- Today I show how to build your own Count Dookul lightsaber at Disneyland in tomorrowland. Count Dooku or should we say Darth Tyranus lightsaber has a very unique look and is one of my favorites in the Build your own lightsaber station at Disneyland. You can also find these in Disney World and the Disney Studios park just outside of Star Tours

Christopher Lee was an actual swordsman and was qualified in fencing. The curved hilt was for the makashi lightsaber form which is based on fencing.

Well fencing they usually use sparring swords and rapiers so its likely he used both of those

I have a lightsaber from the build your own lightsaber and I never knew it had kyber crystals in it and the sound changes wow learn something new every day thanks for the info
I notice there are two versions of this saber. The one you made with the bottom curve and the one with the picture you showed that had like 2 curves. Can you make that one of only this version?
Just wondering but will count dooku’s emitter piece always be available or will they run out. Like do they restock them everyday basically.
The way the Count Dooku fights is based off of low form fencing, which is why it has extra finesse.
Hello! The video is pretty old, but the reason his combat is really cool is he uses the combat style Makashi, which is extremely hard to master, yet, amazing for defense and offense. To add onto this, it was AMAZING against Jedi because Jedi NEVER mastered any offensive combat-syles due to the fact they didn't think they'd battle sith, most Jedis went with the form I, Shi-Cho wich mostly served for blocking. Asajj Ventress also uses the SAME combat-style as Dooku, Makashi. However; Asajj's is definitely more... "modern" or has her own take on it, as one could say.

I had this exact same “build your own lightsaber” when I was 6! All the same customization options and it was available in stores like target, had the kyber crystals and all. Sad to see they haven’t improved on its design and are probably charging an outrageous price for it now.

the trigger on the body is a dual phase button which allowed dooku to change the length of his blade mud duel to confuse his enemies

How durable are these blades? And does the blade extend when upside down? (does it just fall?)
They are plastic toy blades for play fighting. Not full force combat. And yeah the blade will likely fall when upside down but you can just opt to not have the blade in it if you just want it for show.

Count Dooku is a Makashi practitioner and that is like fencing and he uses the curved saber hilt is to help make it better I guess not the best explanation but it is one

A rapier IS a typical sword, just not a katana/broadsword. Dooku's LS and his fighting style are very much inspired by a rapier.

dooku uses it like rapier sword for fencing
the reason why count dooku's form looks so strange is because he uses form 2, which is called makashi. it's very fencing style, and a curved hilt saber is perfect for the form.

Sadly this model has been discontinued. I was honestly pretty heartbroken at first because Count Dooku’s is my favorite but then I noticed this one lacks the iconic front curve that made his lightsaber so unique and deadly
