3:06 -- this easter egg was so close to being exposed back when hackers dumped the audio files and found the Metroid screech sound effect, but it still took a few years until fans finally found it. My favorite bug/feature from development still hasn't been found by the public, and I'm wondering how many years it'll take to be discovered :)
@@ShinyTurkey I certainly wouldn't recommend making a hobby out of it! Some things (like the 'Super Punch-Out!!' bit) can take a good deal of reverse-engineering to uncover.
I really wish this was more common. The TV lighting up with special Christmas-y visual effects, it just creates a nice atmosphere in the room that sticks in your mind.
I've been part of the NiGHTS community since 2008. It's been one of my favorite games of all time since then, as well. Something about NiGHTS' level menu theme always felt like Christmas, even with the Home Alone sample aside. It feels so ethereal, warm and calming, perfect for the Christmas season.
MIND BLOWN!! I’ve had Nights since 96 and always loved the ambient voices in the background. To find out they’re from Home Alone 25 years later is a shocker! Thanks for this!

About the Tox Box thing; if you knock them into normal sandy ground (I think not the dark quicksand?) they get stuck in the ground at strange angles. They’ve still got their collision when that happens, only they’re all slanted now
I'm imagining Wario saying his line from Wario World "Have a ROTTEN DAY!" while I'm thinking of Wario punching that box enemy to death in Mario 64 DS shown in this video

Funny you mention the one for NieR, because I just picked up Automata on Switch during the holiday sales and I never tried the code on the PS4 version, but since I had to start over on Switch anyway, I figured I'd give it a shot to see if it worked on Switch and low and behold it does! Worth noting you have to input it using the dpad though, not the control stick.
Dude, that Pokémon Puzzle Challenge/Panel de Pon GB bit blew my mind! Had to try it on my old cartridge and it most definitely worked. You guys just missed one input to get to the error screen on a GBC. It's Up (2x), Right (4x), Down, Left (10x), Up (4x), Right, Down (6x), B. Who knew one of my favorite games when I was little had a secret buried deep within it all this time?
I remember learning about the Scarab gun from X Play on G4 so many years ago. Took hours to do it myself and it was so cool. Halo 2 became a game i would try to break and get out if bounds using skulls for other possible secrets
Aw yeah, I knew about those Halo 2 secrets. My friend showed me them way back in the day and we had a crazy time going through all that rigamarole to get the scarab gun. It's so fun. He also showed me how to get to that big football hidden in the level too. We named it Claire.

I believe you should have it by default, it's one of the non score skulls on the right side of the selection screen
