I have some snap-on body hammers that are over 60yrs. old an have the original handles on them, and they have plenty of hours of use on them. good job with the install.
I've seen videos on dressing the face of the body hammers using a file. I think the 180 on the da sander looks like it works just fine. I put a new handle on my splitting maul and I guess with some universal handles that you need to sand them a bit to get them to fit right. Didn't know the trick for hitting the handle to drive it into the head though. I'll give that a shot on my next replacement one. Thanks for the vid!
I've been wanting to try a wooden handle body hammer. I've been using the fiberglass hammers. Have you been able to compare the two. New handle looks factory.

Boiled Linseed Oil to seal the head end - keep applying it in thin layers over several days until no more will soak in.
