I tested this iron on Trackman against the G425, ZX5, Apex DCB and the T300 was easily the best in every category. I bought them and absolutely love them, they’re long, extremely forgiving, great feel and sound and my GIR stat has improved significantly. What else could you ask for? I’ve been playing golf for 47 years and I honestly believe this is the best iron set I’ve ever played.
I tested these clubs and even with my much slower swing speed, they were easy to launch and noticeably consistent with the front to back dispersion. I think that is a key factor. They are way better than the last T300 model in looks and feel too. The T200 is the heart choice, but the head wins easily with the extra distance on offer too for its target audience.
The T-300 are exceptional. I was using the Calloway Apex irons. The 300's are super easy to hit straight, with a draw, with a fade and long. They are also very comfortable to use in all sorts of turf. Well done.
The T300 for me best iron out there long, forgiving, nice feel and great looks and a quality finish. I’ve tried most of the current irons and these were way in front with the Cobra Radspeed as my runner up.
I have a set of these for 2 months now and am really seeing the benefits - they are honestly the best irons I have ever owned (and I came out of JPX921s to these), with the with the Nippon shafts they are like throwing darts.
A great review and This is why it’s important to try for yourself. Matty on the TXG channel didn’t struggle for distance on these at all. They performed impeccably. However your swing and his differ massively. The key here is this is your experience. It all depends on what you want. There is such an obsession on distance where brands now sell a 5-gw (or 6-gw2) as the Same lofts as 10-20 years ago 4-pw. I am over this loft increased hype craze where irons tested are getting lower and lower spin. I need more spin and so my next set will be focused on actual lofts/spin.
After viewing the previous top 5 video, I tested the DCB and fell in love with it. However the wait is too long. I went to test the T300 at Golf Galaxy today after viewing this follow up video and bought the T200 instead. The face size of the T300 7 iron seem too large that it is difficult to work the ball without losing much distance. Thanks for making the 2 videos. Keep up the good work!
The usual good, honest review from AG. Interesting numbers and would love to see you test T300, DCB and 921HM together on the same day. My 7i clubspeed is typically around 77, so a bit lower than yours. I tested DCB, G425, 921HM and SIM2max all together on the same day a few months ago and 921HM had the longest carry. I tested T200 and T300 together at a Titleist fitting demo a few weeks ago and T300 beat everything for carry distance. I really wanted T200 but I have to accept that my ball striking as 11 hcap is better suited to T300 at the moment. I plan to retest T300, DCB and 921HM together and also try P790 before I break out the credit card to replace my ancient x16s.
Haha brilliant reading your comment mate the 3 different irons am interested in trying are the ones you have put haha, cannot wait to have ago and see what's best for me👊🏻
It was between the M4 and T400 today for me at Dicks.. went with the t400. I was averaging 168 with bad shots with the 7 iron and 180 carry with pure shots... over 200 yards total! Choking down one inch on the club, I consistently hit 172+ with an 80% swing. Like no real miss hits. After 15 plus balls in a row like that I was hooked. I’m trying to shave strokes, not look like a pro. I plan to break 80 this year. The t400 just swing so good. You can feel the weight and feel the swing plane so good.
I liked your list for adding the Wilson to the top 5. And…. I liked Mr. Robinson’s list too. I think it is awesome that you read and listened to the prior comments, and performed this review. With the higher lofts, very uncommon with GI irons, and the consistently higher peak heights, the T300 seems to offer something different; but still welcomed for us mid to high hc players. Maybe in the end, straighter, more consistent ball flights? In any case, thank you very much! ⛳️
Great swing and as always another great and honest review...Now if you were to buy only one set of players game improvement irons...after all the testing you have done, what would your choose be???? From your reviews, I know what my choose would be...and I am going to get myself a set soon....Thanks....
They wouldn't be my choice and I'm Titleist right through the bag!! Despite being particularly Average at present, I'd be looking at T100S/T200 (possibly as a combo) to replace my AP2/3 combo if I were in the market to refresh.
No i would not change your first five pick. I think you had it right. I will also add I never have cared for Titleist products as a whole. I know just me but you had five great choices in the beginning.
The score card cannot see whether the irons that lead to the better score are aesthetically pleasing. Nor does sound characteristics reduce the score. What does improve the score is a iron that launches easily, spins with small standard deviation , carry distance is consistent ( who cares which iron is longer?) and an iron that is forgiving of of centre strikes. Once a player knows carry distances for his irons, they can select the right iron for the shot distance required, then their scored start dropping. Distance irons with large standard deviations in carry distance do not help reduce the score. You need to test the new Cleveland Launcher XL Halo irons to see if you agree with the TXG channel claim that they are the easiest irons that they have ever hit.
Perfectly stated. The Cleveland Launcher XL Halo/HB Turbo is much more forgiving than any of those "top 5" forgiving irons tested. Most reviewers don't test them and people won't play them solely on looks and preconceived notions about what they should play based on their handicap. Most golfers, even upper single digit handicappers, would probably do much better with a GI iron from the "top 5" AG tested. Golf is hard. Why not make it as easy a possible.
Love the Cleveland Launcher Halo irons. Regripped a set at work (club builder). Between the T300 which I'm buying a used set 4-GW in a week or 2. I want to use the T300 to play alternately with my 1990 Ping Eye 2 BECU plus no plus 2-SW set, which is my forever set. Great job Titleist and Cleveland with those amazing Launchers. I wish I had a set of those too! Cheers
Titleist T200 for me. I know they cost, but, the quality means they will last me for years. Never been a regular changer of irons. Second choice would be Ping i500.
I’m sure your testing took account of cooler temperatures, I’m at Foregolf a bit 😉 and I’m noticing differences on distance depending on the weather. Club sounds good!
Good honest review mate it sounded good looked fair but with a game improvement iron you would expect a bit more distance what was the loft bud great video as always mate 👍
Very different results. T300 gave me more distance and forgiveness than the jpx or 425 I choose them over all the ones you tested outside of the dcb due to cost.
I would have to question his analysis skills ready the T300 are the best clubs in its category on the market. My GIR has increased 25% they are like hitting butter of a dish. If you reading this do yourself and your game and get these clubs.
Sorry mate but this test was rubbish. (Not a Titleist player before.) No bias whatsoever beforehand... Now however I have to admit that the club plays in a different league. Whatever changed my mind?! Well, I found myself in a new situation this year. (Getting older and had injuries and so on.) Struggling to get distance and decided (by accidence really) to try the T300 after trying literally every other club. (Didn't like Titleist for some reason.) . Do I need to explain that I had really low expectations?! I tried it and I went into shock. The feeling was way better than any other club/brand and the distance, my god. The 7 iron when around 165 meters (180 yards?!) That's around 20-25 meters longer than my usual best ones, and probably 40 meters longer than the alarmingly short ones I have seen this year. What the heck was going on?! I have no idea why you hit that club shorter. (A bad day?!) To me, it was a true monster. One other major difference to other brand clubs in this category is the workability. This club can move the ball according to your demand. Most other brands just go high and straight. You really need to test this one more carefully and make a new review. We seem to have similar swing speeds and you lose so much distance it's unbelievable. (Granted I didn't have a Trackman this time but judging from other times with Trackman hitting other clubs I'm reasonably sure my number is close to yours.) It might be something with the club that makes me swing faster, I really don't know. The distance however is accurate. (No wind at all and every single 7-iron land past 160 meters.) The accuracy by the way is another thing that really blows my mind. Ball after ball within a yard or two every single shot. If anybody contemplating buying new clubs they really need to have this one in the mix. I'm sure most of you going to take it home when you are done.
I think the spin rate is probably too high for this iron. It launches really high and doesn't need that much spin on a 7 iron. I got fitted for these and could compare them to the old t200's using the same shafts. My spin numbers were lower or the same (around 5400), but my distances were way up, as was the height. Obviously, forgiveness was also considerably better that the T200. Long story short. These are really high launching irons, and these shafts are probably wrong for them. You got too much spin.
Totally agree with your assessment. I got fit for the old version in April and hit a 7 iron about 88mph and was getting 180 yds carry with standard shaft (low 5000 spin). My order finally came in the other day and the new irons seem to carry about the same.
Watch the TGW review. The tester has only 2 mph more of swing speed and is carrying 18 yards more with 2000 less spin. No way you should be getting 7000 spin in what is effectively a traditional 5 iron loft. ruclips.net/video/Rnoiyc0FPcs/видео.html
Interesting numbers, Andy. During the first lockdown, I ordered a set of the last generation of T300s by way of an experiment to compare them to the T100s I usually play once the world reopened. The T300s were going at least 1 club further than my T100s and I found it hard to control their distance. Titleist has clearly revisited the recipe on these.
I got fit into T100 S recently. Hit the T300's as well and they were easily 1 club longer with good spin. I think with the right fitting there you would see that swing speed and distance jump a little more.
Love your channel. Just found you cause I'm looking to go to a more game improvement iron from my T100 set. I do not play enough anymore to work a players iron but I like the Titleist feel. I'm assuming these have a similiarish (not a word) feel to the T100s?
I recently went for an iron set fitting and i am faced with a big dilemma between the p790s and t300s the numbers came out identical but the spin rate was a tad higher with the p790s. Any help/advise on which ones to go for would be much appreciated 👌
At this point with all things being equal its which one do u look looking at. For me the T300 was hands down the best and it doesn't hurt it has the best name and brand on golf.
I will give them another try next year but for now, after only three rounds, I’ve bagged them. The main reason is the noise level, especially if you wear hearing aids, like I do, even chipping is painful in my ears. 🤷🏻
why do people worry about how a club looks at address??? the main thing is does it give you a good hight and good distance and help you play good golf....do you want a club that you like but you dont get good results with or a club that looks like the ugly duck but you get great results with....
You should have swung the DCB in this review to compare the numbers you initially got with it against the T300 numbers....to see how much that doing the initial test on a completely different day affected the results. You could have only been swinging 90% effort on this day compared to the way you were swinging the club for the first test day. So not an apples to apples comparison. But still a good video none the less. In my mind the T300 & the DCB are the 2 best “game improvers” on the market.
It depends what shaft you put in and how you swing it. It might work better for some and not others. I don’t think Titleist see themselves as a game improvement company. They make the “ best “ tour balls but there mass market ones are a bit of an afterthought. Same with the Irons, T300 sitting alone a bit in their stable. Maybe it’s between a players and game improvement. If it’s not particularly long then it needs more club head speed and accuracy which players have.
Maybe try a different shaft that titlest recommend with this iron to bring your extremely high ball flight down to normal and then you’ll gain the distance your looking for and still have the stopping power.
I think you may have addressed this in another video, but it looks like your compression isn't as strong as it should be. Launch angle is too high and so is spin.
These are a distance iron , just don't think you have the swing to properly appreciate them , at 70 mph , the average distance is from 120 to 140 yds , so dunno where you are coming from
***** Main Point at end****** Great review! (as always) I really enjoy your straight forward & too the point videos. ……… My $0.02 would be that, when it really comes down to it in the end, we are splitting hairs and calling them straws. A true level testing field does not and can not exist between these big companies. That would allow for a definitive winner take all type of answer to who’s product is the best. But… they really just want their percentage share of consumers who think they are the best. They want the competition, it’s healthy. When it comes to doing top fives and tens there are just too many variables to change the overall results. ie. wind, temp. Barometric pressure. Operator error, fatigue, roll out, shirt too tight, bird chirp, need to skip to the lou, etc etc.. ****************************** The ball, the iron, fairway, tee, nor the green have any clue what # iron you are hitting. I took my range finder, clubs, and a note pad to the range. I took full swings and smooth (75%) swings. I learnt my distances. I even took a sharpie and wrote the yardages on the back of the irons. I played practice rounds to dial in shots rather then golfing. So now that I know my clubs so well why would I want to trade them in ? Well I thought I wanted more of a blade look. But when I weighed out the pros and cons the Game improvement or more forgiving irons make WAAAAAY more sense. Why make it harder on myself? …play way less rewarding golf and pay money to get pissed off !!! No thanks ! I’m refacing and touching up the grooves, new grips and they’ll be BETTER than new. These club marketing wanks have made us all believe that there is a magical scientific formula to hitting perfect shots and if you’re not hitting them perfect then you need to upgrade to this years new clubs. (And at a very steep premium might I add. Frankly, prices have gotten so far out of hand that we all need to make them realize that we know drivers are good for hundreds of rounds of golf. I’m still playing my 2007 King Cobra LD and it still out drives the Epics and Sim Max2 all day. I just remembered about eight more things but I’m going to spare anyone who has bothered to read this far. I hope some of what I said translates in some ol familiar way. And just like everyone else, I’d really frigging love to have a new set of irons but I’m a Leftie and there’s not that many options available under $1200 that I think might get me from a 10 to a 6 hcp …. In fact my handicap will probably go up from having to learn to hit a new set of clubs. Cheers… love the channel. Please hit the 👍🏻 if you made it this whole way ! Lol 😂
I tested this iron on Trackman against the G425, ZX5, Apex DCB and the T300 was easily the best in every category. These clubs got me from 24 handicap to 7 in 1.5 years, love them
Picked up a set of T300 a year ago playing the best golf of my life
I tested these against the G425 and Sim 2 Max when I was fitted, ended up with these and I have not regretted it at all. Really solid clubs.
I think Titleist have got it spot on, a game improvement iron with consistency.

I purchased a T300- 4 Iron as a driving iron.
It is a Rocket Launcher. Beautiful club!!!!
I have a set of these for 2 months now and am really seeing the benefits - they are honestly the best irons I have ever owned (and I came out of JPX921s to these), with the with the Nippon shafts they are like throwing darts.
I have played Titleist forged 755s for over a decade now, I tried the 300 and was very impressed. 🤪🇺🇲

Thanks for testing the T300’s
After long research of stealth iron prior to fitting, i finally bagged set of T300 after fitting. Best decision ive ever made!
Great update on last weeks video. Maybe you can do an ongoing series and test new clubs as they are released and update your top 5 accordingly?
Great swing and as always another great and honest review...Now if you were to buy only one set of players game improvement irons...after all the testing you have done, what would your choose be???? I’m sure your testing took account of cooler temperatures, I’m at Foregolf a bit 😉 and I’m noticing differences on distance depending on the weather. Club sounds good!
Would a Shaft with a slightly higher kick point or slightly stiffer give you a little lower trajectory and the distance you were looking g for?
Good honest review mate it sounded good looked fair but with a game improvement iron you would expect a bit more distance what was the loft bud great video as always mate 👍
I have owned these irons for 6 months and dropped 5 shots from my handicap
Only review that give positive review
They put at number 1
Interesting 🤔
Very different results. T300 gave me more distance and forgiveness than the jpx or 425 I choose them over all the ones you tested outside of the dcb due to cost.
I believe it was Ben Hogan (could be very wrong) that said equipment is only 10% of a golfer's game.

Love my t300s my iron game has drastically improved
It would be good to put these clubs up against winners of most forgiving irons from the past 👍🏻
Callaway dcb still the number one for me Andy

Keep the honest no BS reviews! Top guy
I think you may have addressed this in another video, but it looks like your compression isn't as strong as it should be. Launch angle is too high and so is spin.
It all comes down to preference and price point. Can I purchase a set of irons that benefit's my game and does not break the bank in the process.
I found with the black Amt shaft i could hit my 7 iron the farthest out of every club i ever hit
Was it good enough to knock the D9 out of the top 5 ?
I think you may have seen better distance numbers with proper shaft.
These are a distance iron , just don't think you have the swing to properly appreciate them , at 70 mph , the average distance is from 120 to 140 yds , so dunno where you are coming from
Are you Jimeoin's Brother??

great review
***** Main Point at end******
Great review! ******************************
The ball, the iron, fairway, tee, nor the green have any clue what # iron you are hitting.
Lol 😂
fail. they look like the old callaway big bertha irons, just smaller.
A bit to bulky!!!👍👍👍
Negative
Ummm…. Andy, the Ping G425 was 5th - not Wilson D9. The Wilson’s were actually 4th buddy! 🤭😂
