If you're a Horde there is a repeatable quest in Desolace that requires you to gather shellfish from traps underwater. For every 5 the quest giver gives you 55s. Much faster than any of the ways listed here. Went from 20g to 100g in 2 days while only farming for 2-3 hours each day
Ive grinded from 22 to nearly 26 on the Dragon whelps mentioned in the first spot and ive gotten a decent lot of money and even one of the Whelpling pets , so great video thanks

Oily Blackmouths can be fished very early and are worth at least 7 gold a stack (wich can be easily obtained by running up and down the coastline in Darkshore).
As a mage I like farming the rock elementals in southern Badlands. Rarely farmed, very lucrative vendor trash, no stuns, and spawn very close together. They also sit right at the late 30-low 40 level range, so they're the perfect mobs for grinding out a level and having your gold for a mount. I was getting roughly 12-15g per hour just from vendor trash. I also found the schematic for mithril heavy bore rifle, which sold for a good chunk.
I started a week ago on a high pop server. I am lvl 35 and can recommend for making gold also: fishing! -Oily Blackmout Fish for Free Action Potions You need skill 75 to no 'get aways'. 4 of them are needed for a free action potion. one potion brings 1.5g to 3g . You can basically start from lvl 1 to farm these. at darkshore / westfall / barrens... and more low to mid zones but as ally I recommend darkshore. -Raw Greater Sagefish for Sagefish Delight good spot is north of strangle. skill 130 is minimum, skill 225+ for no get aways. a stack of Sagefish Delight (cooking skill 175) you can sell a stack for 9-12g. herbalism! -swiftthistles price is getting higher (p2 has started ), 20g+ per stack. swiftthistles having a chance to be found in a briarthorn and mageroyal. I farm them in duskwood as lvl 30+. in duskwood you can also find grave moss on multiple spots, good to sell and making money too.
I was so scared I wouldn't have the money for a mount. Faerlina horde, if you're gonna gather for cash, I highly recommend mining. Coarse stone, heavy stone brought me most of my cash. Small flame sac and cold eye basilisk grey trash also helped. I had 15g at level 38. When I hit 40 I had 118g. Don't worry, if you're willing to give up being as efficient as possible, you'll trip over 100g if you're grinding.
Step one: Double gathering professions. Step 2: AH all meats, cloth, scrolls and potions, herbs/ore/leather, and greens. Most usable items AH for enough more in AH to make it worth it. Step three: fish. Step 4: have 100+ gold by level 35.
I know the vid is old, but cooking jungle stew is amazing for cash too, it requires 1 tiger meat, 2 spring waters and 2 shiny apples ( water and apples are from vendor), 1 recipe creates 2 stews and a stack sells for 60s

oh boy i waas fishing and in like 1 hour i got like 30 stonescale eels, 60 winter squid and 2 golden pearls from the clams you fish! open them clams boys that was 80g extra and got me my epic mount right on the dot! had like 5g leftover :D

I run around in Crossroads killing plainstriders thas has a high chance to drop a light feather worth 50s on my server. I basically oneshot them at lvl 20 so i make about 15-20 gold an hour that way. I also farm copper ore in Durotar along with boar meat, both worth a gold per 10-stack Then there is deviate fishing. Lots of low level options tbh. Im sitting currently on 100 gold at lvl 20 after maybe 3-4 hours of testing different farm methods
me and my friend whelp farmed from level like 24 to 30, and his first night trying it he got the tiny crimsons whelpling pet, which he sold for about 50g :o lucky haha

Three words: Savory Deviate Delight. You find the recipe from humanoids in the Barrens, requires a cooking level 85, and all you needed was Deviate Fish (in the oasis’s) and Mild Spices. Sells between 12 to 28 gold.

Ganked by 60 warrior at earth location in arathi, and was "allowed" one mob respawn at the fire exile spot due to multiple other people already farming them to death....I just logged out, guessing I'm going to have to wait for late at night to attempt that.
One caveat to keep in mind is that asking price in the AH is not necessarily the price people buy for. When you look at the AH, the prices you see are for the ones that haven’t sold yet, and may not sell at all at that price. You don’t see what the ones that already sold sold for. So there’s some trial and error here, and the AH can fool you into pricing things too high very easily. For example, say the actual market price of Item A is 10 gold. There are people who have two As and need 40 gold so they price theirs at 20g each instead of 10g. There are crazy people who have huge egos and think their time is worth more so they price their As at 50 gold each. And if you go in and all the 10g ones have sold and the AH is packed full of ones at 20-40 gold that simply will not ever sell, you can end up wasting a lot of money on AH deposits. This can frequently drive up the average asking price across the entire AH, as people set their prices based on what is in the AH unsold, rather than what the item actually will sell for. A good sign that this is happening is when there is an enormous quantity of something rare in the AH, all for about the same price, and a lot of it is nearly at the auction time limit, unsold.

goldfarming in level mid 30, stranglethorn, in the north east of booty bay, idk how they get called, they are like lizard,snake,waterland mobs xD idk xD they´ve a very good dropchance to drop shells, these shells can drop pearls, all sorts of pearls, i remember the golden one costs PER unit like 25 to 50g, you need like 3 hits to kill them and there is a whole mountain full of them :3 try it out. PLUS there is a chest up the mountain, so extra loot every spawncicle
every enemy that dropps 2 handed weapons even the grey gives a shitton of money and those dropp really often in the right places its the most expensive grey item and they are avaliable in nearly every region and level

Thing is unlike 19 years ago everyone knows how to make gold now and will be doing these farms along with all the other ways to make gold and there are a ton of ways to make Gold in Classic WoW. Plus Mining Copper and Tin ore will get you your mount money along with your leveling/training fees. Though Skinning is decent as well since as you stated others will be killing skinable mobs that you can skin for free.
I used to farm the earth elementals in Burning Steppes for essance of earth for Robe of the Archmage. The elementals have a nasty reflect ability which makes them trying to farm. I farm the water elementals in EPL for essence of water but needed Hydrocane trinket for underwater breathing. How does a staff facilitate underwater breathing? I tell people the staff is hollow, lol.
First one doesnt work on my server. The AH is flooded with flame sacks for like 8silver each, which is about what you would make just grinding for trash at lvl 30-35. TBH even thought the market is flooded, it would be better to farm wool since it sells for like 3s per with a much higher drop rate.
1k needles shimmering flats. Turtles(30to35level) there drop turtle scale or idk what was it but a stack is made from 5 of those a stack sells for 45s. At level 31 I have 102 gold
Gotta love RUclipsrs ruining gold farming spots. They post these vids so people run over to these spots then the RUclipsr goes and farms a secret spot so they aren't contested.
Lol, starting at about lvl 18, I would farm the mats for the blue item Deviate Scale Belt. They sell on my server 60-80g. It can take about 1-3 hrs to get 10 perfect deviate scales, depending on my luck.

pity I’m on a dead server and there are only 30 items in AH. Nobody can afford 5-10G. I’m often the only Alliance in a given zone and there are plenty of rare spawns. Big disadvantage is not finding a group.
And allways allways remember that if you are to remove a character give all things of value to your other characters, and sell all soulbound items then send the money to your bankguy.... (Everybody needs a bankguy in classic WoW)
100% best way is light feathers 11->19, large venom sacs and spiders silk 19 -> 27. I have 260g after buying my mount at lvl 32 and im a new acc, so i cant trade with anyone. I can only sell on AH to make money.
I just did the flame sacs at 40 to get my mount it took two days but now I don't have to walk now I'm farming the flame elementals and earth elementals for my epic
Tested small flame sac and it was really bad. I farmed for 14 minutes and i estimate I killed at least 20 with no single drop (only started counting after 8 min and killed 10 in the next 6 min).
This is for anyone to know but if you see a pattern/recipe/etc. is white, it is sold by a vendor and a quick google search will show you where to buy it. Other profession patterns/recipes that are dropped around the world, will be green minimum.
6 months late so probably not helpful but you can make a lot of gold fishing oily blackmouths and firefin snappers as they are in high demand for alchemy. You can fish them in any 10+ zone.
Golden Pearl isnt really that good tbh i spend hours griding almost 4 lvls 39-43 on the crabs next to booty Bay i killed too many od them and i havent got even a single Pearl i would put elemental fire above it cuz its Way better farm because of the drop rate

My favorite classic wow farm is actually the un'goro crater skinnable mobs and the deviate delight farms.

Mistvale Gorillas are required for at least one quest - Scaring Shaky - available in BB, for which you need to kill 10-20 gorillas to get quest items

every enemy that dropps 2 handed weapons even the grey gives a shitton of money and those dropp really often in the right places its the most expensive grey item and they are avaliable in nearly every region and level
Pearls are the reason I like to call the clam "lottery tickets" and I will tell guildies that I'm "playing my lottery tickets" when I farm them until my bags are full of just clams 😂

Thing is unlike 19 years ago everyone knows how to make gold now and will be doing these farms along with all the other ways to make gold and there are a ton of ways to make Gold in Classic WoW. Plus Mining Copper and Tin ore will get you your mount money along with your leveling/training fees. Though Skinning is decent as well since as you stated others will be killing skinable mobs that you can skin for free.

I used to farm the earth elementals in Burning Steppes for essance of earth for Robe of the Archmage. The elementals have a nasty reflect ability which makes them trying to farm.
I farm the water elementals in EPL for essence of water but needed Hydrocane trinket for underwater breathing. How does a staff facilitate underwater breathing? I tell people the staff is hollow, lol.

Farming Swifthistle & Grave Moss is really profitable. I had easily 200+g by lvl 40
First one doesnt work on my server. The AH is flooded with flame sacks for like 8silver each, which is about what you would make just grinding for trash at lvl 30-35.
TBH even thought the market is flooded, it would be better to farm wool since it sells for like 3s per with a much higher drop rate.
1k needles shimmering flats. Turtles(30to35level) there drop turtle scale or idk what was it but a stack is made from 5 of those a stack sells for 45s. At level 31 I have 102 gold
Gotta love RUclipsrs ruining gold farming spots. They post these vids so people run over to these spots then the RUclipsr goes and farms a secret spot so they aren't contested.

Lol, starting at about lvl 18, I would farm the mats for the blue item Deviate Scale Belt. They sell on my server 60-80g. It can take about 1-3 hrs to get 10 perfect deviate scales, depending on my luck.
I just fish Deviate Fish, sells 2g per fish.

Well, one of my secret spot just busted
easily the best farm is to get your 225-300 fishing skill at lvl 35 and farm the feralas coast for EELs. Easy 200 gold farm in 2-3 hours.
In my server they kept selling bronze bars for max 30s stack, so i bought them from AH and crafted them for some mail green legs and sold them to the vendor. Yes i destroyed bronze bars market but who cares im rich.
Spent an hour in wetland so far, got 6 Small Flame Sacs and just got the Tiny Crimson Whelping!!!! Ty so much bro!

I tried to play/main a warrior in classic, because that’s what I main in Shadowlands. Omg If was excruciating. Now I’m probably going to main my Mage lol
pity I’m on a dead server and there are only 30 items in AH. Nobody can afford 5-10G. I’m often the only Alliance in a given zone and there are plenty of rare spawns. Big disadvantage is not finding a group.

100% best way is light feathers 11->19, large venom sacs and spiders silk 19 -> 27. I have 260g after buying my mount at lvl 32 and im a new acc, so i cant trade with anyone. I can only sell on AH to make money.
I just did the flame sacs at 40 to get my mount it took two days but now I don't have to walk now I'm farming the flame elementals and earth elementals for my epic

Tested small flame sac and it was really bad. I farmed for 14 minutes and i estimate I killed at least 20 with no single drop (only started counting after 8 min and killed 10 in the next 6 min).
As of now i have been able to collect around 150 gold and i am level 52,just doing dungeons gives me around 13 gold per run,if i am lucky 20.

This is for anyone to know but if you see a pattern/recipe/etc. is white, it is sold by a vendor and a quick google search will show you where to buy it.
Other profession patterns/recipes that are dropped around the world, will be green minimum.

6 months late so probably not helpful but you can make a lot of gold fishing oily blackmouths and firefin snappers as they are in high demand for alchemy. You can fish them in any 10+ zone.
Any profession will make paying for training easy
Make a video of how to do this as horde cause going to the wetland as a mid 20'S horde toon is cancer.
At 10-20 people can farm birds for their feathers. Not a ton of gold, but it's good if you're broke.

Golden Pearl isnt really that good tbh i spend hours griding almost 4 lvls 39-43 on the crabs next to booty Bay i killed too many od them and i havent got even a single Pearl i would put elemental fire above it cuz its Way better farm because of the drop rate
