fast as you can, then stop cold, restabilize, get your hand in perfect position, and then do the bend. It is like 4 things you have to do before you make the bend, but if you do them, you will have better bends every time. Even being left handed, playing right handed, the most important thing to me is that I am ready to do the bend. I need to be in the right place to do that.
What a fantastic channel you have, sir!!! I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. Well, I'm certainly glad I came across it!! I subscribed and liked!! Thank you for sharing your time and talents!
