I use slice and dice all the time leveling my rogue, it's actually a really effective way to kill mobs bc you only need 1-2 combo pts for SnD to last for the entire duration of the fight. Don't just stick to one rotation, figure out what is most effective and engaging for you.
Little tip for new rogues... don’t spam sinister/eviscerate. If you garrote, 1 point rupture, 1 sinister, 1 point slice & dice then do your combo you will save a ton of time eating compared to the face tank noobs. In the long run it will speed up your lvling.
How come the 1% dodge isn’t acknowledged as useful for pve? You said “you’ll never be tanking so it doesn’t matter”, but doesn’t it mean less damage taken over time and so less downtime between mobs?
I always loved Night elf rogues for the looks and the racial passive. Of course they are not as broken as other, but still I always prefer the race above the better bonuses.
That clickbait thumbnail though, this pretty much taught nothing. Slice n dice is quite worth it at rank 2 lvl 42 btw. "Same rotation as lvl 1" I actually lol'd
This is what works for me and my brother. Dual swords, garrote from stealth and then Immediately hit sin strike then SnD. You can then build up points much faster. Kill faster because you’re hitting faster. And of course this is situational. If you’re caught out of stealth you obviously can’t use garrote. You may have to sap first or you may have to switch up your attacks depending on the situation but typically that is what we do.
Blood Fury the best racial if you want your healers to stop healing you and letting you die. Seriously roll the class you think look the best and if youre into min maxxing the haste bonus from Trolls will end up scaling better with gear.
Meh when you say the races in classic wow matter alot you should caveat that with "if you are trying for hardcore pve/pvp" If you are not trying to be a top tier world first guild in pve or a rank 14 in pvp than the race can essentially be looked at as purely cosmetic.
I'm a dagger rogue. Always have been, always will be. Not sure why lol but that's rogue to me. I am a stealth addict as I pick pocket as I'm sneaking around. As for SnD, I use it from my stealth opener. If it's a heavy armored mob, I expose armor. Works wonders.
My main interest is having fun doing PvP as a Rogue. Would be a Dwarf or an Orc more advantageous in terms of 1) racial trait 2) opponent and your faction's races 3) faction-specific classes?
I'd say Orc is better. His racial that gives stun resistant is so OP it got nerfed 3 times in later expansions. Also, shamans were imo more useful at PVP than pallys were in classic. The windfury buff is really cool and helps melee dps a lot
Rotation stays same from 1 - 60 ? Even in 1v1 i allways use SnD after level 42 - i like to open up with cheap shot in pve against 2 mobs too - stun neglects some damage and 2 combopoints allows you to instantly use snd with bladeflurry to melt 2 same level mobs in just barely over 10 seconds
NOT 25% CHANCE. Ohhh, this is vaulty. He doesn't ever know what hes taking about. its 25% increase from your current chance, so if 8, then 10. Don't watch this dudes videos
Rogue in classic WoW was popular because they were the least complex characters. Out of their whole move set they rotate about 3 of their moves with the added combination of combo attacks and having no mana or rage that they needed to gain in order to deal damage..
"least complicated" Hahaha haha. Sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. Rogue pvp is highly positional, takes very high activity, precise timing, use of dead zone and the full use of many more than "3" abilities. "no mana or rage" right, because they use energy, which has a fixed regeneration rate and must be tick timed and managed to be successful against good players. What a stupid remark. Easy to play (like any class) , but very high skill cap.
Rogue is not easy. You must keep weapon swings and its hard too gear up, hard too get slot in raid/dung. If you want easy take mage or warlock 1 spell rotation and realy usefull for team. I talk about PvE. And rogue its a nightmare too lvl up. Propably hardest too lvl or one of the worst. I know what im talking becouse i play rogue many many years. Night elf you are mistaken about, with power really.. Shadow Melt, if you make a macro, using shdaowmelt+stelath in it you have a plan b+ vanish that is for free.. All it takes is a lil away, so if pvp.. simeply a grogue, are you about to die in PvE or see a new stun is needed and no inteurpt ready, you can do the same and place a stun.. But with that said human is better.. but night elf is far from useless. :)
As far as i've heard weapon skill does have effect in pvp but both weapon skill and defence are calculated as if they were maxed out according to your level when attacking another player. At max level i don't know the exact calculations, but with the little i do know i can only assume that 5 extra weapon skill gives you (5 x 0.04%) of all the weapon skill advantages, and 0.2% extra is really not that big of a deal.
Shadowmeld can be clutch for a rogue when your sneaking around. Stealth has a cool down. So you can drop stealth for whatever reason and instantly disappear and wait the 5sec to restealth. When I'm low health and I'm being hunted in stealth in pvp you can eat/meld and get to full without a trace... Is it better than swords/human... All I can say is flip is bis lol

The only time the weapon racial abilities are useful is if you want to run Assassination. Which YOU WON'T. Almost all PVE and PVP Rogues will be combat until NAX.
