I've got a question... How do you personally plug in? Guitar into audio interface into iPad? I've got a Y cable that I can plug my guitar in directly to my iPad, then a headphone out on the same cord. (Like an iRig... without the plastic). I also have a 3rd gen iPad that I have a Griffin Audio Analog to digital interface. It's basically a quarter inch to 30 pin adapter, then I just have a 3.5mm stereo cable from the headphone out to my computer. (Surprisingly, there are STILL a bunch of amp sims that work on iOS 9.3.5). ANYWAY, my question is this... Regardless of how you plug your guitar in, where do you set all your volumes through the entire signal chain? From guitar pickups, to the interface volume, to the app in and out volume, to the iPad/iPhone headphone output, etc. I'm trying to find the cleanest, most silky sound I can possibly get out my mobile amp sims. I have it dialed in okay, but I find myself dinking around with volumes of everything all the time... So here we are. Anyone who continued to read this far, feel free to chime in. Thanks!! >M
What about those of us who have Rickenbacker bass guitars and want to record using the stereo output function? What’s the best interface to get? It has to have at least 2 inputs
Those Apple adapters cost a small fortune- however, if you add up all the cheaper alternatives I’ve bought over time, because they fail so quickly, it’s actually cheaper in the long run to buy the apple version . Of which I’ve only ever bought one of. Fanx For Askin 😎
Trying to make a portable set up to record BOTH vocals & electric guitar to iPad AT THE SAME TIME. (No computer or electricity) Is this even possible??? If so, is there any portable audio interface you'd recommend that can either be powered by an old iPad, iPhone or through power bricks, let me know. Thanks for your time.
hey men, thanks for the video. Ive tried the original irig with a lightning jack port, but it doesnt recognise the guitar on any app, do you know if the irig2 or hd works??
i’ve done all the steps but i didn’t by a apple adapter i bought a cheaper one off amazon and i feel that’s the reason it doesn’t work. my interface (2i2 focusrite solo) lights flash a dim pink color
Hi, could you tell me how I can simultaneously video myself playing whilst hooked up to GarageBand or similar? Everytime I minimise GarageBand to open my camera app and start video recording it shuts down GarageBand? Any help appreciated
Could have been helpful if you would have been more precise ON WHAT INTERFACE TO USE FOR AN IPAD! Instead of all the crap you were talking about. Very frustrating video.
MsCello u missing the point, any audio interface can be connect but you have to use the adapter to connect to ipad and this VDO gave an answer already -_-
True for new MacBook Pro too!
When I replace my iPad, simple, I'm going to get then with the USB-C plug.

Same. Bought a few cheap ones that does within a few months. Bought the official one four years ago and it’s worked great since.
@@TheGaragebandGuide I wonder if wish sell them 😂🤣 I’ve had mine a couple of years now , I think the cheaper ones lasted a month at the longest.
Very interesting!
Can’t you just connect your amp to an interface and then use an adapter to connect it to iPad? No hate, just trying to save money haha
Can I run from my amp into my iPad to record? I love the tone/pedals that I have coming from my stack and just want to run that sound into the IPad
You can if your amp has an MSDI output

Is this a good method to run backtracks or click and practice at different speeds to? Im trying to figure out what a good practice rig would be
Hi, my ipad 10th gen has latency using amp. How to fix this?
dude can yo tell me how to get the rig acoustic stage to work with iPad?
hey men, thanks for the video. Ive tried the original irig with a lightning jack port, but it doesnt recognise the guitar on any app, do you know if the irig2 or hd works??
Can you show me how to record with an ampero 1. I can play thru it but can’t record. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Thanks for the info! Does the iRig i/o connect directly with usb-c?
It comes with both a lightning, USB and USBC connection
I have an Apple iPad 7th Gen 10.2. Do you know which iRig is best suited?
Audio jack version?

Yep, that’s likely the reason.
