Really awesome dagger progression guide. This spelled out everything in perfect detail. I'm using it in hardcore right now to figure out what daggers to get. Thank you.
Daggers are great, but I see no dagger speedrun, and combat sword rogues made the best 1-60 solo Classic speedruns (Thiddi 3 days 6 hours played, and Tactics 3 days 14 hours ; troll ofc for the dps and regen), it's the best class and spec to speedrun after aoe mage.
I play almost nothing but rogues in Classic WoW, but I’m just not a sneak-up-and-stick-it-in-from-behind kind of guy. I like to be able to run in and go full ham if I need to and not have to worry as much about positioning right from the start. After watching this video, however, I went ahead a rolled a NE combat dagger rogue which I’ve been playing here and there. I’ll admit that it can be kind of fun when the mood strikes. That character is three bubbles away from dinging 60, so we’ll see how things go in MC, especially after getting the Nightslayer armor set, Perdition’s Blade, and Core Hound Tooth.
Love the vids, you converted me to daggers and it was the best decision ever made! Thank you for bringing me back to my roots. You've earned my sub my friend. Take care!
My duo and I were able to get claw for a couple g and windowmaker for 15 shortly after launch. Widowmaker was such an absurd power spike in the 40s we were able to cruise through everything, horde, quests, dungeons. I took a look at enchants since we expected these weapons to last a long time and I found out something interesting. Most high end enchants are 20+g with a few exceptions(fiery wep was ~16 and +4 dmg was ~12g). On our server you can get +3 dmg for ~1g(the mats were only 50s when we got widowmaker), which is basically nothing compared to the price tag on good weapons after 40.
I fought a Warrior the other day with this dagger and he was jumping around like a spider monkey so much and I think this is a bug, but it proc'd while he was in mid air and actually froze him in place (which never happens with mobs on the ground), so it gave me a nice opportunity to BS him a few times.
Hey Azamous, happy belated birthday and thanks for all your content. I don't normally leave comments on youtube, but i especially like your no-bullshit attitude so thanks for that and you keep doing you. Anyway, suggestion for some additional content: phase 2 BiS for pvp rogues. Didn't see any content (specifically for pvp) released by anyone yet. Maybe even how new BiS gear might affect talents, if at all. Thanks again and keep it up!
The guy who drops toxic revenger can be soloed eeeeasily, he's easier than the mobs around him. Just run right in and jump down on the cog, kill one trash right in front of the cog and wait for him there, kill him and go back up through the safezone. It's pretty good money for a really fast run too!
Actually the proper rule of thumb is that your weapon damage range > weapon speed. It's not something to worry about while at 60 since most weapons are itemized properly but when leveling if you had a slow dagger with an inferior weapon damage range than a fast dagger with a superior damage range you'd use the latter over the former. You do this because in WoW Classic weapon speed normalization has already happened and thus, the speed of your main hand doesn't matter as much as it did before that change went through. Otherwise a dagger like Barman Shanker would be just as good, if not better than Perdition's Blade.
@@DStrong. He means as in the damage numbers i.e. "6-10" etc. He's simply saying the mainhand weapon should be the one with the highest base damage numbers regardless of speed
I agree Dagger rogues we only go for Daggers and we should have MS for them, I have Cutegore Ripper and Corehound Dagger on my Rogue, Just hope for Pred Blade Dagger soon :D
Hey I got corehound tooth, bonescraper and shadowfoot stabber as well and demon blade of power. What do you think is the best combo ? Thanks for the guide bro.
Im going through wow for the first time and a officer that added me to the guild when i was in the spawn zone let me go through the mines with him to help me level and i got this dagger 5:35 when i was level 16. Im 22 now and almost 23 but cant use it until level 24. Didnt know i got this lucky sense we only ran it once. Also i didnt want to take it but no one else was using daggers and they gave it to me
Lol glad you mentioned hypnotic blade, thats what im using, no want needed it. Twice! But its only main hand =( felt kinda dumb using it even though the damage is good. Just sucks its so fast and cant be offhand. Id rather a slower mainhand for the big numbered abilities
Thanks for you help, but still can't decide, dwarf or night elf... weighing the pros and cons of getting openers as Night Elf, or breaking blinds with Stoneform. help!
Shadowblade sells for 30-40 G on my server, I had one but sold it before I switched to daggers (rn I got Shadowfoot Stabber and Distracting dagger, can't wait for PB and CHT :D). I also got Bonescrapper but since I have NS Belt, I can't really use it until I get Aged Core Gloves :/
Nice video man, got a question for you... You think is worth 4/5 in lethality and 2/3 imp snd? Over 3/5 lethality and 3/3 imp snd? Most builds I see don't have this change but since we don't use eviscerated often, 2/3 in snd should be fine to keep it all the time On. Thanks
how the hell were you dpsing with toxic revenger at ZF? The scarlet monastery quest gives a much better one on top of that there's a 30 dps dagger that drops from RFD with like 40 percent drop rate.
Hey man, I am 60 and want to switch to dagger spec mainly for pvp, is there a specific build you recommend where I can still do decent damage in raids and dungeons while being daggers?
People say 308, but for better understanding let's just say it's 310. Humans only have a racial with swords. It works with PvP aswell as far as I understand so if you have 310 weapon skill you may only need 3% hit instead of 5% hit. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.
got felstriker and lobotomizer right now was wondering which i should use in main hand and would i replace for preditions and core hound or go preditions and felstriker thanks :)
A rogue I used to play with went Felstriker / Core Hound but you can variate it how you like, e.g. get a Perdition's Blade and put Felstriker in OH. whatever you can get your hands on. just remember that Felstriker is one of the most OP daggers in the game, big congratz on getting it!
I managed to obtain 2 gutrippers from the AH. I am considering enchanting at least one for further lvling and open world PvP (subtlety spec). Which enchant would you recommend?
What are your thoughts on +4 weapon dmg on MH? I think it scales quite well with abilities, especially ambush. On transcendence EU it goes for around 17g, whereas crusader is around 50.
Im using the gutripper and julies dagger for now lvl 54, gonna go for barman shanker after i hit 55, thinking of going for lobotomizer after i hit 60, what do u guys think?

Leveled my rogue to 60 using only swords. This video kinda makes me wanna roll a new rogue just to experience the dagger leveling lol.

Coldrage from rfd does stack crippling. I used it for many levels. Awesome video. Thanks so much!

Great video. Thank you
Currently 41 with gutripper and fiery weapon, having so much fun on this alt! I almost log my hunter only for raids xd
I am jealous
Makes sense, hunters arent very good
Thx for this ! Just started classic Era as a Rogue 🎉
Our lord has spoketh!!
I’m levelling as combat swords for levelling but I’m so excited to respec daggers at 60
Aza sounds so different!
On Everlook now, real excited to level daggers after this!
I'm levelling my rogue following your guide and setting macro to switch to swords when i spam sinister strike after the opening
Could you do one for tbc, dagger progression? Cheers mate, good vid

5/5 Lethality always as it helps your backstabs, but you can always tailor it to your playstyle, you don't have to copy my specs
Woah! It happened :)
Is it logical to buy gutripper + shadowblade to use it till level 60? 47 atm and I already have gutripper
2 weeks late but yes
how the hell were you dpsing with toxic revenger at ZF? The scarlet monastery quest gives a much better one on top of that there's a 30 dps dagger that drops from RFD with like 40 percent drop rate.
The SM Dagger was in my OH due to the speed. Didn't get the RFD Dagger to drop after multiple runs.
I got both gutripper and shadowblade just need to hit 40 to start using 1 of them
im converted.
got The Shadowfoot Stabber for mainhand, which is better for offhand Frightalon or Fang of the Crystal Spider ?
Fucking liked!

Kimmo Leinonen I wonder why so cheap 🤔
