If the Remind DLC didn't existed, KH3 wouldv'e have been a waste of effort, cause this freaking game was over 8 YEARS in making, and somehow it manage too be less good as KH2, not to be complain, but.. KH3 have been much better, and even longer. But atleast it not mid or just bad compair to the rest of the series (Besides KH2, KH1 and COM GBA version), seriously.. Kingdom Hearts only has 4 decent or good enough games in the franchises, the others suffer from very stupid issues, that's why am making a list. Good and Decent tier: KH1, KH2, KH3, KHCOM(GBA): We all know them, we all loved them, these are the perfect exemple of how you make a good Kingdom Hearts, am also including the GBA version of COM, cause i think this is the game that imply the he most well kingdom in a handle system. Mid tier: KHDDD, KHBBS, KH356D: They all have great stories (specially 356D) but they lack from the same issues, and they are every forgetten. BBS0.2 tier: I don't really care about anything that happen in BBS0.2, besides that Mickey lost his shirt because of the heartless raid, lol. Other than kh3 being too easy and some worlds feeling like they were cut down a bit like twilight town it was good. The short story also makes more sense since it’s war times kh2 was less time sensitive
@@depressedwatermelon411 you're right, kh3 was so easy my first playthrough i immediately went for critical and only had issues in the first few worlds. however the story is so horridly bad, convoluted, boring and stale dialogue, anime noises... not to mention some of the worlds felt unchanged to their disney counterpart (sora didn't have much of an actual role to play). a sad experience, and i liked even CoM
Tbh, I still can't understand the whole lore of kingdom hearts even so I played all the games. I loved them but I still can't understand anything lol. KH2 and 358/2 made me cry but the whole story and lore-wise of kingdom hearts, I just can't understand anything lol.
You won't the story is really inconsistent, basic and just a chore to keep together. The gameplay is the selling point. People like the heartfelt moments.
It is hard to understand but not super difficult. I will try to tell the tale but im not the best Translator of someone else's work. So here I go. I will be talking very genetic as details of the keyblade get explained in different games in different ways. Kh1 is pretty simple, world gets swallowed by darkness thanks to ansem all 3 protagonist are keyblade worthy but only Sora out of the goodness of his heart gets a keyblade. (Lot's of people saying it's Rikus forgetting Sora himself being worthy by choice of the keyblade not a master like Riku chosen by terra and Kairy by Aqua). Kh1 is about the journey so you get real full keyblades from world's Which later on gets changed. Story wise the most important plot points are these. Malifcent is looking for something. Gets used by heartless Ansem that malifcent puts in Riku. Some where here Riku unlocks his keyblades potential within darkness unlocking a dark keyblade though his potential in light allows him to steal Sora 's keyblade because Sora was wavering. Princesses of hearts get kidnapped and freed by Sora by unlocking his heart to free Kairy creating Sora 's darkness (i will get back to that) thanks to Kairy Sora damaged light infused heart returns closer to normal beings of light, Sora purifies the core of hollow bastion. Allowing people to return. Heartless Ansem is looking for the door of darkness that turns out to be light. Ansem is defeated, Riku and Mikey already trapped in the world of darkness close the door on their side to seal the door of light once more. That would be the general gist of kh1. I can't fully explain 358/2 and chain of memories fully but will try my best. Sora and friends find castle oblivion and get tricked to stay there where the nobodies extract Sora's Memories thought namine (kairy her nobody) and they created xion (from memories of sora mostly feelings for Kairy explaining her looks) The husk of Sora gets saved by Riku and ansem the white. Riku struggling with his darkness. Mean time, Xion and Roxas both nobodies of sora are working heart until they must return to Sora the story is Great but this is just the general gist. Sora awakens thanks to everyones help but darkness has now fully settled in Sora's completed heart (shadow drive) Now Sora must fight between the heartless and nobodies. Increasing his strength. Though seeing conflicts of light and dark everywhere. This game it gets explained the keyblade morphs to suite the Keychain* Drives are thought up but later changed to keyblade power instead of power of clothes. But during this all Sora's darkness grows. They fight the orientation, Riku returns fully to the light and the organization is defeated returning all the nobodies to human form. Hollow bastion becomes radiant garden again. BbS Back to the past to Terra Ventus and Aqua. They fought a more primordial darkness the reversed. Long story short the story is Very similar to Sora Riku for ventus and Terra. Terra gets groomed for darkness like Sora but gets consumed by it like Riku. Ventus his heart is splits spawning vanitas. (Sora look a like cause Ying Yang I guess) They must fight to forge the x-blade. Ventus weakened looses his heart and finds safety in the pure heart of Sora. Aqua saves terra's body from drowning in shadows disappearing from the world of light. That's basically birth by sleep. It's also here that malifcent learns of other worlds and the keyblade. 3d Rank of mastery for Riku and Sora. Xenorth revives. Sora almost gets swallowed by his darkness and loses his powers. Riku becomes a master of light. Kh3 Sora must find his way back to light the more you play and longer the better he reconnects to lights as at some point your no longer getting the attractions just the keyblade morphs. Once he returns to light the battle starts now it truly gets confusing but that's the point. They don't want to explain every power of light yet. So let's try to break it down. The party technically dies 2 times during this conflict. 1 . They get destroyed by the orb. Sora gets restructured in the realm of light. In which he then gets sent back in time to prevent disaster. Allowing the will of Terra (lingering Will)to show up. Then they can reconstruct Roxas in turn freeing ventus after that Sora reaches his potential finally being normal again. Still dealing with the darkness but finding power in it. Now they fail again and Sora over uses and abuses the power of waking for his friends for another max revival. (Signing his own doom) They defeat darkness and win. Sora's disappearing at the end. (Confirmed via trailer kh4 actually dying from his actions) I would suppose these are the core bits you need to understand the story.
Played kh1 as a kid, kh2 as a teen, those were simple and good times. One of my favorite ps2 games. When i played kh3 as an adult, it just felt different. It was lackluster. Im not sure if its the game itself or if I grew up out of it. Lol
I legit almost dropped the series as a whole, despite being a fan of it for over 14+ years (from like 6 years old or so to now at 22), because I got doxxed and had people threaten me and my family, all because I said I prefer playing kh3 over 2. (And that a lot of the things people hate about kh3, like proud mode being easy, cutscenes that has sora just being there, org members sometimes just basically calling sora smelly and leaving, were all things In kh2 as well) Which... I guess it's ironic, that the game series that legit saved my life, had the fans nearly ruin my life lmao.
KH2 was one step below FFX Both Held their own weight for their times. KH3 Showed us what online community can do for a game. Now if they were smart they would make a Verum Rex VS Battle network online for the future of KH4. But it takes a genius to see this sleeping goldmine. Fully customizable characters & an armory for upgrades of each character.
@@ShockwaveFPSStudiosthe people at Pixar actually like the series from their eagerness to work on the game themselves in 3 and I do t think square has a legal stick anywhere near as far up their butt as Disney. I don’t think they’d mind sharing the rights for the project.

As uncommon a take this is, kh3 is my favorite kh game when it fully realized, it aged like fine wine gameplay wise and gave birth to my favorite kh boss. I would say the overall game of 2 is better but I'm quite fond of 3.
I grew up with KH playing the first game when I was 12. Honestly although I played many of the games that came after KH2 (my favorite of the games) I grew a lot of resentment toward the franchise because I wanted kh3 so bad for a long time 😭I only started playing kh3 recently, finally at the age of 32! I’m enjoying it and it brings me back to those childhood kh days though. Looking forward to 4, just hope I won’t be in my 70s when it comes 😂
As long as we had to wait for KH3, there should've never even been DLC. Since when is there ever DLC in a KH game. That's stupid and yall just went and purchased it. I wish I might ever pay for dlc in a main title KH game. I watched it on youtube like everybody else and it still didn't help that game in my opinion. @@Vezgod
@@TonyKnight1208 literally EVERY main line game has dlc. KH1 had final mix which added a bunch of new bosses, new abilities and cutscenes. KH2 also had final mix which added new cutscenes, new abilities, a LOT of new bosses, a whole new form, the mushroom xiii and the collectable puzzle pieces The only difference is that back in the PS2 Era they had no way of patching the game, so if you wanted the dlc you had to buy the whole game again. The dlc has always massively improved the games. Your opinion is based off watching a few videos, my opinion is based off playing through the games and dlc a few times.
The combat and story got tweaked a lot since release. even though the gameplay, even at release, was the most versatile and stylish of the bunch, it definitely needed some fine tuning. Story wise I think it's a mess, too much exposition, not enough focus. Still decent by the end, but no where near as good as kh1 or 2 imo.
Out of playing KH, KH2, KH3, 358/2 days, and chain of memories to completion (played birth by sleep shortly and never got to touch another KH game), I'd say that KH2 is my favorite, followed by 358/2 days, while chain of memories is my least favorite, with KH3 barely being above it. I don't hate any of these games, but the gameplay in chain of memories wasn't that good, and KH3 was so chaotic in both its gameplay and story... it just really felt like they threw stuff at the wall to try and get things to stick and it didn't entirely work out.
I remember playing through KH2 and always saving my drive for boss battles. A few years after I beat the game I saw my brother’s game and he had all of these cool attacks and movement abilities and I was like O_O “how’d you do that?” I was so nerfed the whole game. Wish I would have know, I feel like I missed so much. Maybe someday I’ll play it again, but it won’t be the same as a first play-through.

I really enjoyed the others too (for the most part), for the record.
Problem with 3 is the attraction sequences should of been kept for boss battles and no drive forms take away a lot of edge. Drive forms balanced kh2 combat, kh3 bbs style form changes arent as good as in bbs when there was multiple ways to change your form. You only get 1 change per keyblade equipped.
Honestly I thought it was mid. I grew up with this game and it's the only game that I have a love/hate relationship with. All the other ones I either absolutely love or don't like (ddd &358/2 ice creams)

I think KH3 Formchanges are a lot better than kh2 drive forms. Formchanges doesn't punish you, they have tons of variety, you can pull off some sick combos, not to mention that you can actually block when using Formchanges because the drive forms (except Limit Form) does not have the block ability.
@@Redxan600 "the drive forms (except Limit Form) does not have the block ability." Except Wisdom, Master, and Final all can use Reflect, which is just better than guard all around. It has more invincibility frames, uses the least MP out of all the spells, and deals counter damage relative to the attacks that land while the spell is active.
@@lappiestofdogslapdog You really shouldn't excuse the flaws the drive form mechanic has. At least with Formchange, you can block and Dodge Roll for free. Only Limit Form can block and Dodge Roll, and it wasn't even in the base game. I shouldn't have to spend MP just to protect myself from damage.
@@Redxan600 That's the wrong way of looking at it though. It's not about "having to spend MP just to protect yourself". It's that Reflect is just so much better than block all around that once I unlock it, it basically replaces block for me anyway. It's more reliable, deals great counter damage, it uses so little MP that it's not even an issue, and, like other magics, you can even chain it. It's arguably KH2's best mechanic. I was personally disappointed that KH3 doesn't have it.
@@lappiestofdogslapdog I can see your point of view as to why you like it. But I find it to be broken. While KH3 may not have Reflect, there are other ways for the game to be fun without it.
kh1 was great. kh 2 was honestly just okay...the story started to show a lot of cracks at times. it was still a nice romp and all. but overall, it just had issues
@dylangaletti395 it genuinely is hard carried by the story and even then it wasn't as good as the new cutscenes added in the 2.5 collection. I can't understand people that say it's a good game when most only like the dialogue.
The story is by the strictest definitions of garbage, maybe. But then the gameplay, combat, controls, camera, level design, and especially the bosses are better than every other KH game by a planetary margin. Like, come on.
@@completelynormalperson7077 the issues is the controls it feels really stiff when playing it other but than that everything else about the game is amazing.

Kh was the first video game that had any kind of emotional impact on me, I didn't even know video games could even do that. I always just played mindlessly and the boom mind explosion
KH3 from a gameplay perspective comes extremely close to surpassing KH2 for me, but the lack of challenge outside of Critical mode (which wasn't in the game prior to Re:Mind) kills its potential. Yeah, Critical Mode makes it more engaging and fun, and the Re:Mind DLC is top notch, but that doesn't excuse it since that's how the game should've been to start. Hopefully whatever they decide to do for KH4, they take what they learned from 3 and make the game more of an overall challenge to accommodate for whatever new abilities we get.
This may be my only chance to felx this but i have finally completed my kh2.5 critical 100% i have S+ on every gummy mission, ive completed Jiminy's journal, I've earned sora's golden crown, got ever stat to 100 and crafted ever item
as someone who played just about all the KH games- without a doubt KH2 gameplay was a chef’s kiss… 358/2 days had the story for me… and KH3… sadly adult me started asking too many questions..
For me, it's any KH game. I'd like to make a GIF of the Judge at the beginning of "Madea Goes to Jail" when she found out that Madea wasn't marandized, so she can't sentence her. "EXCUSE ME?!?!"
KH2, I cried when Sora found Riku at the end. KH3, I cried at the end of Sora dying on the beach as he faded away to save Kairi. KH1 I didn't cry to, I smiled all the way through it all.
I actually just finished Kh3, grinder up and got the ultima weapon, working on doing the secret boss(es). I expected it, from starting the series a couple months ago, to be my favorite. And at some point, I realized, for how flashy and pretty it is, nothing can replace 1 and 2 for me. There's something about it, something that's doesn't really feel right. Almost like you're riding a kingdom hearts themed roller coaster (and before someone says something, I played pretty much the entire game with attractions turned off). I do love the game, it's by no means bad, but I honestly don't think it holds up to the standard of 2. And it definitely doesn't feel like a game people should've had to wait 13 years for (i wish numbers didn't exist so Nomura had something better to fuck with us with)

Good and Decent tier: KH1, KH2, KH3, KHCOM(GBA): We all know them, we all loved them, these are the perfect exemple of how you make a good Kingdom Hearts, am also including the GBA version of COM, cause i think this is the game that imply the
he most well kingdom in a handle system.
It understandable cause this is the only game in the franchise that i didn't played yet.
The pointless tier: KHR-C, KH COM, KH MOM and both mobiles games, WHAT IS THIS!? AND WHY IS THIS!? Cause i don't want to take comment longer, and gonna describe all of the games in fews words, Repetitive, doing KH1 worlds for the million time,GARBAGE STORY EVERYWHERE (Besides f*cking Dark road) and last.. WHO EVEN PLAY ANY OF THESE GAMES!? IF YOU WANT TO PLAY COM, PLAY IT ON A GBA EMULATOR, FOR FREE ON YOU PC, WHAT DOES EVEN RE-CODED HAVE TO DO WITH THE SERIES!? And.. most importantly, F*CK THESE MOBILE GAMES, THEY ARE EVEN WORSE THAN THE FINAL FANTASY MOBILE GAMES 😠
Conclusion: There are only 4 good Kingdom Hearts👍
@@thelastofitskind3034 KH3 is the 2nd or 3rd best game in the series. All of you hating on it don’t have a good argument. It wasn’t that short, the worlds didn’t suck after Olympus, you were just upset that it couldn’t top KH2. Doesn’t mean it sucks though.

Yep.
And that's a fact!
Sora and friends find castle oblivion and get tricked to stay there where the nobodies extract Sora's Memories thought namine (kairy her nobody) and they created xion (from memories of sora mostly feelings for Kairy explaining her looks)
The husk of Sora gets saved by Riku and ansem the white. Riku struggling with his darkness.
Mean time, Xion and Roxas both nobodies of sora are working heart until they must return to Sora the story is Great but this is just the general gist.
Sora awakens thanks to everyones help but darkness has now fully settled in Sora's completed heart (shadow drive)
Now Sora must fight between the heartless and nobodies. Increasing his strength. Though seeing conflicts of light and dark everywhere. This game it gets explained the keyblade morphs to suite the Keychain*
Drives are thought up but later changed to keyblade power instead of power of clothes.
But during this all Sora's darkness grows.
They fight the orientation, Riku returns fully to the light and the organization is defeated returning all the nobodies to human form.
Hollow bastion becomes radiant garden again.
BbS
Back to the past to Terra Ventus and Aqua.
3d
Rank of mastery for Riku and Sora.
(Signing his own doom)
They defeat darkness and win. Sora's disappearing at the end. (Confirmed via trailer kh4 actually dying from his actions)
I would suppose these are the core bits you need to understand the story.

Kh3 fans are chill and don't care
Kh2 fans will dox you for saying their game isn't good until endgame/postgame
I mean, you literally have more abilities and capabilities to act during kh3 early worlds than you have in pre-endgame kh2.
I legit almost dropped the series as a whole, despite being a fan of it for over 14+ years (from like 6 years old or so to now at 22), because I got doxxed and had people threaten me and my family, all because I said I prefer playing kh3 over 2. (And that a lot of the things people hate about kh3, like proud mode being easy, cutscenes that has sora just being there, org members sometimes just basically calling sora smelly and leaving, were all things In kh2 as well)
Which... I guess it's ironic, that the game series that legit saved my life, had the fans nearly ruin my life lmao.

KH2 was one step below FFX
Both Held their own weight for their times.
KH3 Showed us what online community can do for a game. Now if they were smart they would make a Verum Rex VS Battle network online for the future of KH4.

KH2 also had final mix which added new cutscenes, new abilities, a LOT of new bosses, a whole new form, the mushroom xiii and the collectable puzzle pieces
The only difference is that back in the PS2 Era they had no way of patching the game, so if you wanted the dlc you had to buy the whole game again. The dlc has always massively improved the games.

Did u play kh2 b4?
Anyone who truly thinks kh2 is mid doesn't have the right to have opinions on anything.

KH3 Formchanges over KH2 drive forms.
KH3 was my personal superior, KH2 was still cool, but it's kh3's time to shine.
I think KH3 Formchanges are a lot better than kh2 drive forms. Formchanges doesn't punish you, they have tons of variety, you can pull off some sick combos, not to mention that you can actually block when using Formchanges because the drive forms (except Limit Form) does not have the block ability.
@@Redxan600 "the drive forms (except Limit Form) does not have the block ability."
Except Wisdom, Master, and Final all can use Reflect, which is just better than guard all around.
