LG CX & LG C1 owner here. Haven't been missing much with my beloved new 77 inch QD-OLED. However not a huge fan of Tizen, I heard it through the grapevine that LG going to drop WEB OS and start implementing Google TV for their new OS? Anyone else heard of anything else like that?
@huawafabe I just went from a C9 65" to the 77" C4 yesterday and it's a big upgrade right out of the box. Slight blue hue when off to the side (45°) but only noticeable when full white screen. Doesn't bother me one bit.
So at 42 " the S90D using the same panel as the C4, that is why there is a lot of hype for LG C4. A lot of people who want to use this as a PC monitor it makes more sense to get LG C4 over anything else.
I got this OLED 3 weeks ago go. I was able to unbox and set up the stand by myself. It’s extremely easy. While it’s 65 inches it’s as light as a feather. The guy that posted this is correct when it comes to the sound system that is needed. I have a Bose soundbar, plus side speakers, and subwoofer (500). With those bells and whistles, it doesn’t disappoint.
I don't game and have a 77C1 as my main TV. I also have the 65C4 in master bedroom that replaced a old 55C9. I would go for the largest size that will fit your space. Example: go for the 77C3 compared to a 65C4 if they are the same price. I really don't see or do anything different with my 77C1 compared to my 65C4 (looking at the larger screens in both spaces is figgin' nice).
The best tv this year is the b4, sometimes you can find the 55 at 700€. It's very similar to the c4. Otherwise if you can find a G3 with first gen mla also is a good choice but it will cost more
@Serandi1987 I have both the C4 and the S90D. Everyone will say the samsung S90D but I am here to tell you that the S90D motion handling compared to the C4 is horrible. If you play bright games the S90D is way to bright. I use the S90D for tv shows and HDar movies and the C4 for PS5. I know it's completely opposite of what this video says but my eyes are telling me otherwise. By the way game optimizer issue with dimming on the C4 was fixed in a firmware update awhile ago. Also, I have not seen any green tint on the C4's... Both tvs are great but for different reasons. Good luck!
@brandonjvl1987 thank you brother 🤝 I have the C1 and I'm struggling to switch to the C4 for almost only gaming with my 4090-PC. I love the C1 and I'd only upgrade to the C4 if it would be much better for gaming but I think it's not the case and I should wait for 4k@240Hz OLED TVs.
Your welcome! I have had the LG CX, C2, and now the C4. I can tell you the picture quality is much better than the C2. It's much brighter and motion handling is better. I know the C1 was a little dimmer than the C2. I honestly am really enjoying the C4. I have not seen a C4 with any green tint as well. I think it would be a great choice for you. As I said in the last comment however, depends on the type of games your playing. Brighter games do not do good in my opinion on the S90D and better on the C4. C4 and S90D is also 144hz @4k. Might be some time til they get to 240. Not sure though. Whichever you choose, take your time and do your research and I'm sure you will be happy!

New LG G4 owner here coming from an LG C3 (that I sold) and there is ZERO image retention on the G4. The C3 has a good bit of it, when sitting on the Apple TV homescreen too long then going into Amazon Prime or the Xbox dashboard. I wonder why the C4 has image retention while the G4 seems to be literally immune to it, since they're both Evo panels just one has the MLA layer. Great review man and I agree, the C2-C4 have been way too similar to where it feels LG is just sitting on their laurels.
Thank you. G4 has MLA and uses a heat sink and yes I didn’t notice any retention issues with that for sure. I’m pretty sure that it has something to do with the C4 being so bright without there being a heat sink in the TV, it’s measured close to the G2 in brightness and that had a heat sink.
@@TechWithKG interesting! I didn’t know the G4 has a heat sink as well. Good to know and keep up the awesome videos man. Quantum’s got nothing on you.🙌
Should i get c4 or go for g4 ? In my country the price gap is huge. Is heat sink too important for preventing burn in? Im playing ps5 2 hours a day maybe
This is for the 55+ versions, 42 and 48 don’t have the same brightness as the higher sizes so you’re not going to see this problem, I have a 42” OLED as my main monitor and I also don’t have temporary image retention issues
I've had the c3 for a year and here are my thoughts: As far as the picture is concerned, like vibrancy, contrast, color, accuracy, it's amazing. Motion: for movies it's mostly average to bad (stuttery) depending on content. Doesn't matter what motion settings you input. Gaming: vrr is complete trash. The flickering makes it unusable. If you're buying a TV just for its vrr capabilities, Skip LG. Everything else like input delay is fine. Pretty much the rest of the stuff in game optimizer mode is fine, basically not a big deal, almost gimmicky. Inputs: plenty of inputs, all of them 4K high refresh rate. This is just fine. Other things: My TV as well as many others I've seen people post about have bad dirty screen effect. This basically makes any scene that's darker but not completely black have very poor picture quality as the screen artifacts will show in the content. I'd say this is a deal-breaker, and until LG can improve their quality control, I'd skip LG oleds.
If you havent bought a (oled) tv yet, or about to purchase and want the best overall = G4 If your saving money, or are willing to wait for another 6 months or so = Next Sony Qd-oled (A95M?) with new pentonic chip, 4x hdmi 2.1, better Sony processing, next gen brighter QD panel.
I’m really thinking about getting this TV but how long will an OLED last? I really like horror movies but my current LG LED Tv has light bleeding on dark scenes. I was thinking about getting an OLED to combat that.
Would this tv be a upgrade from a lg cx? My cx is starting to give out so I need a new gaming tv but would prefer the best gaming tv but was looking forward to a c4 but with your review im not sure what to try out now
If only they made 42" and 48" versions of the S90D to use as a computer monitor. It would be a notable improvement over my 48" C2 that I've been using for that purpose for a few years now.
@@TechWithKG What W-OLED, and what 48" TV would you recommend for PC gaming? I also have vision issues, which is why I prefer the LG game mode cause of how big and unique it is. Thanks in advance.
Anyone on here debating buying this or a Sony Bravia 7 ? I know it’s not an oled but it’s picture is similar but no worries about burn in, no problems with hdmi ports to worry about. I recently saw the G4 I and was impressed by how fantastic it looked compared to the C4. Then I saw Sony released the Bravia 9. It just as good as the best oled TVs right now from reviews and videos I’ve seen. I’m thinking of buying that instead before the football season starts. The only negative, besides being pricey lol, is it only has 2 hdmi 2.1 ports and one is needed for e arc.
Hey KG, For people that don’t upgrade TVs as often and for a home theatre use case would you recommend QD-OLEDs over the W-OLEDs as when 4000 nits movies become more available even though the S95D wasn’t able to get as bright as an B9. it was able to keep colour and detail were as the G4 would lose colour. And if thats the case do you think next year QD-OLEDs will be bigger in size as i got my hart set on an 80+ inch
I like QD OLED but there’s no denying the G4 presents an image that has depth and sharpness like no other TV this year. S95D on the other hand is unmatched for color in my eyes.
Is this with dinamic tone mapping on or not. Because my C3 with dinamic tone mapping the faces looks like the people have a lot of makeup and if i turn dinamic tone mapping off the tv looks real dim.
On mine the color shifts cooler at about 45 degrees. I guess you could say it's somewhat of a green tint. Had it for a year so I'm guessing time doesn't affect it.

@@Kivancli79 OLED has a great advantage with pixel control when absolute black is truly intended. But in general they tend to crush some shadow detail. The weakness with OLED has always been taking proper steps just outside of black without introducing artifacts like chrominance overshoot, flickering, or dithering noise. It's a combination of the organic material and the electrical delivery they just don't jive well at those very low levels.
The C series has ALWAYS been overrated. I fell for the hype and got my kid a c2 years back and was greeted with the regular dullness and flatness of a woled. Better off with a S90 or U8 for the price.

LG bad game mode is why I sold my C1. The brightness decline in SDR was unacceptable especially playing Switch games. HDR was not as bad but gaming was not nearly as punchy and impactful as the QD-OLEDs. It's unacceptable that LG grays out peak brightness and other brightness boosting options while in game mode. What hifi in the uk said the C4 was an upgrade from the C3 which they did not rate to much last year
LG CX & LG C1 owner here.

Question for Mac users! Are you all enjoying it with the Mac Studio or MacBook? Can you get 144 hz on it? How’s the text ?
So at 42 " the S90D using the same panel as the C4, that is why there is a lot of hype for LG C4. A lot of people who want to use this as a PC monitor it makes more sense to get LG C4 over anything else.
Better quality control for LG.

I don't game and have a 77C1 as my main TV. I also have the 65C4 in master bedroom that replaced a old 55C9. I would go for the largest size that will fit your space. I really don't see or do anything different with my 77C1 compared to my 65C4 (looking at the larger screens in both spaces is figgin' nice).
The best tv this year is the b4, sometimes you can find the 55 at 700€.
It's very similar to the c4.
Otherwise if you can find a G3 with first gen mla also is a good choice but it will cost more
What's better for PC gaming?? The C4 or the S90D??
S90D is a better overall gaming TV imo, you lose less when it comes to gaming you also have game motion plus as a tool.
Good luck!
@brandonjvl1987 thank you brother 🤝
I have the C1 and I'm struggling to switch to the C4 for almost only gaming with my 4090-PC.

This TV is excellent I'm tired of those dark screen TV's.

Using a 42 inch C4 for gaming with a 4090, can’t see any bit of image retention whatsoever… you must have had a dud
This is for the 55+ versions, 42 and 48 don’t have the same brightness as the higher sizes so you’re not going to see this problem, I have a 42” OLED as my main monitor and I also don’t have temporary image retention issues

Bro in person the average person can’t tell the difference trust me
@oledgaming4997 Probably right but Amazon selling them for only $1800.
Too good a deal to pass up on LG's best OLED...
I've had the c3 for a year and here are my thoughts:
As far as the picture is concerned, like vibrancy, contrast, color, accuracy, it's amazing.
I never heard anyone say this in a review of the tv. Rtings gave the vrr a perdect 10. All oled tv motion suck to be fair.
If you havent bought a (oled) tv yet, or about to purchase and want the best overall = G4
If your saving money, or are willing to wait for another 6 months or so = Next Sony Qd-oled (A95M?) with new pentonic chip, 4x hdmi 2.1, better Sony processing, next gen brighter QD panel.
Is the G series as good as the C series when it comes to gaming? This is for PC gaming.

Yup, you need to play in other modes OR get yourself a G4, there’a no color drop in game mode.
