This is peak Battle Report (tm) my dudes. It has everything - story, strategic discussion, amazing terrain, painted modes and all the hobby excitement and love from the players. This is the real evolution of the 00’s White Dwarf battle reps that we knew and loved!
This is the first time I’ve had a video of this channel recommended to me, and I couldn’t be happier about it. GW’s LotR range is what really got me into the hobby, and though I rarely played games with them (by the time I figured out how to play correctly we moved to an area where the nearest independent retailer was two hours away by car, and the nearest GW store five hours, at least for the first fee years), I still have fond memories of 11-year old me painting the miniatures from the Mines of Moria box set, as well as many more to follow, until I finally started to dabble in 40k at age 15. Good times.
That's aweomse Jordi, glad you're enjoying it all mate :) It's such a fantastic miniature range and far and away the best ruleset Games Workshop have ever produced!
Wow, out of all battle reps I've seen, from 40k to to AOS to Warhammer fantasy, this has been the most intense, especially since it involves the fellowship, the group I have most attachment to out of all fantasy/sci-fi media out there. Well done sir, you have yourself a new subscriber.
What an amazing battle report again ! Great shots and such a fun game, thank you, really enjoyed. Found myself screaming Baruk Khazad each time Gimli’s axe took a goblin. Can’t wait for Amon Hen. Campaign Killcount : Legolas : 5 goblins (including 1 captain (and a half ?) Gimli : 10 goblins + 1/3troll Boromir : 12 goblins + 1/3troll Sam : 3 goblins ( including 1 captain (or a half ?) Aragorn : 7 goblins + 1/3troll Gandalf : 10 goblins 47 goblins and a troll were hacked to pieces in the making of this campaign so far.
Fantastic content Lachlan, keeping the ME:SBG alive during lockdowns! Really immersive use of your own version of the horn of Gondor, I look forward to it's return in Amon Hen, haha.
Just diving back into that hobby after 12 years!! Sitting in my room in westgerman cologne painting some of my last khazadguards for my old khazad force and enjoying your video so much!! Keep it up guys!
This is by a long shot the best miniatures bat report channel on RUclips, this was so much fun to watch, I counting with you when gandalf spirit bombed those goblins 😂. Thanks for the awesome content, and stay safe.
Thanks so much Shaun but this is nothing! I'm really going to try and make Amon Hen special, closer in quality to how I shoot my Star Wars and 40k batreps :)
Great battle repot gents. Just blown the dust off and started the project of doing the old Balins tomb display base with original fellowship figures. Subbed and looking forward to seeing what other gems are on this channel 😁👍
Nice video and nice game! I really love this scenario. I notice the goblins are so powerful in this new version (cause they can surround easily and can charge the turn they arrieve) and the poor cave troll not recieved any bonus so is a minor thing where he should be the star of evil side! Personally I homerule cave troll with two things: His chain makes prone if hit and heroes cannot use might to wound him. And goblins with one: only the ones that enters for the door can charge the turn they arrieve. We played 3 games with that rules and was so fun.
Such an awesome battle rep! As a Moria player it was especially fun to watch. Alas, Goblin Shooting is already rough without a pesky wizard casting bright lights in their eyes...
Great vid - awesome terrain and painted minis. Is there no bridge of khazad dum scenario, thought that would be next? Love your channel has inspired me to start collecting and painting LOTR minis again after 15 years 👏😁
Great battle!! Those nasty gobbos managed to put a lot of damage on the fellowship. Which shows that Mark means business!! Gandalf was surely the MVP, blowing up 8 goblins is phenomenal!! Just realized that I totally messed up the viewing order of the quest of the ringbearer. Fantastic editing as usual!!
@@Zorpazorp It happens to me quite a lot with Saruman tbh. Blinding light and terrifying aura can be stacked? If that is possible that would mean that Gandalf would cause terror and would be invisible to shooting.
@@Zorpazorp The one attack is the such a big drawback. It's impossible for Gandalf to kill the Balrog in SBG. Maybe they could bump his price for more 30 points and give him a second attack. Low defense, low fate and one attack makes him a bit expensive point wise. He is a Maiar!!
Man what music did you use in the first 15+ minutes of the video? Its driving me crazy, i know its from a game I've played and loved immensely but I cant place it. First I thought maybe Total War Warhammer or Imperial Glory but no.... Its not from any LotR right? Agh its killing me! Had to re-watch the first half because I was so focused on the music XD loved the video man, you always make them super fun to watch!
Love this. You and Mark are a great combo. Sad to hear the third batrep is the last one. Promise me there will be more Lachy and Marky videos in the future!
I think the scenario would be more fun if it wouldnt respawn the fallen goblins but instead spawned a fixed amount of goblins per turn or if you rolled dice to determine how many will arrive. Of course that only works if you have enough goblin models
I know this is not a new video, but anyway I'll comment on this one since I just saw it.. Even though I'm not familiar with this game at all, I still think it's exciting to follow the battle reports especially because of the amazing production, atmosphere and enthusiasm put into this.. Keep up the great work! Since you also cover other Warhammer stuff, a huge wish for me could be to take on Space Hulk with the same amount of detail and production, 'cause that IMO would be awesome to see continuous Space Hulk campaigns in a similar style as this.. But that's just my hope for potential future content.
You could play it any way you like! I think the best way to do it is if he dies you auto count him as dead instead of rolling injury, but if he survives you can play it that way :)
Just jumping into the hobby now (for the first time in 15 years). Looking at making a Balin's Tomb set for my first gameboard. Love the look of this one! Do you have any tips for building a similar board?
I did this scenario with fantasy fellowship and parked Frodo and Anborn on one trap door and farmer maggot and Damrod on the other to block reinforcements, had Galadriel, leggy, Erestor, strider, and madril slowly pull back making a big U shape. My leggy one shot the troll once it arrived luckily and I took one wound the entire fight. Definitely thanks to dice rolls but I found eliminating the trap doors very helpful
