Thanks, Chris! I've been battling a back injury for several years now and I don't have the rotation/speed I used to, or the stamina to hit buckets of balls repeatedly. I've become a mostly arms player to protect my back and my ball striking has suffered. But, the last couple seasons I've focused all of my very short practice sessions at home and the range on the proper impact position (5-10 mins a time or two a day). I used to hit a penetrating draw into my 20's, but becoming a limited rotation player with poor impact has resulted in a spinny fade. However, such impact drills have enabled me to hit a driving draw again, and when I do miss, it's a cut that doesn't overspin. I do believe this year I can make it back to scratch, and my only swing thought/focus, is impact. Thanks for emphasizing the most important millisecond of the golf swing, impact ~ Peace ~

Chris, the best drill you have shown me is making good contact with the ball. It is not looking at the back of the ball, but for instance, and I looked a couple inches in front of the ball. For a driver look behind the ball up because we are swinging up. Thanks so much I make better contact now and it’s all about confidence for me.

I just wanted to say that I was having a lot of problems with my swing. I was chunking the ground a lot, or topping the ball, with my irons and my 3 wood. After watching your videos, my game still needs a lot of work, but it has improved significantly by using the various points you talk about in your videos. Your videos have really improved my game. I not ready for the PGA, but I am enjoying my time on the course a lot more. I actually got an Eagle on a par 5 at my local golf course the last time I played. Thanks so much.

Awesome, Steve! Positions are important to producing a consistent golf swing, but the most important position is impact, period ~

Great tips again Chris, I wonder how many members at Forest of Arden wait for your videos to come out and then are in that bracken looking for your lost balls.

Will that 2nd drill work with a traditional impact bad, meaning one that doesn't have the solid front? I imagine it would.

You got any tips on how to unlearn lag or/and stop sliding into the ball ? Been playing for about 5 years, and i got tons of speed, but i hit down on the ball ALOT, but i dont think its because im to steep. Been on trackman several times, and i hit down 6-7 with pretty much everything expect driver. Thats maybe 3-4 ( still way to much i know ) With irons my low point is almost 20cm after the ball, so i pretty much punch everything, because of the way i swing
It has caused ALOT of headache with beeing close to quitting golf several times. I play of handicap 5. Would like to get lower, but seems impossibel with the way i swing. I got plenty of power to burn, but my swing seems way to timing based, because of my lag. So when im playing good, im playing REALLY good, but more often then not, if my timing is off, the misses can be really bad, and it happens more under pressure. Like if i have a good round going, and need to keep the last 2-3 holes, to lower my handicap, the big misses start to come
I did tape myself a while back, and my hands are almost at the ball, when shaft is still lagging WAY bebind, causing to me have to sorta of slide into the ball to hit it. Its pretty hard to explain and english is not my first language

Sounds physical and mental. Lag isn't the issue, at all. You're steep. Build width into your take away and maintain that width on the downswing while keeping your lag - smooth your tempo too, as you've got "power to burn." The finishing with big numbers is mental and physical. You're thinking about your score instead of focusing on playing one shot at a time to a specific target. That stress manifests in a faster/poorly timed swing in which you get extra steep, creating tons of spin, resulting in "big misses." If you're a 5 HC in a few years, it may be a good idea to see a professional instructor and fix your issues, instead of quitting the game...
