Nice review Andrew. That canvas speaker is interesting looking. Guess that’s the preview you were alluding to. Curious what drink you poured after you finished this weeks Live 😅
I’m still running an LG CX and frankly the picture still amazes me. It gets plenty bright enough, contrast is amazing and colors are perfect. I admit, spending more on an update would improve things but still very impressed. I’ve never noticed any processing issues. We’ve got a LG OLED B7P from Costco in 2018. We’re using it with an Apple TV 4k 1st gen and we’ve super happy with that combo. Don’t need to change it unless it breaks. 😊
It was a pretty big deal here at the Ruby Estates when we upgraded a few months ago from a 55" to 65" (a Bravia 9). As someone that doesn't have the wall space...thank you for reviewing a "normal size" HDTV.
Still an OLED fan here. If LG is going to have an issue where the TV is constantly asking to program it's remote while I'm using AppleTV, then I'm skipping LG - those little bits end up being a big annoyance over very long term use. And that's on TOP of the slow processor. Our old Sammy Plasma in our living room refuses to die, but when it does - we're going with Sony again. Even if it's for a good bit of a price bump. ....Still waiting for a 90" OLED to hit the shelves. That would be our absolute sweet spot for perfect movie viewing in our little theater space.
I have a LG C1 65" and I have only been asked to use the LG remote when the TV wants to update or run the pixel care program. This is very rare, btw. One thing I did see is that Rtings recommended for the C1 to do its daily maintenance routine to avoid burn-in, you need to turn it off with the LG remote. Since finding that out, I use the LG remote to turn it off at the end of the night. I use the 3rd party remote to turn it on and use it the rest of the time.

Hi Andrew, love your format and topics on how you review tv’s. Can you please review the Sony Bravia 7 and let us know how it compares to the TCL qm851g, which you gave high marks to, and how much better you think the Bravia 7 is to your x90l. Thanks man
I have a 55 inch B2, and I think Andrew nailed the review. Web OS IS slow. There's also ads, and bloat. I would even prefer Roku which is what I had on my previous $300 TCL 4 series set. BUT, they bundle clean and bloat free Roku with the cheaper sets! I can't complain about the B2 for the $699 I had paid for it; it was a returned item in the back room. The B3 is coming in at $1199 on the LG site (which is irrational pricing for the old model). C4 is better, and is probably a huge seller, but still has Web OS. Something people don't always realize is, Sony is the only brand where the warranty is transferable from the original purchaser. One of the reasons for the price premium. They have better poor quality image processing and a better user interface. I just hadn't wanted to pay more for a Sony at time.
Hello Andrew and Kristie, I'm wondering how I'll know when it makes the most sense to upgrade my setup. I have the LG 77B2 TV and the Q990B soundbar right now. For the TV, I think I'll wait until 4K@120fps video games aren't the standard anymore. Most games can't even do ray tracing and 120fps at the same time, or even 60 fps in many games. So I figure we're still a ways away from 8K gaming. As for the soundbar, I'm not really sure because we don't know how Samsung will improve on the 990 D/C/B. A slight improvement wouldn't warrant a new purchase; it would have to be substantially different from my 990B. Best Regards.
The b4 was on a nice discount. I picked it up and love it. Now I game and watch movies/shows on it. I see what the oled hype is about. My mini led does not compare to it
Got my 48” LG C2 for around $450 at Costco. It was around $1200 originally. Price went down a few times until there were only 3 left. I am using it as my computer monitor for stock day trading instead of multiple smaller monitors.
Great review Andrew. I got the 77" B3 for £1500 (I'm in the UK) just after the B4 came out. It's a cracking TV for the price and so much better than the FALD LED TV it replaced!
LG b4, depending on the model number (Costco has the wifi 6e, Best Buy has the wifi 5 version), it makes a huge difference. s90D has wifi 5, s95D also wifi 5.
Great in-depth review. I recently got this but after a 16yo plasma (non smart) so it looks and performs great in comparison. Great deals in my region so got it for a good price. So would suggest it for someone in my situation.
I would have loved to hear a bit more comparison between the B4 and C4 from LG. I'm considering those 2 for gaming due to price and I'm not sure if the C4 is worth the extra $$ over the B4
@@urekmazino6800 why is c4 better for pc? I got a 4090 and looking to run triple screens for iracing. The b4 is on sale for 600 bucks so was going to pull the trigger.
@@aaroncolyer9202 If you have the money the the c4 basically console runs 120 hz best and pc runs 144hz best its like trying to use 1080p on a 27’inch screen it just does not fit
Good timing on the review. At Amazon the b4 is $1299 a c3 $1446 and a G3 is $1996. And the new Sony Bravia 8 is $1898. I currently own a 3 year old LG mini led and it’s not bad but looking to upgrade so thinking of buying the g3 as it does come with a 5 year manufacturers warranty that includes burn-in. My living room does have some brightness from windows but the tv would be located in the corner on the other side from windows. So…..Andrew/Kristy what you think? I think the b4 would be fine normally but I think I need a brighter tv.
Still have my CX and it still looks great in a dark room, really been wondering if I should go for the G4 next time or how much better the C's have gotten since 2020.
Hi! I’ve had B7, C9, C1 and now C3. Every upgrade has been very noticeable in picture quality and usability. C1 fixed the poorish contrast of c9 and C3 is notably brighter than C1. Even C4 would be huuuge upgrade from CX.
@@arikononen4022 thanks! I was thinking compared to what I'm used to, the C4 would be a big jump and I could save the $ for a bigger size than if I got a G4.
We have owned a 65" OLED since 2018. Yes, WebOS is slow and they REALLY want to sell your data, hence why they want you to use their OS. Got an Apple TV and it's really night and day usability wise. And yes, we have loved owning it. It just looks great, especially in general day to day use
Our current TVs are a Hitachi and Panasonic Plasmas. Both still have great pictures (especially the Panasonic) but both are only 50 inches. We are thinking about getting a 65 inch tv for daily viewing and a 75 inch for movies and special viewing. Since we are used to plasma do you think that we should replace these with OLEDs or mini-LEDs? I have read reviews and watched many of your reviews but I'm still not sure which is the best overall. The 65 inch will be in a great room type environment so it will be somewhat bright. The 75 inch will be in a basement so it will be darker. Thanks for your opinion on this and keep up the good work! I really enjoy your stuff. Bought some Polk R700s based mainly on your review, and I love them. Thanks again!
@@chadcantrell4091 same interest! I am watching my circa 2007 Pioneer Elite 50”, and it still has a great picture and sound (side mounted 15W speakers).
OLEDs give a every similar viewing experience to plasma. I have had different plasmas for 20 years, but always struggled to enjoy LCD / mini led pictures. OLEDS are just like watching a next generation plasma. TV stations always used OLEDs for vision controller monitors which is very telling.
Does the use of a third party streaming device affect the quality of the picture in any way? If it is Apple, do I just have to make sure it’s the 4K one and plugged into a certain HDMI port? Thanks!
Reviewing the B class at the bottom of the range I would expect everything you said. Now compare the G series to Sony and lets see your results. Would be very useful as I'm due an upgrade from my C class LG.
I am still sporting a B7, so I am sure this would be an upgrade if I replaced. Thing Is it still impresses me every time I sit down to watch and have no need except I kinda want to go bigger than the 65"
Talking about webOS,it's only sluggish on low spec models of low tier models. I have at home LG C2 and LG QNED826RE (which isn't real QLED,and i was pissed, when i find out,but it was too late),and speed of UI is day and night between them. C2 is lightspeed fast through menu, while 826RE sometimes makes me test my patience while loading setting menu etc. For me it shouldn`t be a struggle for menu as it's not demanding task for CPU nowadays even for TV cpu...like come on...
OLED is great but for me, especially with Sony’s advancements in blooming and light control (Bravia 9) a Sony MiniLED is what I prefer. Even if the OLEDs were free…. I’m still sticking with the MiniLED Sony. Of course I own a Sony 85” X95K MiniLED but I don’t have any FOMO on upgrading.
Did you notice any shifting of tint as you move your viewing position? I just returned an LG C3 due to having a pink tint on the left side of the screen on bright scenes like those on commercials. The color shifts as you move. Been on reddit forums and saw quite a few reports regarding this. Some saying that it’s caused by the coating LG is using on their Evo panels. It’s actually not very distracting but I know it’s there. Anyway I exchanged it for a Samsung S90C which it doesn’t have this problem.
I’m really leaning towards the 98” QM8 or 90L. I’ve had the 85” Sony 950h for almost 4 years. It’s been a great TV and I love Sony. I hate to say it, but TCL has that Kia brand to me-I respect them and I feel like I’ll have less “what if’s” by just going with Sony. And BFCM deals could be a determining factor. The recent TCL review was great BTW. I never would’ve considered TCL if it weren’t for your review.
That canvas speaker looks damn interesting, but why is it setting itself up for 65 inch TV tho? More horizontal length means better L/R separation, less compatible with bigger TV too... Should've set itself for 77"+ TVs.
Really appreciate a smaller TV review! Great information and review as always. About to build our small family basement family room. It will be about 19 x 11.5 feet with a 7 foot+ ceiling and one corner open to a hallway. Question: do you recommend the TV on the long or short wall? Still in the design phase. This OLED might be perfect in a basement with no natural light or windows
Morning everyone! I have a lot of issues with LGs software for sure. It used to be a great system, but like any other built in tv system, it’s gone downhill as well. That being said, I adore my G2 OLED. However, I’ve noticed them going the Apple way with building TVs, where lower end models get the cheaper, less capable chips to power them and it shows here as well. Even the cooling of the panel is different since my G2 has zero ABL to speak of even during very long gaming sessions or watching sports “Saints 😜”. But it is awesome to see proper HDMI ports now as before they had only two HDMI 2.1 ports from what I recall. Either way, I think this is a great TV for those looking for stellar picture quality and that don’t want another LED set or don’t care for other features much. Have to say, and I might be completely wrong, but the videos looks different this time. Not sure what it is, the contrast is different? That Bokeh on Andrew shoes is just utter perfection. Either way, it looks phenomenal. Great review and I’m actually even more excited for that Canvas review, seems right up my alley in terms of design at least.. 😅 Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday! 🎉
LG definitely "saved" on processing here. If you can get by with 300-ish Nits of brightness and leave the real-time contrast and brightness aides off, the ABL isn't noticeable, though the image is dim. It's less of an issue in a darkened room, but in ambient light, anyone who wants a punchy image should probably skip this TV. We changed the location of our B-roll, so the lighting and overall appearance will obviously be different. As for my A-camera work, I stopped down a little more and shot this video at T2.8, which on a super 35mm sensor would be equivalent to roughly f4 (in photographic terms). This may account for the slight change in contrast as I'm in the lens' "butter zone." Stay tuned for more on the Canvas 😉
@@KristiWright Hello ma’am! It’s embarrassing a bit, but I meant to say on Andrew’s Shots* not shoes. I don’t know what’s going on but my iPhone keyboard after the latest update has been going everywhere but where it needs to… 😬 Hope you are doing well and enjoying your Sunday!
I would love a Sony OLED. My wife was wondering if it would work for a bedroom TV, but in a smaller size? I told her that she might be disappointed due to burn-in. I am aware that much has been done to mitigate this issue but I have concerns. Excellent video from the two of you and continue the great work that you do, please and thank you.
Hi Andrew, great review as always. What would you and Kristi recomend in terms of value for a TV thats for all round use movies, gaming and streaming when considering this budget LG B4 at 65"vs an equally priced 'higher'range Hisense and/or TCL (possibly of larger size) instead? PS: that Canvas speaker looks rather interesting looking forward to that review
Great video. I recently picked up a Sony a80L oled, I couldn’t be happier. Though the Sony is a80L is bit picky with room lighting. Is the LG b4 better with brighter rooms? Big thanks to you and Kristi for making great informative videos! Looking forward to your next one! Have a great one all!

RUclips covers all transaction fees, so 100% of what you give will go to the areas in need. You should see the Fundraiser off to the side if you are on a laptop or directly under the video on a mobile device. Our goal is $5000.00 and we appreciate any effort to give if you can.*
For me personally, it’s Sony ftw all day! They just seem to have more headroom throughout their entire range with their processors. I also noticed that Sony does not crush blacks as much as the LGs.
Unless one really wants something new, I think if one can find a previous generation S90C or C3 for similar pricing (or maybe even 50 to 100 more) it could be a better bang for the buck
I found out today that Andrew is right about the Sony A95: that is the best OLED tv, I've ever seen. If there's ones that go for more money, I don't want them. I have a B2, and it will have to do, for now.
Hi! I'm a new sub to the channel and starting my journey in home theater and hifi. I was wondering, for people new to this space, do you have a video going over the basic lingo and terms you use when reviewing equipment. When watching a lot of other reviews it can feel like the reviewer is speaking a different language. I was also curious if we could get a review on the JBL Stage2 speakers in regards to home theater use! Love the content and have learned a lot already!
Most of the improved processing and scaling features in more expensive sets don't really matter when you buy your own high end streamers/devices and don't rely on the TV to handle stuff like apps or scaling.
As we prepared to get decisive with our upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday purchase: new 77-75 inch or 85inch tv for living room wall where we also have our AWOL projector setup. It'll be for normal tv watching when not using projector and self rising screen. We have looked recently at the Samsung S90D in 77inch flavor and also Hisense U8N at 85inch which is $200 less which after seeing several reviews and rtings review. The Hisense is a whole lot of tv for the prices especially at 85inches for a large living room.
Hey Andrew! I 'm a big fan of your channel so congrats for the exceptional work! I 'm considering the B4 but i have a (probably dump) question. I want to mount it on the wall but i have noticed that the eARC port where I 'd like to connect my Q990B is located on the back iso the side of the tv. Would it work the same if I connected the soundbar to one of the side HDMI 2.1 ports iso the eARC in order to get Dolby Atmos and TrueHD? Thank you so much!
The slower WebOS is probably due to the B4's slower processor. I have the older LG C1 and no slow downs. It's just fantastic. Also, my C1 generally upscales 1080p content beautifully. It seems some deliberate compromises have been made with the B4. I'd say cough up just a little more for the C4. Where I am right now, the LG C4 is only $120 more than the B4, 55". So here it would be a no-brainer to go for the C4. i too hated the Magic Remote at first, but soon got used to it, and switching between pointer and normal modes. I'll say this; overall I will never go back to a Samsung TV. Even to this day I'm getting firmware updates, beautiful art gallery when the TV is in standby, and just an overall great experience with the TV.
Honestly I no longer even consider OLED. No doubting its strengths, but all my recent tv purchases have been 85-98” and OLED can’t compete. I also had one a few years back that was unwatchable in my living rooms with all the windows, so it’s just a guest room tv now.
bro i went for b4 even thought i am sony boy, a80l was too dim for me, or i would say its only good to watch movies in a dark environment , i had more serious choice between b4 and c3 , but i choose b4 :-)
Who needs anything more? I went from an excellent late model Samsung plasma (that had developed 'sparkles' in cold weather) to a 55" B8 when the BB Superbowl price dropped to $1400. The OLED was not a big upgrade over plasma but an upgrade none the less. I rationalized a 'B' model because all picture processing is turned off. At the time external streamers were having trouble with frame rate changes, the internal streamer was not. The internal streamer lacked channels, no: PBS, ESPN, Kino, Criterion etc & that's still true. I use ISF modes. HDR hi-lites are very white. After the waranty period, I turned the Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) off in the service menu to improve hi-lites. HTH.
Is the software slow ? Is it reliable? Long term and what would you do with this tv if it went wrong after the warranty have lg got good customer service this is what I’d like to know if possible
@@DETERMINOLOGY Not everybody wants to spend all that money on a tv. I would rather invest the money or spend it on home improvements than spend over $1500 on a tv. I do check local retailers regularly for returned C3s and C4s. Also, the content that I watch most of the time, often doesn't get the most out of an OLED tv: it doesn't have the most brilliant colors, or the greatest contrast. Any OLED tv is probably going to outperform any tv that's under $1000 including mini LED ones.
@ you making it seem like the c series is 1k more. If your buying a oled and buying a b series your playing your self and you might as well get c series which is usually a few 200 or so more and you can catch deals. If you’re going to get a oled do it right
I just pulled the trigger on a 77 in b4, in part due to this review. I was considering a 65 in c4, a 77 in Bravia 7, or a 77(or 75,whichever it comes in ) qm8. I almost went with the qm8, but opted for the b4. Side by side it was close enough to the c4, but for$100 more I could get 12 in more display, so I went with that.$1700 with tax for a 77 in oled is a great deal to me. It’s bright enough too. I have blackout sound absorbing curtains so the reflections are no problem.

Hello Andrew and Kristie,
I'm wondering how I'll know when it makes the most sense to upgrade my setup.
Enjoyed that cinematic intro!
We decided to have a bit of fun. Glad you found it funny!
The b4 was on a nice discount. I picked it up and love it. Now I game and watch movies/shows on it. I see what the oled hype is about. My mini led does not compare to it
I agree you should at least be comparing the C4 to the sony. Also feel that only token mention of newer Samsung Oleds are made .
Why the TV sit at an angle on the stand ? normally TV sit at 90 degre angle.
Please do a review of S90C or S90D. The competitor of C3 & C4
@@xXLARzXx please explain the difference
The canvas reminds me of the B&O Beovison Harmony very stylish
Great in-depth review. I recently got this but after a 16yo plasma (non smart) so it looks and performs great in comparison. Great deals in my region so got it for a good price. So would suggest it for someone in my situation.
I love the magic remote. It’s simple and great! My only ask for LG is to automatically improve their de-judder. It’s my only complaint
I would have loved to hear a bit more comparison between the B4 and C4 from LG. I'm considering those 2 for gaming due to price and I'm not sure if the C4 is worth the extra $$ over the B4
@@SinnfullDuck from what ive seen if you console game then the b4 gives you everything the c4 does in terms of that

Got an LG G1 65" on clearance for 1200USD.Fantastic TV and has none of the issues you mentioned with the B4 Andrew.
I'm not surprised the more expensive and higher-end G Series doesn't suffer from ABL etc. That makes sense.
THANKS ANDREW AND KRISTI 🤗💚💚💚

Still have my CX and it still looks great in a dark room, really been wondering if I should go for the G4 next time or how much better the C's have gotten since 2020.
@@jjnewbold same. I love my cx. It doesn’t seem like the upgrade over the last 4 years warrant a $2k upgrade
I hear good things about the C and G lines, though LG thought it better to send us the B4 I Would love to see the G4 myself.
Hi! I’ve had B7, C9, C1 and now C3. Every upgrade has been very noticeable in picture quality and usability. C1 fixed the poorish contrast of c9 and C3 is notably brighter than C1. Even C4 would be huuuge upgrade from CX.

We have owned a 65" OLED since 2018. Yes, WebOS is slow and they REALLY want to sell your data, hence why they want you to use their OS. Got an Apple TV and it's really night and day usability wise. And yes, we have loved owning it. It just looks great, especially in general day to day use
Thanks! I love A/V and the TV is a BIG part of that love.

After 55" C9 before three months I bought 77" G4, what an amazing TV!
The Canvas looks like the Beovision Harmony. With an LG panel is similar to
Genuinely thought that was a Harmony in the thumbnail before I looked closer and read the title 😅
Thanks!
This is a great question. It should, but I don’t know for sure.
Reviewing the B class at the bottom of the range I would expect everything you said. Now compare the G series to Sony and lets see your results. Would be very useful as I'm due an upgrade from my C class LG.
We tried to get the C and G but LG sent the B 🤷♂ Hopefully it won't be another 84 years until we get to review the C or G lines.

I can get a 77" B4 for $1,599 now compare that to the price of a 77" G4.
I am still sporting a B7, so I am sure this would be an upgrade if I replaced. Thing Is it still impresses me every time I sit down to watch and have no need except I kinda want to go bigger than the 65"
What is the top 3 tvs you recommend?
The TCL is great. In fact, I wish we had not sent it back. 🤷♀

LG B4 or Hisense U8 or TCL equivalent for a 65 to 75 inch?
That canvas speaker looks damn interesting, but why is it setting itself up for 65 inch TV tho? More horizontal length means better L/R separation, less compatible with bigger TV too... Should've set itself for 77"+ TVs.
Really appreciate a smaller TV review! Great information and review as always. About to build our small family basement family room. It will be about 19 x 11.5 feet with a 7 foot+ ceiling and one corner open to a hallway. Question: do you recommend the TV on the long or short wall? Still in the design phase. This OLED might be perfect in a basement with no natural light or windows
I'm still using the A80j, and it still looks awesome.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday!
This may account for the slight change in contrast as I'm in the lens' "butter zone."
Stay tuned for more on the Canvas 😉
Hey Vadym! What did you mean by, "Bokeh on Andrew's shoes...?"
@@KristiWright Hello ma’am! It’s embarrassing a bit, but I meant to say on Andrew’s Shots* not shoes. I don’t know what’s going on but my iPhone keyboard after the latest update has been going everywhere but where it needs to… 😬

*IMPORTANT OFF TOPIC SUBJECT: Hi, everyone. Thank you so much for joining us today. We're raising money for Hurricane Helene relief. Helene has hit areas like Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, affecting people who don't typically see this type of damage from hurricanes. The devastation is pretty bad. I know that some of our viewers live in these areas, so if you can give anything, no matter how little, please do. All donations will go directly to the Red Cross. RUclips covers all transaction fees, so 100% of what you give will go to the areas in need. You should see the Fundraiser off to the side if you are on a laptop or directly under the video on a mobile device. Our goal is $5000.00 and we appreciate any effort to give if you can.*
Thank you Andrew and team 🙏🙏
For me personally, it’s Sony ftw all day! They just seem to have more headroom throughout their entire range with their processors. I also noticed that Sony does not crush blacks as much as the LGs.

Unless one really wants something new, I think if one can find a previous generation S90C or C3 for similar pricing (or maybe even 50 to 100 more) it could be a better bang for the buck
Nice review as always. Will there be a review of the Canvas stand in the future?
Did yours have a green tint off angle? The ones I’ve seen in stores seem to have it to varying degrees.
How is the TV from a angle? Is the green tint really noticeable?
One comparison I would like would be how the B4 compares to the C series from a year or two ago? I agree the Magic Remote sucks. Thanks!
A B4 to C4 comparison, unfortunately, is not going to happen as explained in the first 20 seconds of the video.
C3 over B4 any day, especially bigger sizes.

I like Sony period . My fav is the 85 X95L mini led. Maybe one day when I move next year .🤞.❤
You continue to be the best! Thanks.
Good to know that spending a little more on the C or G Series results in faster OS response times.
Awesome!! Hello all!

Honestly I no longer even consider OLED. No doubting its strengths, but all my recent tv purchases have been 85-98” and OLED can’t compete. I also had one a few years back that was unwatchable in my living rooms with all the windows, so it’s just a guest room tv now.
My C1 with custom calibration from Quantum TV RUclips channel 😎👍🏽 still rocks
how does this compare to the Sony A80L OLED?
bro i went for b4 even thought i am sony boy, a80l was too dim for me, or i would say its only good to watch movies in a dark environment , i had more serious choice between b4 and c3 , but i choose b4 :-)
@michaelmelik7993 is webos24 really that slow? Does it bother you?
Long term and what would you do with this tv if it went wrong after the warranty have lg got good customer service this is what I’d like to know if possible
webOS is covered in the review
Highly if you’re going to spend this much on a oled, Get a c series or higher. B series which is lower end and you get less brightness
Not everybody needs the extra brightness. I can't make assumptions about how much a stranger can dim the lighting in their room.
@ they don’t but if ima spend that much i might as well get the better version. B series is the lazy version
Enjoy your new TV!
@ thanks for the great review which heavily influenced my decision.
I been a lg guy all my life finally switch to Samsung oled s90D and I’m happy that I switch
What do you like most about the Samsung?
Been thinking about the same to try something new but lack of Dolby Vision kills it for me regarding Samsung.
I have the LG C2 Oled tv and I agree their os is slow and I use my Apple box which is night and day.
