You forgot perhaps one of the best reasons: the “energy” mechanic. It is far superior to mana or rage because it doesn’t run out and it doesn’t rely partly on you being hit or doing damage. It just regenerates endlessly, which means your dps output will stay consistent forever. You’re basically the energizer bunny. And you are the only class that gets energy apart from druids in rogue form.

Old video but let me give you one reason NOT to play a Rogue right now in Classic Era = you will struggle too much to get into Dungeons and into a guild = often you will see (full on Rogues) so yea.... if you wanna compete with 10-11 rogues in a raid sure go for it :).
I played a boomkin for 10 years and now I play a rogue since last August. I can't believe I played the wrong class for so long. Rogue feels like the correct way to play hahaha
Thing is in Classic you need to grind mobs while doing quests to get enough XP to level up and move on. If you stealth past everything you aren't going to get enough XP.
this guys cool , thanks man , good vid. in my opinion alot of people play rogue wrong. keep in mind , your a rougue . a thief , an assa. act like one. your goal is NOT to get hit. fast and efficient murder. if your raiding , remember , you help the party when they need it but your on your own , take care of yourself 1st n fore. your stealth is your life blood . stealth should coincide with all attacks . its difficult to get out of noob vill with stealth but it should be priority. your not a tank . your the most effective scout in the party. so go ahead and scout ahead for the party. take notes for yourself. when im scouting and run into trouble i barley do anything but gouge evade sprint . let the paladins take out the trash. and for god sakes people , when mobing ,you should be pick pocketing more than doing damage. but make it look good. your party is watching. i know , i know maintenance buffs . . but if you learn to put them up but then extend them through spells , you can put on a show and slice n dice , assassinate your pockets full of loot , and still get in on the lions share . with very little danger to yourself

If WoW classic actually used the real 1.12.1 patch data, I would consider continuing to play. Unfortunately, there are multiple conflicts and the rogue doesnt even represent how it was in Vanilla. I am actually surprised I am one of the few Vanilla rogues who realize how the rogue is "off". Although more seem to be noticing this as well. As I started playing rogues roughly in Feb 2005. (Patch 1.2.x), i have leveled over 13 rogues from 0-60. As, this was primarily how i made extra spending money. From the longevity of my experience, conflicting variations in provided datamines (original is unobtainable) and data manipulation now occurring in real time. I do not believe the 1.12.x code originally used to recreate the WoW Classic we were introduced is genuine - or the native code used has been changed drastically by intentional or unintended intervention.
Alright for real, what was this? My top 5 would be: 1, you can literally eat your kills 2, stun lock 3, camping someone is primitively easy 4, no karma is catching up to you* 5, so. many. stuns. *if you have CDs up

Stuns are not CC. There are stuns, roots, interrupts and then there's CC. Oh, and there is this Lil thing called potion of lesser invisibility and so on. Started out good with the rogue professions, that is one thing about classic that I do miss. The class related side stuff. Oh, and it should have been called 'stun locking'. Classic just has so much more to the game. WoW player usually are not the people running around collecting Pokemons, but that's who the game got tailored to. Sad.

I love playing a rogue - I don't like that our dps loses out to warriors with higher gear /end game. But I know hunters have it worse.

Skailler depends on server and your faction for example bigglesworth has a lot of mages horde side not a lot of rogues
Actually there are more warriors, mages, priests and hunters than rogues
And the mobs for poison quest are scripted to be one shot if you ambush em btw ;)
