This really has been a Guitar settling moment in my 1.5 years of playing.
I am glad I can continue to think about what I am doing logically and my fingers can keep up with this concept.
    Let the Melodic Phrases Begin
    Thank You 😅

I’ve been watching a couple of your videos , what I like is that your are not just the common guitar teacher but the once frustrated guitarist that was able to understand the language of music and teaching it from that perspective, I first started in 99 so am that frustrated guitarist 😅 all skills but 0 musicality 😭 I have been learning music theory and getting to understand the language of music and it’s a night and day difference now, sadly am not that teenager with lots of free time but videos like this help us a lot, thanks

Fantastic clarity in this lesson, Eddy. Beautiful guitar tone. Will you say how you set up this sound. I just love it. Thanks.

This was the best explanation and description of chord tone soloing that I've seen on YT so far. A lot of other channels tell you to play the 1,3,5,b7 etc, then they play melodically and don't show that you mix the other notes of the scale that you're using with the chord tones. Very good instructions.

Excellent teacher, making solos sing instead of just notes within a scale

If I'd had this explained to me 5 years ago by my (then) Guitar Teacher, I'd be a far better player today. Brilliant lesson. Explained perfectly. Thank you!

GMM has jumped my playing abilities enough that I finally pulled the trigger and bought a les paul to replace the one stolen back in 76. Ì finally think I can progress to lead from rhythm. It's all due to the great lessons like this one. Thank you Eddie!

Wow! Huge lightbulb just exploded! As you were going through this lesson, I could hear in my head the notes I would play. I’ve always shied away from modes cause they seemed so daunting. Not now. Correct me if I’m wrong but, I hear a real Gary Moore influence here. Parisian Walkways or Still got the blues for you? I’m so going to practice this now. Aeolian is killer. Outstanding lesson and presentation Eddie! BTW, I’m a VIP member.

Great Video. - Target notes etc is always something I struggle with on the fly ( hence revert to scales etc)

Love your content dude! As a piano player who’s usually only played rhythm guitar I rarely tackled lead because I simply couldn’t wrap my head around the visualization of the notes on the neck. I finally mustered up the courage to develop this skill. In the beginning I mostly stuck with the pentatonic scale by adding some passing chromatic notes for flavour. I recently worked in some of the natural minor scale which opened up my phrasing to some cool Jimmy Page themes. Combining this with some rhythmic elements has helped me sound better. Totally agree that playing over the chord changes makes one sound mature and experienced. I just have to find the right melodic balance. Thanks for the tips!

It is good seeing a fellow guitarist who can appreciate the wisdom of both music and faith. Even though this stuff is something I have known for a while, I decided to give you a thumbs up for your bold and very clear expression of faith! Rock on and God Bless!

Great lesson, well explained. I'm already signed up for GMM, but I hadn't found this video yet.
Hey, I 've got a couple of questions though... NOT related to the lesson. Is that cool looking slim waisted instrument hanging on the wall behind you a Tenor Guitar? Or a Parlour Guitar ? What make is it?

Thank you! It's a 1953 Sylvia parlor guitar. I believe it was a student guitar back then. It has been modified with a rubber bridge and has a muted, thumpy sound that I like.

Eddie, you certainly get my attention on each of your videos. You're one of the finest player/instructors I have encountered on the net. But, I was wondering about the medal you wear on your necklace. Is this a religious medal?
