Here's an idea Allet, be the first to create a decent average homeowner reel mower at a realistic price. Yes most homeowners could afford a $3000 liberty but most average homeowners who only have 4 to 5k sqft arent going to pay $3k for a lawn mower. It's funny they say for the homeowner but that is a $6000 mower!!
Aww man poor fella. I felt that. Dude came around the world to promote this wonderful product and then the mans grass get straight scalped. Way to save the moment.. "it's just grass" that's just right too. It'll grow back. Cool product and actually very impressive power.
He seems like a good guy and genuinely concerned about the low cut. I would love to have one of these. But we grow St Augustine and I dont hear of anyone reel mowing it because it needs to be cut much higher. I cut my lawn at 4.5 inches. I do love the idea of having the cartridges so I could use the verti cut (or however you spell it) which I think I could do on St Augustine.
I'm in Australia and have St Augustine - over here we call it Buffalo grass. I have an Allett Kensington and it's cut just under an inch in height which is what we do over here - I never understand why Americans cut your grass so high, it looks so much tidier when it's lower. Verticutting St Augustine isn't a good idea unless you're doing a full renovation - it tends to rip out the grass and it's too aggressive, better to use the scarifier on St Augustine
@@vk2him I've heard some say that buffalo grass and St Augustine are the same. But I have heard equal numbers say they are different. Maybe buffalo grass is just one variety of St Augustine and it may have much different growth habits that what we use in my part of the USA. I can tell you with 100% certainty that St Augustine varieties that we specifically grow in Florida grow better at around 3-4 inches. The varieties we use are Floratam, 'Classic', among others. I think you would be surprised at how nice and tidy my grass looks. Edged up nice with a smooth cut at 4.5 inches. So thick it is almost hard to walk through. I did read about a few varieties like Palmetto that can be cut 1.5-2.5 inches. That may be similar to the variety you have over there. When you let the grass grow more leaf, it can use the blades as reservoirs for moisture when we get into the 90-100 degrees f with no rain. I imagine your weather is similar.
LOL, right smack dab in the middle of the yard too....ouch on the first 10 secs lol. Mower looks awesome but that price is a little steep especially without a battery or charger....thats nuts IMO my Swardman was only $3300 (i say only LOL)
I've been looking at this thing for quite a while, and was planning to get one this year (especially after doing my lawn reno last fall with KBG). But then my 7 year old ac unit decided to crap out and well there goes thousands of dollars I was saving up 😢
Sorry for the bad comment Pete I still like ya and I know you worked really hard to get where you are today I can't wait to see those fancy sprinklers you put in in action I could probably watch those things water for 30 or minutes or longer when it's really hot out and you need to unwind and watch the irrigation system go
I almost got it! I'm having a hard time swallowing $8K for Stirling 51+ 4 extra cartridges, 2 cartridge racks, and at least an EGO 10ah (+$450 battery and $180 fast charger). 🤢 If my wife ever found out, I'd be divorced!
That thing looks awesome! I have to ask with you having such a large area to mow (and owning a much wider reel mower) do you ever see yourself actually using a little one like this for your yard? Do you still have the Liberty 43/use that one? One of these smaller Allett mowers is my dream mower but I don't think I'll be able to afford one/convince my wife to take out a loan for one lol. Keep up the great vids Pete, god bless 👍.
Great video Pete, I have subscribed to your channel as I will learn so much. Can I ask what you thought about the decibel output of the Sterling mower? Was it just the microphone you use for your video's that made it sound louder than it actually was?
I just assembled what I am calling the franken-edger, ego multihead with the idech rotary scissors. Have a stuby nozzle and ego blower that will work for car also on the way. I think at this point I’m all in team ego. Just need to find a home for other miscellaneous systems to fund more.

@@forestmoore319 the Sterling uses an Ego battery. The cheaper Liberty uses a Greenworks battery.
I thought the price point of this unit would be in the range of $2,500 to 3k price point.
Man, that was funny stuff… not as sure if I’d be laughing if that was my own yard with that mishap, but Pete handled that like a champ.
I really enjoyed this video, Thanks Guys
So exciting. Been waiting for this!
Buddy’s stressing now. He knew that wasn’t good 😩🙈 lol poor guy.
Nice mower for sure. I wish CT would make cartridges for their machines. Would be awesome.
It's just grass! Looking great Pete!
Awesome first look. I don't think Pete will sweat the scalp spot too much, could make for another follow up video on how it heals.
Ok there has to be a limit on how many pieces of equipment a man can own!! 🧐 I WANT MY ALLETT AND I WANT IT NOW 🥺 Let me pray to the lawn gods
It'll cost you about 10k plus unfortunately with all those cartridges
LOL, right smack dab in the middle of the yard too....ouch on the first 10 secs lol. Mower looks awesome but that price is a little steep especially without a battery or charger....thats nuts IMO my Swardman was only $3300 (i say only LOL)
I've been looking at this thing for quite a while, and was planning to get one this year (especially after doing my lawn reno last fall with KBG). But then my 7 year old ac unit decided to crap out and well there goes thousands of dollars I was saving up 😢
Awesome video thanks ! I'm sure it took a lot of work to get your yard looking the way it do great job !
It's amazing what people do for grass. You talking about a lot of time on your hands
Some people go and sit in a pub for hours
Some climb mountains
It’s a hobby
Sorry for the bad comment Pete I still like ya and I know you worked really hard to get where you are today I can't wait to see those fancy sprinklers you put in in action I could probably watch those things water for 30 or minutes or longer when it's really hot out and you need to unwind and watch the irrigation system go
I need to buy a WiFi extender before I can set the system up
Please put a green in your backyard? I know your dirts right! That would be a good series for the channel!
This EGO powered reel mower is brilliant.
Good day Mate. I like this machine , need to do some leveling first.
Pete is such a nice guy
I got an EGO snow blower and a 21" mower. They have their positives and negatives.
I almost got it! I'm having a hard time swallowing $8K for Stirling 51+ 4 extra cartridges, 2 cartridge racks, and at least an EGO 10ah (+$450 battery and $180 fast charger). 🤢 If my wife ever found out, I'd be divorced!
Haha I’m in the same boat. I want it, but man the cost is outrageous. If it were 3-4K I’d be all over it
That thing looks awesome!
Glad to have ya! Yes the mic makes it sound a little louder than it actually is
Thanks for the video Pete. The Sterling looks like a great mower. However, the price does not reflect what you get.
I just assembled what I am calling the franken-edger, ego multihead with the idech rotary scissors. Have a stuby nozzle and ego blower that will work for car also on the way. I think at this point I’m all in team ego. Just need to find a home for other miscellaneous systems to fund more.
That machine is pretty awesome. 🔥
Mine comes on 5/6 if you want to check it out let me know. We're only a few miles apart I'm in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver.
@@tomhofmann6008 that would be pretty cool. Maybe after these storms pass I'll hit ya up.
Looks like a great piece of equipment Pete.
Great competitor for the Swardman. Little pricy for my budget though.
Great Video Pete!! I think this is a huge improvement over their other mowers in this range. Are you going to be taking the height of cut down soon?
Another awesome vid! 👍🏻 Hello from Tx!
$4,700 before taxes is crazy....... i wish they would make one sub 1k..... would sell like crazy.... battery and charger not even included.......
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes this is why these mowers fail here.... they really need to do more research before trying to sell the the average american mower..... 90% of us who do mow our own grass either use a zero turn/ride on or a cheap 500$ or less push mower.... a 28inch 4700 dollar push mower won't do well here..... shit I use a toro timemaster and thought 1200 for it was too much.
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes Nothing to do with costs in England, Allett being greedy and having no competition other than Swardman who have their own issues.
