Check out this post from blizzard: classic.wowhead.com/news=292085/hit-cap-in-classic-wow-clarifications From this, I took that 305 weapon skill is 1% hit. edit: I have seen other posts saying that 305 weapons skill is 3% hit, I will have to test and report back.
Hey I like your videos and I have a question about listing them. I tag wow classic swords in mine but when I search I can never find the videos I upload. Whats the trick to being on the front page.
I just formed groups for UBRS with people who didnt want dal'rends. Like the third run I went into the main hand and off hand both dropped for me. Pretty quick and easy for me. I feel bad for others who don't got that godly luck. XD
I'm sure you all know that Ebon Mask won't be available for a while. But besides that, I would recommend choosing the Duskbat Drape instead. While yes, the mask has amazing stats and will give you a nice power boost, it will be replaced. Eventually you will just vendor it. The Drape on the other hand has a unique effect, it is the only item in the game that reduces fall damage. And it synchronises with the Rogue ability Safe Fall. Yes there's ways to get a slow fall effect, noggenfogger and engi items. But there is no other item that just reduces damage from falls. So the Cape will keep its utility forever, you can keep it in your bag to swap on when needed. Unlike the mask that will be vendor trash once you get Bloodfang from ony, and many of you may have that before the quest is even available.
If the Ebon mask was available in Phase 1, which it was listed at on Wowhead at the time of recording, I think I would still recommend getting the mask. However, because it's coming in Phase 5, I would agree that the drape is a cool item and worth getting. I updated the written guide and no longer recommend the mask for Phase 1.
Hey there, I was looking at worlds best logs and it shows many rogues not using evis during aoe, thoughts? Does the animation cancel out auto attacks? several logs showed almost 17 k dmg during blade flurry
Im at 9% hit atm, got Eye of Rend and Mask of the Unforgiven in this case hit is useless and i should use Eye of Rend as the raw stats are way better right?
Hit is not useless past 9%, it's just at 9% you're now cannot miss with your abilities like Sinister strike. Any additional hit will still help you land your melee attacks. However, hit is not as value after 9% because it's only contributing to your melee attacks. I would equip the eye of Rend, but definitely hold on to the Mask The Unforgiven in case you swap gear around and need hit.
Isn’t ebon mark in another phase? I have mask atm I just need truestrike shoulders dal rends HOJ and cav armour then done manages to get nightslayer boots the other day
classic wowhead has dal'rends mainhand listed as a 4% drop rate in 730 observed cases. and i know someone who has ran ubrs over 70 times and only had the off hand drop. honestly it seems like you're much better off farming the 250g for a krol blade than doing endless ubrs runs
Sword of Zeal is better than Krol and MH Dalrend (without set bonus). So unless you have both dalrends Zeal + Mirah are the best swords until you can get a raid weapon. It's also often cheaper than Krol, I got mine for 150g. Not worth farming out ubrs imo since the dalrends aren't that much better than these two and you'll have no problem getting into raids (and often topping the meters) with them.
PersonalityWorship yep I went that route got the zeal for 130g and using OH mirors song then went UBRS first run dalrends MH dropped lol now I’m trying to get the offhand but the zeal sword is insane procs often great choice as MH
Depends. Are you going swords or daggers? If you're swords then you want Crusader for MH and OH. Nothing else. If you're leveling and you have swords you're going to upgrade then save the gold. No point in spending a ton of gold on expensive mats for a sword you're going to upgrade in a few levels. For Daggers... I'm going to go with +5 damage to MH (as soon as I get perditions blade) and Crusader OH( which I currently have on my Core Hound Tooth). If I don't like it then I am going to switch to double crusader on both daggers.
I have Gutgore ripper and a crappy off-hand. I do have crusader on gutgore while the other one has fiery because it’s cheaper... I’m planning on sticking with daggers since I got gutgore.
It's after those guides you get people applying into the guild who think they need 3% hit from gear and don't have a single peace of shadowcraft , which outperforms full t1 for dagger spec. Raiding with a rogue before making a guide would help i guess.
The guide was created before launch, and I am planning on updating it soon. Difference between 1% and 3% hit is huge. That and the early release of Dire Maul make shadowcraft much better than anticipated.
@@Zatar Dynamic hit value isn't huge for anything past soft cap (which is 1%), the value of shadowcraft in bloodmoon spreadsheet didn't change in a while afaik and i am not sure how Dire Maul has anything to do with it. All of this was known as widely as classic rogue discord before launch (while mass market websites like wowhead are delusional to this day, so if you get your data there, well..)
If anyone could answer, please do. A lot of those daggers apply a debuff right? E.g. "Numbing Pain" from "Keris of Zul'Serak" or "Rend" from "Barman Shanker". Would these not be able to be used in raids as there are only a limited amount of debuff slots? Would I be better off buying say "Shadowblade" and "The Shadowfoot Stabber" from AH?
The proc is pretty terrible. In semi-hardcore and hardcore guilds they will probably ask you to unequip. I find myself taking it out for PVP as well. Going 30 seconds without being able to blind or gouge is brutal. It does hit hard though so I still use it for leveling in dungeons which at the moment is 95% of the time.
Hunters having priority on strikers mark? Wtf dude 😂 thats 100% a melee dps bow. The speed on it is crap for hunters and the ap is melee ap not ranged 👍
This was recorded prior to launch before we knew when rhok delar was going to be added to the game. Even then, I'm not sure if strikers mark would be better than some of the pre raid crossbows.
So much focus on pve . I use a quiver in pvp just so i can shoot a bit faster. Also i dont know if you play with combat parry but it really change how hunter vs rogue is done
Hunters have no business taking a Strikers Mark, being less than 3 seconds screws up their rotation. So realistically it should be going to a Rogue or Warrior. Rogue Prio since we get more from agility! :)
Tbh warrior prio cuz they need the hit way more, honestly I'd rather use the 14 agi gun, especially since the rogue discord has discovered now that hitcap is ONLY 6% for rogue.
Skullforge reaver is garbage. If you take it in a raid you'll use a debuff slot from the sword proc and most likely be told to switch out your weapons. Stick with thrash blade + Mirrahs Song until you get Dal Rends set.
wroooong this low hit raiting will only cap your yellow hits. But rogues main dmg comes from white hits, meaning you will need alot more hit from gear to max your dmg meters. dafuq - stacking crit is nonsense if you dont have the hit to back it up. You can outdps any fully geared rogue thats wearing 8% hit only. how? stack hit on gear 8-9% hit from gear is optimal meaning you will hit alot more of your White hits = more consistent dmg overall, and with this hit you can grab world buffs and still get full potential out of the crit you get from world buffs/bc of the hit you're wearing.. Good luck out there
Suggestion, you should really add background music to help make the videos more appealing. Your mic has some sort of static, and it would be less noticeable if you had background music
Thanks for the feedback I just started making videos so I really appreciate the advice. I will try to see if I can reduce the static. If i can reduce/eliminate the static would you still prefer music regardless?
Sorry man, had to downvote... far too many mistakes in this video. Hit rating (6%, not 8%), head piece (Unforgiven is BiS), which mob drops what (angerforge), etc... To explain, hit is still worth about 20 AP after your cap. Total stat weight for Unforgiven far exceeds Ebon.
Here is blizzard confirming 9% hit, 8% with 305 skill www.wowhead.com/news=292085/hit-cap-in-classic-wow-clarifications Unforgiven is not bis if you value hit at 15 ap instead of 20, which I do, but we probably each have different sources on how we value hit. Either way it is neck and neck with the other options. Sorry about the error on hand of justice. Many players thought it dropped from emp, but apparently, that was because private servers had it wrong.
This confirms 9% without weapon skill. I believe another source confirms 6% WITH skill. I'll see if I can find it. What source are you using for stat weights? Shadowpanther uses a flat 20 crit, and no listed value for hit. Oto's uses 18 hit, 23 crit (for pre bis), 21 hit, 29 crit (for bis). Always welcoming additional resources.
I'll go into my next raid with 6% hit and report back. I took that blizzard post as confirming 8% with 305, but maybe I am misinterpreting it. Thanks for the comments and sources.
Of course. Always looking to make sure I've got the right data. Will be interesting to see. Any note on the stat weights question from my previous comment?
Boomstick dropped while farming Rune of the Guard Captain. Hunter flipped out that the other Rogue and I needed on it. I won it a drank his sweet tears.

Check out the updated video. ruclips.net/video/CAMY4TEnYck/видео.html Had the mask actually released with phase 1 like wowhead had it listed, its actually really good, especially because you can get it at 50 (Mask of Unforgiven only overtakes it once you are really geared). However, since it is releasing in phase 4, really no reason to get it over the cape.
Why is every guide that is suggesting raiding builds always using 5/5 precision? Since you will almost reach soft hit cap with gear you might only need a couple of points to reach 8% hit. I dont understand this, and I've heard it is impossible to reach hard cap. This seems like a waste of talents and essentially a waste of dps since the talents could've been placeed into the assassination tree to improve dps.
The higher hit you have from talents, the less you need to itemize for hit. So you can equip higher agi and crit gear. Edit: Also, when you get really geared, if you reach a point where you need hit to prevent misses from capping your crit chance on white swings.
@@Zatar Can you ever reach the point to where you won't miss white swings? If not then 8% hit would be sufficient at all times. Letting you either spec differently or itemize differently to maximize dps. That is why I find it weird that so few people actually talk about this.
You obviously had to listen to this back when editing I'm not quite sure if you can't hear it enough but you're speaking with a lot of spit in your mouth, you might need to adjust your mic because as informative and interesting your videos are I cant listen to them because im so irritated.

Had the mask actually released with phase 1 like wowhead had it listed, its actually really good, especially because you can get it at 50 (Mask of Unforgiven only overtakes it once you are really geared).
More hits with white swings increase dps, so any hit over 9% is not useless. It just has diminishing returns.
@@Zatar Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the answer!
Oto's rogue guide suggests that every 1% of hit is about 20 ap worth of value with pre bis gear. hit is still very good even after yellow cap
Ebon mask quest literally doesnt exist in classic.
woow very much trashtalk and no clue about game kkthxbb
yeah youre wrong about a lot of shit in here
You obviously had to listen to this back when editing I'm not quite sure if you can't hear it enough but you're speaking with a lot of spit in your mouth, you might need to adjust your mic because as informative and interesting your videos are I cant listen to them because im so irritated.
That's something your mom does alot of too bucco
@@Puddspanker even if that made sense i dont understand why that would be offensive, but nice try?
