@@rimurutempest5221 He proved to dragons that he was worthy in that episode. But they didn't train him. They trained Iroh, and Iroh trained Zuko. That's it.
@@Spherrum do you have to rewatch the episode? They taught zuko and aang the true meaning of firebending, and we never knew how they trained iroh, they could of done the same thing. And it explains why iroh is so calm when he bends.
Gacha _ Zodiac azulas lightning injured him because he still managed to redirect some of it (you can see the lightning get redirected )but because he had to jump in the way to protect katara he couldn’t redirect it properly so he got injured
The best display of Zuko's precision was when he went on a date with the ba sing se girl and lit all the fountain lanterns with zero hesitation and remarkable speed. That still blows my mind to this day. So cool.
Honestly I would say his best precision feat was when he fought the Rough Rhinos and not only smacked an arrow out of the air but launched a small fireball through Vachir's bow and cut his string, it should be noted that he Vachir was skilled even amoungst the Yuyan archers before he was discharged and reassigned to the Rough Rhinos And unlike those candles he was in the middle of combat when he did this while his opponent was on top of a Komodo Rhino.
RaiMoi Cangmah and you can tell in his Agni Kai with Azula that he had transcended who he used to be earlier in the series. He was calm and was able to match Azula to the point where she slipped up and took a hit
Antonie bandele : zuko is unimpressive and incapable in his childhood Bruh ,just becouse he wasnt as strong as azula doesnt mean he was anything weak ,everyone is weak if theyre compared to azula its obvious ,i bet 6 yo zuko is far stronger than 6 yo mako ,more so if hes compared to kids firebender in general
@@m33a they did make a point of it in the show. In the flashbacks Zuko as a kid had no control over his fire, I think he set curtains ablaze or something. Even compared to other kids (not only azula) he was an unimpressive firebender kid. But that is one of the reasons Zuko is so amazing. Why it feels so amazing everytime he clashes with his sister, he has closed the gap just a little bit more. I firmly believe that 6yo Mako would bully 6yo Zuko, because 6yo Mako was just stronger. 19yo Zuko takes the cake easily. Mid to hard diff, but he takes it.
That happened in atla: *The gang shows without aang and Momo at the White Lotus Bumi:someone very important is not here.... Where's MOMO ? In conclusion Momo is the 2nd most powerful character the number 1 being the gabbage man
Don’t get me wrong zuko would merk mako but he wasn’t taught by dragons. The dragons just showed him the truth about fire bender and gave him his drive that he lost after he stopped wanting to capture aang.
How, Zuko: lost to azula several times, wouldve been destroyed by his dad, was destroyed by combustion man, beaten by s1 katara, beaten by aang several times Zuko: beat his 14 year old little sister only when she grew insane and shao Zuko: figured out he had anger issues intil dragons flew around his for what 20 seconds. Why are people trying to say thats a point Mako: lost to the strongest water bender that was alive during korra exept maybe korra and cant remember him getting beaten by anyone else, correct me if im wrong Mako: resisted bllood bending enough he lightning bent beating amon, in rematch destroyed the water bender, it was a 2 on 1 but him and his brother beat maybe the first lava bender, he easily took out full fledged metal mekk suits with lightening that zuko would have been destroyed by, Mako: figured out verik and that weird truth seer guy from season 3s plans and stopped them, detroyed koviras giant mekk suit Idk if its just me but i dont think it would be a blow out, i think if zuko lands the redirected lightning he would probably win but if mako could do one of his really fast lighting shocks or whatever while zuko is off balence he'd probably win. But in a 1 v 1 just fire off it would be a crazy battle would i think zuko than would win about maybe 6 out a 10 times
@Vince McMahon As well as from literal dragons. This guy (Zuko) was able to bend multi-colored flames in the comic preceding ATLA. He beat Azula, one of the greatest Firebenders of all time, and halted a Civil War after overthrowing his father in a 100 year war. How is this a competition? Lmao! He might actually beat Mako without bending. His swordplay would be enough.
@@ShadowGodOfDarkness Exactly. He was besting benders with just his swords. Mako got wrecked by equalists with stun rods, so obviously Zuko would already destroy the little dipshit just using his twinblades.
Let's not forget about his lineage on his mother's side. It turns out that Zuko was NOT the blood son of Fire Lord Ozai(which is why he was not as strong or even as great as Azula was in his early life. That being said, even as demented and twisted as the two because apparently it ran in the royal blood with the exception of Iroh and his late son). Zuko's mom had gotten pregnant by the local and best swordsman of her hometown which is partly why Zuko was so proficient when it can to swords and the like. His great grandfather on his mother's side was actually Avatar Roku which explains why his destiny is tied to Aangs'. Zuko has had a warrior's life from start to finish and has two sets of warriors blood(Roku and his real father) and not to mention he was trained and raised alongside Azula by Ozai and Iroh.
@@DonnieKing-KCD-QCA Nope. Ikem was not Zuko's father, Urza said so herself. She wished it was so, but it wasn't. The reason Zuko wasn't on Azula's level early in life was A. Because he was a late bloomer with willpower over talent, and B. Because he wasn't drilled as hard by Ozai to be the perfect soldier. He became capable of bending multi-colored flames eventually, surpassing even Azula. Ozai's blood is definitely there.
We have to give Mako more credit than a normal cop, he was at least comparable to something like a swat officer. Don’t get me wrong, Zuko is still way better. He was strong enough to serve as antagonist to the avatar, Mako could never do that, it would be a one- episode season.
No its the difference between a guy with daddy issues verses the hishest rate detective as well as the best fire probender or maybe just the best probender. Not only that but look at there historys. Mako has beaten amon (yeah with korra) beat the strongest water bender of all time, beat the strongest lava bender of all time (he was helping his brother) and had a very powerful howned in lighting that could take out mekka suits. Zuko on the other hand is like 80 years behind in the newsest fighting styles without being able to lightning bend period and mako if trained tho could also redirect it because he can aleredy make it. Didnt zuko also lose to katara, his sister who knows how many times and only "beat her" because she was going insane and in the comics she destroys him. He also would easily get out firebended by his dad he just got him once by surprising him. So i dont if its just me but it seems all he beat was shao. Great job zuko.
@@tendyboiz1046 @Tendy Boiz @Tendy Boiz Dude, you're only looking at feats. Not actual skill and it's no debate that Zuko is much more skilled than Mako. Sure, Mako can do some amazing things but so can Zuko. Yes Zuko beat a crazy Azula or rather Katarra did but something tells me Mako wouldn't stand a chance, whether he fought insane or sane Azula. And really, you're comparing probending to a Prince with actual warfare experience? Sorry but I wasn't aware that you could kill in probending. Anyway, what I said was the bare bones there are so many other comments that go into full on detail why Zuko would win so I suggest you read those, mine is just from the top of my head.
@@tendyboiz1046 Zuko didn’t only do that yes mako did some amazing things but all of those things were feats zuko was just better trained there’s no question about that if zuko had better bending the only thing mako can do is lighting which zuko can redirect and zuko is also faster if you want to see more points maybe watch the video or some other comments that go more in depth
Zuko: My dad hated me, and brutally attacked me, scarring me for life before banishing me from my home. I was only fourteen... Mako: *YeAh i gReW Up ON thE StREets.*
Momoi Eschenbach So what was the point of bringing up Azula beating Zuko's style by attacking a bystander? Especially if you're trying to promote Mako beating Zuko's style.
Even Zuko before Fire Dragon Dance was able to beat Admiral Level Fire benders with ease. Mako has no chance.. Plus Zuko is far better fighter and smarter.
Every atla team member is stronger than tLoK team member, except Korra, she can beat everybody cuz she's the avatar...Korra vs Aang would be an interesting fight to see
@@TheStraightestWhitest he did the fight already. In fact they would be on pretty even ground. The only edge to take Korra out was his avatar state. So no... He would not "curb stomp her" :)
I forget where I heard it, may have been one of the creators, but I heard that the "lightning bending" done by most characters in Legend of Korra isn't as powerful as the lightning bending in TLA. In TLA it's true Lightning, in LoK it's been modified to be more of an electric shock so that it's easier to produce and safer for Factory use.
I wouldn't Expect the electricians in Legend of Korra to Produce as Powerful Lightings as Ozai Azula Or Iroh The Technique may be taught but Very few will be able to Master it and i Doubt they would be working as Electricians
Makos was strong enough to take out full fledged mekk suits but yeah iguess iroh woukd win but like cmon everyine would lose tp iroh excelr like katara would beat him
No it's not, the official forum says both of them are the same. You have to re-checked it from the official. Not giving any hate but in lightning bending, he can bend more efficient and still has the same level of destruction and power compare to any other lighting bending in ATLA.
I think the TRUE deciding factor that places Zuko FAR above Mako is that he was trained by UNCLE IROH, a wise old a**-kicking, barista, general, dragon-made-flesh, father-of-the century awardee who ultimately pulled an Enoch and shed his mortal form to live forever in the spirit world as a spirit guide to Future Avatars and Firelords for eternity. *mic drop*
Why is this a thing? Zuko was raised with the best teachers, given any resource and all the reasons to be the best firebender. (Cough cough...ignoring his sister's "talents") he was a prince for God's sake. They groom you for the possibility of maybe leading the entire nation one day you know. Then after he was exiled he only got stronger. It was literally the best thing that could happen to his firebending ability. He had to be smart, creative and subtle with his ability while on his adventures with iroh, another extremely above average firebending master. Top all that off with an exquisite visit the the original firebending dragons and you have one badass hot cake. Mako was raised in a below average upbringing and he played some competitive bending games. Woo. Sure the whole series made him stronger too, but his overall development on his journey with korra is vastly overshadowed by zukos development journey with aang. There's just no way there's a shadow of a doubt. It's like a lion versus a kitty cat. Ugh
I guess Zuko is highly underestimated because he's contactly being compared to his little sister, who is a prodigy. With all the facts you put together there you can definitely conclude Zuko's way more than an average bender. Exile made him stronger and with no less than his uncle Iroh (brother to Ozai, hello!) to train him. What he can't do with firebending, he makes up with physical strength and agility and more. He beat Zhao, who was considered a master. That's gotta count for something. And should all fail in the worst case, then he still has those twin dao blades to fall back on. Iroh, Piandao. Some of the best teachers out there. And like you said, he's the prince of the Fire Nation so he was probably groomed from an early age and exposed to only the best. Though that was most likely after Lu ten died. The only reasons Zuko truly started to shine lateron in the series, was because he let go of all pent up rage and conflict and he actually started to listen to himself and others, and not his dad. However, even from the start of the series we can see Zuko excells most of the other firebenders. Mako can't hold a candle (no pun intended lol) to this guy.
Honestly, I just feel like the older benders were better. But, not cause Im a die hard Aang fan. It was their style. Korra's time? They even pointed it on early chapters. Bolin was saying how Korra would get knocked out of the arena too fast cause of her stance and taught her to jab. That's the thing. Korra's time was basically boxing. Aang's time was true martial arts and felt like they were "bending". Korra's, I felt like they were just tossing their elements around. For example, there are tons of fights in Last Airbender that were great. Even small fights (like zuko fighting aang ontop of the well). Legend of Korra? Not so much imo. I loved when we 1v3 the pro benders with her airbending movements. But even that didn't happen often later on.
during aangs time they were using bending attacks that could level cities. Remember bumi's breakout. Or aang's avatr state. The last fight scenes showed how powerful the benders really were when they took out armies of fire bendersm
DiamondTowers Ebalo Bumi was an exceptionally powerful bender by either show's standards. Avatar State is, well, the Avatar State. Hardly a normal bender. When retaking Ba Sing Se the firebenders were enhanced massively by the comet City level bending was hardly the norm in Aang's time. The only bender to really show it was Bumi. Everyone else would have to be amped.
+Paul F I remember reading your comments in a thread where they had this big list; that compared similar things in the star wars universe to the avatar universe. Do you remember that?? It was like a month ago. What happened to that thread? It was on one of these many avatar "vs" korra youtube video comment sections, and you were in the thread. If you remember or have a link, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to read that list again!
@@pranavraja9045 Eh, not exactly a difficult thing considering the B-Grade chemistry that group had. I swear four seasons and I really don't buy that the Korra group even liked each other. Really if not for Tenzin and family the show would have no heart at all.
I don't even know why people are kidding themselves. Zuko would dominate in a fight with Mako. Mako is by no means a bad fire-bender, but Zuko has been put into a bunch of different situations where he has had to use his fire-bending in different ways. So he uses his bending in an unconventional and unique way. Plus he's a freaking tank, he comes at you with all he's got and never stops. And let's not forget that Zuko was deemed worthy by the Masters AND that he can redirect lighting. Plus, when he grows up, he has a dragon and a badass goatee. Your argument is invalid.
+Manicallaughter17 Mako's been put in a bunch of different situations as well. Mako can also redirect lightning He does in fact get a dragon and a badass goatee
Zuko: My dad brutally attacked me, my mom abandoned me, my sister belittled me as a prodigy my entire life, and I was banished from my own home only at age 14, having to look for the avatar to reclaim my honor as a sense of lost hope... Mako: ... *That's rough buddy*
mako lightening bending was very impressive but zuko character was just so real and emotional that no other fire bender will come close to his fire bending for me i truely believe that zuko is like a phoenix
Redirecting lightning is actually more useful than generating it. Sure, it's nice to be able to kill your enemy in a single blow. But, if the target can redirect lighting, the attacker is screwed.
Katara's a peasant girl, yet she bested Azula, the Fire Nation princess in the catacombs. Mako's so much more than a homeless cop (he's not even homeless)
+Paul F Trained by THE best water bending master around, learned blood bending, best healers around. Accompanied and can put the avatar in his place, grudge matches with one of the two greatest earth bender at the time. Peasant?
Imagine if Mako blasted Zuko with lightning and Zuko redirected and Mako redirected back and Zuko redirected back and Mako directed back and Zuko directed back and Mako directed it back and Zuko just moved to the side making the lightning hit the wall.
I wouldn't necessarily say new school bending completely washes out old school bending. I think in the case of Mako vs Zuko, its a self-taught, advanced level student vs a master. Mako just never needed to become a master like Zuko, most people in Korra times never did, in fact. Kuvira really showcases the best example of how a modern style of bending (metal bending) could be just as devastating in its own right once mastered just like old school once mastered. Korra herself has shown a blend of old and new could be effective against both styles. I actually hope if they make another show for the next Avatar, or anything more about Korra's time as a fully realized Avatar, we can see a mastered form of this blend. Also, imagine if Iroh trains Korra more in fire bending somehow, she'd be even more of a beast
@@Fransie93 Yeah, I was going to say, that could be an actually interesting match. Mako vs Zuko on the otherhand is just pure insanity to even try compare.
Tien 3ashien TOPH INVENTED METAL BENDING. If she was in her prime still and discovered lava bending she would still beat Bolin because only the avatar could lava bend until they decided earth could do it too
Zuko would win its just these die hard atla fans that thinks zuko would throw one fire ball and win when zuko actually has a much worse record and cant lightning bend so im guessing whoever lands lightning wins
Zuko grew up fighting during a war. He was Son of Fire Lord Ozi and the crown prince of the fire nation trained by not only the best teachers the Fire Nation had but also his uncle the legendary Dragon of the West Iroh. Mako was a pro bender turned cop. Why is this even a question?
@MansaMusa True enough, growing up in a war doesn't necessarily mean much. But they did specifically mention grew up FIGHTING during a war. Fair enough, most of the fighting was training, but training to be a warrior, and did also end up actually fighting in/during the war.
Zuko is literally on a whole different level then Mako. It literally is a highly trained Navy Seal vs. a highly trained police officer, there is just no comparison I personally don't think Mako would last longer then a minute.
11DaltonB You missed my point, though perhaps Toph wasn't the best example. Katara would be better. Dismissing Mako as "just a cop" would be like dismissing Katara as "just a peasant girl." Both have grown and developed, gone up against some of the best benders in the world, and simply dismissing either one because of their status isn't doing justice to either character.
+Paul F no, you missed his point. He's saying that Zuko was really well trained in a war environment. And traveling with the avatar doesn't make him stronger. Compare someone training his whole life in war with some criminal/police. Saying toph is just a blind girl that plays with dirt is completely different from what he is saying.
DD dancer Fighting alongside the Avatar in wars and against some of the most dangerous benders in the world is gonna help Mako get stronger and better. Toph was a blind girl who lived a sheltered life and occasionally fought in some earthbending competitions. She didn't have any wartime training, yet she was an amazing earth bender-better than any of the earthbending soldiers or generals we saw. My point is that just looking at the character's background isn't enough. You have to look at their feats. I'm not saying Mako's better than Zuko, but saying it's not even close isn't doing Mako justice.
Wow you make it sound like Zuko had a comfy life in the castle, no he was taunted and bullied by azula, he lost his mother, his father saw him as a disappointment, he was scarred by his own father, in no way, shape or form, do I ever consider mako to be even slightly better
being banished and scarred is what made zuko strong. Zuko was born with no talent. without the drive to be accepted by his father by capturing the most powerful being across all 4 nations, Zuko wouldn't be nearly the bender he turned out to be in the end of the war. I feel like zuko could beat fully sane Azula tbh in an agni kai.
Talon Apex zuko actually said himself that he can’t beat azula alone which is why he went to face her with katara.however, he noticed that she went insane which completely shattered her wits and focus thus making him able to beat her
One TINY correction. Zuko did not unintentionally disrespect that general. He straight out called him a fool to his face. The problem was these general's were hand picked by his father who possessed an inferiority complex due to always being outshined by Iroh. Ozai, Zuko's dad grew angry at Zuko for some stupid reason, thinking that Zuko challenging his generals meant he was challenging Ozai himself and faced Zuko in Agni Kai.
Well duh, Zuko took up swordsmanship when he was little and grew up to be a master, while Mako hasnt even touched a sword before. So of over he'd beat Mako with his swords alone, you're comparing a master to a complete rookie or newbie
Roy would win in an instance. Don't you see how much fire he can make? And if Zuko threw a fireball or lightning bolt to him, He could just someone a wall quickly since he opened the portal of truth.
Mako is fast and agile, but Zuko is just pure power. He bends much like his father, large plumes of Fire. He also followed Iroh’s teaching, using the philosophy of the other three elements in his fighting style. He used water bending styles to redirect lightning from Ozai, he defended himself from Azula like an earth bender, and in LoK, he dodged Ghazan’s attacks like an airbender.
Sokka: [about the three-eyed assassin] Hey, I got it. The perfect name for that guy, Combustion Man. Toph: Good job, Sokka. Now let's get out of here before Combustion Man catches us. Sokka: See? It fits so well.
@@AntoineBandele hello Antoine! I love watching your videos. Could you by any chance tell me the name of that intro music you used in this video? I have been hunting for it but I can’t remember where I first heard it. Thanks!
Zuko is obviously the winner. He had better training and his firebending moves were more deadly. Plus, he had the dragons' wisdom and plenty of experience in fighting Azula. If Azula hadn't played dirty and tried to shoot Katara with the lightning, Zuko would have won the agni kai much quicker. He was calm and controlled. If you had Mako fight Azula, he would be dead in a few seconds, with or without the comet.
@@blade5445 Sokka I think. Asami only mastered one weapon, electric gloves. While Sokka has mastered more than just 1 weapon. And, Sokka is a tactical genius in battle
You’re other two points are true but technically he wasn’t trained by dragons, the dragons just showed him what true fire bending was and gave him back his drive for fire bending after he lost it.
@@cypr7120 Mako would be working with Fire, an element that could easily be avoided should Zuko only opt for his swords. Hard rocks, on the other hand, would be quite difficult to dodge and deflect with thin bits of steel. Plus, an Earth Kingdom Captain would outrank a street urchin in skill any day! Mako is most definitely not comparable to the Dai Li or an Earth Kingdom General, just look at how easily he's been defeated before.
Fun fact: Zuko has above average hearing and can hold his breath for longer than average and in episode The Avatar State Iroh said they had survived three weeks without food or water
Aren't you exaggerating? Wrecked Zhao? Sure, not exactly hard match really. Ozai? When? With just one re-direction that took him a tad by surprise? Azula? When she was out of her minds and not exactly thinking straight? Does not really count, not to mention she handed him his butt again in the comic books. His redirection of lighting is pointless against her now. Don't get me wrong, Zuko is a power beast and will destroy Mako. Mako has no chance.
Antoine Bandele I Always Liked Him Though, I Feel Like Although He Is In No Way The Protagonist He Is Still Heavily Developed And In Some Ways His Story Is Relatable For People
+Heiliger Jesus He Was Pretty Good, But He Wasn't Relatable, That Is What Put Zuko Higher For Me. I Do Admit That I Nearly Cried In The Tales Of Bah Sing Se Episode, I Thought It Was Going To End On A Good Note, But I Was Wrong😢😢
Zuko easily defeats mako, zuko is a master swordsman, zuko trained the avatar and was trained by the avatar, aang taught zuko how to be more quick and agile, zuko is the prince of fire nation and was trained by the dragon of the west (iroh, his uncle), mako wasn't even stronger that zuko's grandson.
ZUKO Zuko : I don’t need luck though ,I’ve always had to struggle and fight and that made me strong ....it made me who I am I’m not even going to side with zuko only because of his superior skill over mako but because zuko is one of my favorite characters and he has a special place in my heart because of his story arc his scar and everything about him
Why are all the kids in the avatar universe so much better at bending and fighting than the fuming guards? Like seriously even sokka is able to take on multiple guards and he never received any training like how shitty can u be at your job?
+ChessieTea Akatsushi well yes but only a very small amount his dad least when he was 9 or 8 I think so at max he had lik6 years of basic training and some of the guards are on very high level ships(general zhows) like da fuqh m8
+ChessieTea Akatsushi I absolutely love avatar but the thing with the guards is the only thing that I don't like because I ALWAYS noticed it. Like how bad can you be at your job for real?
Honestly, I never had a moment's doubt that Zuko would win. Mako was certainly very strong and skilled in his environment and context, but matched up against Zuko it simply would not be enough. I also feel that his stoicism and cautious approach ultimately hinders him, when firebending is SO lacking in defense and actually relies on an unrelenting offense to achieve maximum efficiency. He pulled himself too much in the opposite direction.
Another thing to note is that fire bending comes from the breath as well, something Zuko always ignored and didn’t pay attention to. In the last fight with Azula you can see that it’s Azula running tired and out of breath and Zuko calm and collected with excellent breath control. That’s something Mako doesn’t have complete control over. Zuko could win an endurance fight as well if it came to it, tiring Mako out.
the way it was shot, the beautiful visuals, the music, the fraught emotions, the climax of these siblings' personal arcs.....ugh, it was just so superior. PERFECT show.
+Skylingale there is no real or fake, the fact that supposed fans keep this idea up is actually misrepresenting the whole point and teachings of the Avatar series - looking at characters without time and context is to purposefully ignore the difference in situation and need
Everyone talking about Zuko kickin his ass while I'm just sitting here imagining the two fighting together. Now they would kick ass. If they knew each other they'd be great friends, for their similar personalities would get along easily. Let's not forget that Mako, a loyal member of the new Team Avatar, bowed down in respect when he met Lord Zuko. Leader of the Fire Nation, founder of Republic City, and one of the saviours of the world
It honestly wouldn't be a close fight. The time Mako spend on the force and as a pro bender would count as a disadvantage, for he'd train his mind and body to fight according to impractical rules. Zuko was trained in times of war, he fights not to capture the bad guy, and not to score points, but to win. A balanced fighting style helps when you bend a balanced element, but fire bending is an offencive style. Cool under pressure might help you when you have to limit the strength of your attacks and are outnumbedered during a bending match. But it'd hinder you in an Agni kai. Zuko was capable of quick and precise fire bending (lighting the laterns in Ba Sing Say, during his tale). But he'd never use that in battle, because that's not the strength of fire bending. (Water bending is more about precission and speed). Mako was forced to train to use precession and speed, because as a cop and as a pro bender his attacks were not allowed to be as powerful as they could be. And you mistake being fit with being in pike condition. Mako was always fit, but Zuko was always at pike condition. The difference between a guy who regularly goes to the gym and an active olympic athlete.
@@tendyboiz1046 You're telling me a child of Ozai would be a slacker, especially when he has a sister like Azula and grew up in a time of war? With the feats he has as the Blue Spirit, dual-wielding broadswords, there's no way he wasn't maintaining a peak condition.
Zuko is Brutal and Has the Ancient Cold Power of Fire Bending ... Mako is juts the MMA Fighter of Fire Bending, I believed that he can Control Lightning. So True Form of Fire Vs. Modern Work.
This would no way be that close. EoS all of Team Avatar became masters in their art. Able to stand with the very best. Mako is outclassed by way too many people to be put on the same level as a master like Zuko.
***** When we compare the two series, Aang's team were facing off against opponents looking to kill them at a very young age. Team Korra's enemies lacked the same lethal edge until Season 3, and they were already much older. That said. There is a noticable difference in the output of bending power. Team Korra didn't have the same pure power Team Aang has, often relying on efficiency and precision to win instead of being able to contend with their opponents in terms of strength. Even Avatar Wan had far bigger output when it came to his Fire and Air attacks and maneouvers in comparison to Korra. The focus of Korra era bending is technique, while pre Korra era had a balance of training technique and harnessing their chi.
+1Invinc: really? i'm pretty sure everyone in lok was way more lethal than anyone in atla besides maybe ozai and maybe azula before she went bat shit (relativele, haha). and even then, he was more lethal based on pure buildup and the assist of souzin's comet more so than what we know of his actual bending ability.
rj graddy Ozai was the most powerful fire bender at the time. A true master. Only his brother even had a chance to defeat him. His actual bending ability without the comet is easily on par if not better than most of the final villains in Korra's time. With the comet he is ten times as powerful.
rj graddy Generally, I felt most of Korra's enemies weren't actually out to kill her in the traditional sense. Amon was out to subdue her and discredit the Avatar by making a spectacle rather than outright killing her. Unalaq and Zaheer's true target was the Avatar Spirit, resulting in complex plots rather than actually trying to kill Korra. Kuvira's focus was conquest of the Earth Kingdom rather than specifically targetting the Avatar. In fact, killing the Avatar would have provoked the other nations into direct war, she was really looking to discredit Korra by humiliating her in combat. Aang's enemies on the other hand were mostly out for blood. Also, Aang's enemies were soldiers trained for war and have been killing for over a century. Korra's enemies were mostly disgruntled civilians turned cultists/extremists.
No, lol, you're not. Its like a self taught street fighter going up against a professional martial artist that's had many, many series combat experience. Its that same mentality within this. ATLA was full of professionals with war combat expeience under their belts. LOK was just street fighting boxers.
Toph would win hands down. Hell, she practically kicked Korra's ass when Toph was 86. Also, Asami was one of my favorite characters, but she and Sokka are not comparable. Bolin was supposed to be the Sokka-like character in Legend of Korra.
"That's who you are Zuko. Someone who keeps fighting even though it's hard" is not a quote from Zuko, but his mom Ursa. I believe she said this to him after his firebending display to Azulon went badly, and she wanted to cheer him up. He only thought about it during the episode "Zuko Alone", when he was fighting the men bullying the earth kingdom town
A firelord related to the last fire nation avatar with exceeding martial arts and sword arts training taught by the dragons that created fire bending and worked alongside who I consider the most powerful avatar (Aang) vs a formerly homeless fire bender who was taught by gang members
+Eric VL Prabably, Zuko was fighting evenly with her way during his time with the avatar. I'd say since him meeting the dragons he surpasses her slightly. Her mental break down made it easier. It'd be a tough battle but since he was pretty much even with her if it were truly 1 v 1 he'd end up killing Azula with redirecting her lightning.
If Katara hadn't been there he wouldn't have needed to throw himself in front of her to protect her from the lightening. When Azula and Zuko were fighting alone, Zuko had the edge. And Azula had just gobe fucking insane.
+ShadeSlayer1911 At the end of book 3 Zuko fought Azula equally in both confrontations before the last one. I would say they were about equal. Her unstable mind tipped the favor into Zuko's court.
You are comparing a Martial Arts Master to a Police officer and an Athlete.... Those 2 Are so far apart..... I will only point out 1 instance of Zuko's proficiency with martial arts. In the episode in book 3, in the Ember island events, at the party, he punched this guy from almost touching distance and tossed him to the other side of the room. and he was only 16!!! Zuko and Mako are not even comparable... Zuko wouldn't even have to bend. He would just supress any fire attack that comes at him, go at him imobilize him and just burn him on the spot.... And yes, as a master martial artist, he can easily immobilize someone specific hits.It wouldn't even be a fight. It's like comparing Saitama to Boros.... Spoiler alert, Saitama didn't even try...

So cool.
Honestly I would say his best precision feat was when he fought the Rough Rhinos and not only smacked an arrow out of the air but launched a small fireball through Vachir's bow and cut his string, it should be noted that he Vachir was skilled even amoungst the Yuyan archers before he was discharged and reassigned to the Rough Rhinos

Zuko is royalty. His father was the greatest fire bender during the war and his maternal great grandfather was the unparalleled firebending avatar
@@TheStraightestWhitest Zuko learned from Piandao. He'll rip Mako apart.
“Difference between a Navy Seal and a best cop” yup sounds accurate.
Paul St. Marie did you mean beat cop

And he was also trained by the dragons... that counts for something
a**kicking barista cool😎😂
And the dragons
Ugh
ikr? no i like both, but damn is mako out classed when compared to zuko.

Pro bending was more boxing based, sure, but outside of pro bending it's far more traditional
during aangs time they were using bending attacks that could level cities.
When retaking Ba Sing Se the firebenders were enhanced massively by the comet
City level bending was hardly the norm in Aang's time. The only bender to really show it was Bumi. Everyone else would have to be amped.

Yep
Facts, the old bending was more effective.

Nah
Y'all underestimating mako
Zuko is literally on a whole different level then Mako. It literally is a highly trained Navy Seal vs. a highly trained police officer, there is just no comparison I personally don't think Mako would last longer then a minute.
After journeying with the Avatar for years Mako is more than just a cop. That's like saying Toph is just a blind girl who can play with dirt
+Paul F But Toph was that strong before she even met the avatar... so not really.
This video should be just 10 Second.
Of course Zuko will win, he's a beast.
Not true
TheMrKingmenow no it’s true
Not true. It should've been just 4.
Wow you make it sound like Zuko had a comfy life in the castle, no he was taunted and bullied by azula, he lost his mother, his father saw him as a disappointment, he was scarred by his own father, in no way, shape or form, do I ever consider mako to be even slightly better
Zuko is totally the winner. Mako is not as trained as Zuko.
being banished and scarred is what made zuko strong. Zuko was born with no talent. without the drive to be accepted by his father by capturing the most powerful being across all 4 nations, Zuko wouldn't be nearly the bender he turned out to be in the end of the war. I feel like zuko could beat fully sane Azula tbh in an agni kai.
@@dacyn yaaas
@@talonapex9775 I agree with everything but that last sentence.
Ozai, Zuko's dad grew angry at Zuko for some stupid reason, thinking that Zuko challenging his generals meant he was challenging Ozai himself and faced Zuko in Agni Kai.
is this even a question :')

Featuring Dante From The Devil May Cry Series zuko can redirect his lighting
Mako is fast and agile, but Zuko is just pure power. He bends much like his father, large plumes of Fire. He used water bending styles to redirect lightning from Ozai, he defended himself from Azula like an earth bender, and in LoK, he dodged Ghazan’s attacks like an airbender.

Jacob Findlay well zuko wasnt that relatable too and iroh was the most interesting character for me
Zuko is the coolest avatar character, he has the best story line.

Why are all the kids in the avatar universe so much better at bending and fighting than the fuming guards? Like seriously even sokka is able to take on multiple guards and he never received any training like how shitty can u be at your job?
Sokka must've had some training when he used to live in the water tribe, but I agree with you. The guards always seem to be the weakest in the show
+ChessieTea Akatsushi well yes but only a very small amount his dad least when he was 9 or 8 I think so at max he had lik6 years of basic training and some of the guards are on very high level ships(general zhows) like da fuqh m8

+ChessieTea Akatsushi I absolutely love avatar but the thing with the guards is the only thing that I don't like because I ALWAYS noticed it. Like how bad can you be at your job for real?
box 8 news in the Saturday ikr XD it's like there was no one else to hire for guards
Mako is a great firebender. Zuko is a master. Nocontest.
I remember the final battle with Azula. My hairs were standing up the whole scene.
the way it was shot, the beautiful visuals, the music, the fraught emotions, the climax of these siblings' personal arcs.....ugh, it was just so superior. PERFECT show.

When we compare the two series, Aang's team were facing off against opponents looking to kill them at a very young age.

+Eric VL That was only cuz she went insane. If she was level-headed like she normally was, she probably would've beaten him
ShadeSlayer1911 yea you have a point :D
