@@chrisrohls4853 As all things said, only with the right company brother, you'll get those game companies that don't make it, lose out on budget or just will end worse for you than better, but in terms of truckin' you got the same deal good or bad either you make it or you struggle. But I’m again I’m with you because I’m actually one of those people that likes to watch others stream or videos but eventually that’s gonna run out for me ya know? I won’t be doing that forever and I don’t even pay or donate $ so maybe it’s just me but I’d imagine the same for others they’ll eventually stop spending all that time and $ on someone else playing

I wanted to say daddy's money then I remembered that I come from a trucking family, I'm 4th generation. I bought my first truck from my uncle at 21, a 1989 Pete 362, for 7k bucks. I didn't go to a trucking school, so I guess I was spoiled by some standards. 25 yrs out here and I will die of a broken heart when I can't do it anymore.
I wrote it out then deleted it after i watched the video
17 and already into trucks, I love that. I grew up around trucks from the time I was 2 years old and spent an entire year on the road and then throughout my life so I been obsessed with trucking my entire life but never actually had any experience with them until I was 20 and started hauling heavy construction equipment in the Army. Now I'm 25 and cant wait to do it in the real world soon when I get out but this kid is way ahead of my schedule lol.

I first got in the driver seat when I was 14 I’m 18 now just passed my cdl permit and now going to do my inspections and behind the wheel
You get nerves but enjoy the experience, if you study hard youll get it at the 1st try, me & my brother got it at the first try on the same day! Was a good experience!

there is a 6 week truck driving school program and a 20 month program in my area- I wasnt impressed with the 20 month program- felt like a sales gimmick more than anything. I dont get how you can test for a CDL with such drastic differences in learning time
Shit... there's a "school" in West Virginia called CDL Assist that offers a 3 DAY program

I was going to say that he can't be 17 first off. Can't even get a CDL. I had mine at 18. I don't know what insurance company is going to insurance a 17 yr old. Now once he turns 18, go and get as much money young sir as you want. Even if you can't cross state lines yet. You are definitely on your way and it's still a proud moment. I'm not hating on you but I know at 17 you can't have a CDL. Keep at though, and never stop being open to learning new things within the industry.

@@ericpreuss5849 Ive heard of this before, one of my old Foremans said in his little town they didn't care if it was agricultural use. So he'd take the truck and use FFA as his loophole.
“Farmers permit” was 14 but you had to be doing farm chores and I think daylight hours a few kids threw a couple sacks of seed corn in back of pickup and went to school, not sure on a bigger truck though might be 16 might be 14 on that too, not sure

I started swamping on a winch truck when I was 10, I started driving them out in the field when I was 13, and I was able to get my Class A license when I was 16, then started driving them down the highway. 39 years later I’m still driving trucks down the road, I gave up on winch trucks in the 90’s, they’re too much work.
Who insured you at 16?? How’d you get a class A at 16. I started in 84’ insurance wouldn’t touch you till 26 interstate.
@@fuzzybutkus3951 My father had a trucking/construction company I was added to the company insurance policy as a driver/operator, it cost $15 per month . In Wyoming I took a 20 question test for car’s and took another 20 question test for trucks, my mother that had held a Chauffeurs license for more than 4 years, signed a piece of paper stating that I could drive a truck. Then I drove around the block with the driving instructor, in a 79 Chevy pickup, had my picture taken and I had a Chauffeur Class A license good for Intrastate in the state of Wyoming.
Also here in Wyoming a person still doesn’t need any type of license to drive a horse.

I got my CDL when I was 18, 1 year ago. Me and my dad had big plans. I could drive a semi better then Most company drives. But I was not able to go outta state bc I was not 21. And intrastate loads just don't pay. So I ended up driving oversizes trusses down the road 19 year old hauling 16 foot wide trusses down the road is safer then an otr trucker in the eyes of the government. And I was only paid 1.75 a mile and I had to take all the expenses of the truck outa that. If I did it again I would wait till I turn 21. But if you got good paying load go for it. Just make sure you do.

Man if you didn't have to be 21 to cross state lines I'd already been out trucking 2 years ago! I start in 9 weeks and I grew up around my dad's Peterbilts.. When I went through trucking school that all was just second nature to me. I'm excited to finally get out, it's just a shame things are taking a turn for the worst sooner or later for my age.. But I'll enjoy it while I still can! It's a dream to own a 379 like my dad used to drive and be an O/O. I know it's not quite the same but I don't need to be rich like an ice road driver, if I can make enough to afford property and some toys for myself in the shop I'm set.

Back in the late 60’s a friend of mine a couple of doors up didn’t like school. We were both 15 at the time. His dad put him in the truck and taught him how to drive it out on the road. That was 50 years ago and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s still driving his own truck.

In the old days of spring ride it was done bc it helped with comfort. But now days it's done as something people see as cool. I mean if I had that much frame I would use it up with sleeper. But to each there own.
