    Great video! Thanks! Question: I have been playing my 981 DCI's for about 20 years. Mid handicapper. I recently was fit for the T300's. I like to be able to put a draw occasionally if needed. Will the T300's be much harder to do this or should I consider the T200's? (We were going back and forth between the two). Are the 300s similar to the 981's?

    Awesome information. I am in the market for a new set of custom fit clubs and the Titleist 300 and 200 are on my short list. Curious if you can explain why the T300 at a stronger loft had a higher launch angle than the weaker T200. Thanks again for all of your great videos.

      @@mobuvat It really does depend on they type of golfer you are, or even maybe a mixed set.
      I am/was a +2.8 HDCP and was looking at a new set because my other set was stolen (912MBs) and really wanted those beautiful black t100S irons. I went to try them out and for me, there was gapping problem between my gap wedge and pitching wedge with the 100S. also, my club speed, with a 7 iron was faster with the 100 than the 100S due to shaft weights etc.
      It reallllly depends on what type of golfer you are. if you are looking for precision, get the 100, if forgivness is your issue, !00S, even 200.

    I have always liked Titleist irons but never actually owned a set. That T100-s looks mighty fine to me. What i liked about the numbers are that launch angle, dynamic launch, spin rates all followed exactly what you would expect based on static lofts of the clubs and what you achieved with the 620CB (which at 35 degrees is a traditional loft). Absolutely no surprises, that is what you get from Titleist.

    Excellent comparison... Reason why I’ll be coming to you guys next spring for a custom fit. Thomas you hit the nail on the head.. You fit the player according to his club head speed, ball speed and height with respect to landing angle. Early in 2019 i got custom fit at Club Champion NJ and they screwed up. They fit me for Callaway Apex Pro Forged ‘19 irons. My 7 iron stats. Club Speed: 80 mph, Ball Speed: 108.5 mph, smash 1.36, Launch 18.0 deg, SPin: 4,465, Carry 155.3, Total: 167.8 Height: 75 ft. Attack Angle: -5.0. 12 yds (36 ft.) of runout ! These stats didn’t contain Landing angle, but clearly 36 ft. Of runout will not hold any green and must’ve been less than 45 deg.
    These #’s are with Trackman inside which i heard isn’t very good, Trackman works better outdoors. I wound up selling those irons.
    I don’t have any irons now ( I haven’t played golf since Sept 2019 due to Shoulder surgery in Dec 2019 and getting infected with COVID-19 in April/May 2020). I Want to get my swing back and speed up before i come in for a custom fit.
    Handicap is 2.4 mostly due to strong short game especially putting. Iron striking consistency on 5 & 6 irons could need some forgiveness
    Potential Irons: Ping i210, Titleist T-100 or TM P7 MC or TM P770/P790 combo set
    Based on my stats what iron would best fit me ? Obviously getting custom fit will narrow down these choices to either 1 or 2 choices, but would be interested in hearing your thoughts

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for your feedback, Stephen! Sorry to hear your last fitting didn't work out. All of those numbers you have mentioned are just the beginning of the important factors to consider in a fitting. Based on what you said about your longer irons needing more forgiveness, a combo set is probably a good idea if you're okay with the different visuals at address. P790 and P770 is a good one. Titleist T200 and T100 would be another. Possible PING i500 and i210 as well. Of course, it will be important with a combo set to gap correctly and adjust the lofts accordingly.

    • @stephendibari5010
      @stephendibari5010 3 года назад

      @@2ndswing those 3 combo sets are awesome suggestions ! Yes definitely will suggest for my fitting. TM’s webpage has a great Conversion for their iron combination sets. I believe it’s four levels of forgiveness where they tell you which irons to either weaken or strengthen. So that’s already laid out. If I decide to go with TM it’ll will be an easy combo set to make up. If I go Ping or Titleist I’ll work with one of your fitters and change lofts and gap accordingly ! Thanks so much !! Looking forward to my custom fitting next spring !

    Question, instead of swinging at the same speed, why not swing with the same force, since some clubs due change the club speed thus keep things even?
    Also, why not go down 300, 200...cb?

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching. Good questions. Most viewers would prefer to have data that shows the difference between each model by taking the variable of club speed out. As I mentioned with T400 I tried to swing the same but that head type made a big difference so I kept my same force for that model, I just couldn't slow it down.

    Apologies if this question was answered before. Thomas refers to players who struggle to compress the ball being better suited to game improvement/super game improvement models. Is there a clear way to determine whether or not a player is compressing the ball well consistently?

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 года назад

      Dynamic loft is what you need to pay attention to. Thomas really compresses the ball with dynamic loft around the low 20s players don't compress the ball as well the dynamic loft can be high 20s- low 30s with a 7 iron.

    Some sweeping statements based on a test sample of 5 shots! How do you know for sure your mishit with the T100 was the same as the CB? You didn't have clubface data so you can't really say that the T100 was more forgiving as you don't sompare the quality of the mishits.

    Thanks for the great video. Beautiful swing. But let's make sure I understand this. Titleist puts a 7 iron shaft on a 6 iron loft and voila! they sell more irons because everybody is using launch monitors to sell their clubs. "WOW! I hit the Titleist 10 yards further". Now he can't hit the set's 4 iron, and doesn't know it's actually a 3 iron that he gave up on years ago. Been playing for 57 years, and never saw anybody buy his game from $1300 clubs that the Marketing Dept forced the engineers to design. Mostly out of the game for 10 years. Retired and come back full time to find the golf industry in a real ugly desperation. Selling this kind of baloney is going to hurt the customer and the industry in the long run.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching and for commenting! Manufacturers have adjusted iron lofts pretty strongly recently in an effort to provide more distance that golfers are looking for. In most cases, they're able to get away with it because of the work they do to lower the center of gravity and improve launch. With that said, it's more important than ever to keep an eye on landing angle and height to identify at what point in the bag should golfers put a hybrid in to maintain gapping as iron lofts get stronger and long irons get more difficult to launch into the air.

  • @gregorystevens5173
